Hayam's place was excellent and we would stay again. It was right in the heart of a fascinating neighborhood of Cairo if you want to get to know the city outside of the main tourist areas. We spent hours on the balcony people watching and sipping tea. It's also a great choice because even though it is away from where most tourists stay, it is very accessible. El-Geish metro station is less than a 10 minute walk from the apartment and you can go anywhere in the city from there. If you wanted to take a walk to Islamic Cairo (Bab al-Futuh), it is less than a 30 minute walk. Mona was very communicative, respectful, and nice. We had a little trouble finding the place at first because Google Maps puts it on the other side of the square. However, she was there to meet us and guide us to the right building.

The place itself is cozy, beautifully decorated, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. However, the entrance to the property felt a bit concerning and could use some improvement for better first impressions and safety.
