This was probably the best accommodation we’ve ever stayed in! It was super clean, peaceful, and well-located. The host was very responsive, arranged scooters for us to rent, and gave us some useful tips. We had the best time having BBQs in the garden and just hanging out! We would be happy to come back one day. Highly recommended!

This was one of our absolute highlights of our Philippines trip. Arvin and Kenneth provided an excellent service. The contact with Alfred was very helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend Nature’s Retreat! The name is quite accurate, and if you are looking to really immerse yourself in a beautiful nature setting away from it all, this is the place. Our crew was nine friends from around the world who gathered here over New Year’s, and to give a sense of the experience, on NYE, we all waded out into the warm shallow bay surrounded by the tropical jungle and mountains, had the hosts turn off the electricity to the Retreat and welcomed in 2020 with the only lights being the stars and bright Milky Way above. Stunning. As were the bonfire the hosts built, the trips they took us on around the islands with the property’s catamaran, the massages they organized (so cheap and very very good) and the other tours they helped us arrange. In terms of the hosts, we cannot say enough good things about Sam, his family and his crew. They are incredibly kind and affable human beings, completely professional and on top of all of the logistics and always available for any assistance or advice. And a real bonus is that Sam and his wife are incredible cooks - we learned they own a restaurant in PP, and it showed in all the meals which were very well done. There is no question the place is rustic, and it is secluded (no neighbors). And that is its amazing charm. But don’t expect to be able to just pop in and out of town in 5-10 minutes on a whim. Our only caution is, before booking, check Air Swift for available flights in and out of El Nido Lio airport. Otherwise you have to fly in to Puerto Princesa and it’s about a 5-6 hour drive to the Retreat from there, depending on traffic. Shouldn’t be a problem if you look well enough in advance (which we failed to do) – so just a lesson learned. All in all, this was a really special trip for our group, and we would really recommend you consider it for yourself.

Great place and ideal location for El Nido centre. Host was very helpful and allowed us an early check in, Marvin the local support was also a great help in arranging trips, taxis etc. The place was ideal for our group with 3 ac bedrooms and a lovely outdoor roof terrace, perfect for some sunset drinks. The property is well-maintained, exceptionally clean, and exudes a charming tropical vibe. The rooms were spacious and thoughtfully designed, providing a relaxing retreat after a day of exploring. The staff deserves a special mention—they were incredibly friendly, attentive, and always eager to help. The location was also ideal, offering stunning views and convenient access to nearby attractions. However, one important point to note is that this hotel may not be the best option for elderly travelers or those with mobility issues. The property has a significant number of stairs to climb, which could pose a challenge. While the layout adds to its unique character, it’s something to consider if ease of access is a priority. For anyone comfortable with a bit of climbing, this hotel is a fantastic choice for a memorable stay in El Nido!

We stayed with 2 small kids for 2 weeks at Karuna and LOVED it. The restaurant is delicious and the view amazing! The place is peaceful and gorgeous, our Joglo was very beautiful!

The photos dont do it justice - an absolutely world class view. A comfortable and spacious place to stay and great to be able to use the facilities. Only downside were a few cockroaches on the first night - but this is to be expected with the Airbnb being literally in the forest. Would definitely stay again and was a wonderful, relaxing end to our Philippines adventure.

We had a great time at this place in El Nido! The accommodation is really great: very clean, the bedding is quality, and the pool is even bigger and nicer in real life than in the photos. Everything is well thought out for a comfortable stay. Small downside regarding the location: even if the villa is about 15 minutes from the city center (which is quite reasonable), the access is a little complicated. The road is not concrete, which makes it difficult, whether it is a tuktuk or scooter — you have to drive very slowly and be careful. In addition, it is difficult to find the villa on the first day because there is a lack of sign and Waze or Google maps does not take us there directly That said, there are small grocery stores nearby, which is convenient. Overall, it's a place to stay that I would definitely recommend, hoping that access is improved in the future because it's the only negative

It’s amazing sea view from the room terrace .we can just had the beautiful sunset from the room. We really enjoyed it.hopefully can stay longer here next time.

Manfred and Rosanna are lovely, very welcoming and really accommodating. Their kindness made our stay even more enjoyable. The house is lovely. With scooters, it's very easy to get around and reach all the places of interest nearby. We highly recommend this listing!

Such a beautiful place to stay. The views from our villa were outstanding - beautiful sunsets and unobstructed views of the sea. The room was large and very well presented. The small kitchenette was handy, though we didn't personally require it. The outdoor (but fully private and covered) bathroom was really nice and the shower had brilliant power. My wife and I unfortunately became ill at El Nido (not related to Karuna!) and we couldn't have hoped for a better place to relax whilst we got better. Really cosy environment, had everything we need and the staff were incredibly attentive. Communication through what's app for room service, shuttle to town and housekeeping was efficient and really friendly. The free shuttle service into El Nido town is really helpful and only takes 10 mins. You can walk to the local corong corong area yourself which has plenty of lovely restaurants and bars. I cannot recommend this place enough. We absolutely adored our time here.

We stayed at Karuna and really enjoyed our time here. The restaurant was wonderful, the reception staff was so helpful. They helped us through our food poisoning we got prior and nurtured us back to health. I would recommend this place for everyone. Whenever I go back to El Nido I will definitely stay here again

Wonderful stay in El Nido. It's true that the accommodation is not in the center, but that's precisely the charm of feeling like a local. He has two motorcycles available with which we were able to travel to different places. Kat is charming and attentive at all times. He arranged the transfers and even some activities. Always attentive to us and making sure everything went wonderfully for us. I would definitely stay here again! Everything was perfect

As soon as we stepped foot on this sanctuary we felt like we were experiencing the Palawan island life we’d read rave reviews about. Away from the tooting horns and chaos of El Nido town we could now enjoy the sounds of birds, geckos and water lapping at the beach on our villa doorstep. Guy could not have been more helpful - and watching him tend to his lush lawn, beautiful garden of palms and frangipanis, his pride of place was also evident in the viewing spots he’d built for guests to admire the incredible sunsets over the water. We had every meal catered for including a fresh fish buffet lunch aboard our bangka boat with crew and tour guide Jeff who took us every day on a private island hopping tour - timing our arrival for when the other tourists were gone. Don’t expect a 5-Star hotel experience. You get something much more special here - and if you connect with the team, it’s a privilege to hear their life stories and ambitions. We’ll always remember our time here.

Thanks a million to Samy and Greg for a wonderful stay in El Nido! The location of the house is perfect, it is only a few minutes walk from the main streets and beach, yet it is very quiet as it situated on a less busy side street. The bedrooms and bathrooms were spotless. The hosts were very helpful and receptive to our check out time, allowing us to store our luggage until later in the day. All in all Picado House is highly recommended for a group stay in El Nido!

Kat and RJ were outstanding hosts, they went above and beyond for us and made us feel so welcome. The scooters are a fantastic addition and made it so handy to get around.
