DIY guesthouse near the Fukui Sta.

Highly recommended to stay at Sammie‘s. Sakiko runs such a nice, cozy, open guesthouse, the rooms are comfortable with enough privacy and a nice community used space. The location is super good, close to cafes and restaurants and train station. If we come back to Fukui we definitely come back.

Thoroughly enjoyed my short 1 night stay at Zen Share House and wished I’d booked to stay another night. Host is so lovely, greeted me on arrival and explained everything in English well. So clean, homely and peaceful. Perfect location for visiting Eiheiji Temple with local bus 1 min walk away. Thankyou

Male and Female Mixed Dorm/Bed/Bunkbed/Mix dormitory/Hostel291 ②

JamesRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Nozomi was very helpful at getting me settled in. Since I was a solo traveller, I was in a small private room rather than the large pictured shared dormitory, but it was very comfortable and well sized. The only issue I had was with other guests moving past my room and using the kitchen/bathroom, but they were respectful and did not make excessive noise. Nozomi gave me some nice recommendations for local places to eat, and was very attentive and informative about the property and amenities I had available. The place is located in the quite area of Takefu, very close to the train station that could take you to the center of Fukui in about 20 minutes, a bus station that could take you to numerous other areas in the prefecture, and a large mall for all of your shopping needs. If I am ever in Fukui again, I would be happy to spend another few nights here!

Modern house in Fukui city (a share house style)

PawanRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Koju was truly the best host I’ve ever had on Airbnb! From the moment we arrived, he went above and beyond in every way. He picked us up from the train station without us even asking, and generously drove us to different locations throughout our stay. What sets Koju apart is how proactive and thoughtful he is—always available, incredibly friendly, and full of energy. Whether it was food recommendations, local activities, or transportation, he was always ready to help with a smile. His suggestions were spot-on and made our trip unforgettable. If you’re looking for a host who genuinely cares and will make your stay seamless and memorable, Koju is the one. Can’t recommend him enough—thank you, Koju!

A dream home away from home~ YAWNYAWN is the perfect stay for fellow wanderers drawn to design and music, but anyone would feel right at home with its warmth and cosiness. Yuka was the most welcoming host (thank you for the いちご), and the place was spotless 💖 A small heads-up for fellow over-packers: you would need to carry your luggage up a small flight of stairs. Regardless, I had such a restful stay, and would have stayed longer if I could!

Just outstanding hosting. Being collected from the railway station 4 of us with luggage directly to Tetsuro’s home just lifted any stress. The house and bedrooms were like staying in a temple large ornate rooms which were stunning … the breakfast was varied and could t be faulted so generous with his home and his time … Nicola Simon Suzie and Arran …
