Bristol Luxury Garden Apartment

This is a sunny, light high ceilinged apartment on the garden level of this impressive Grade 2 listed 200 year old Georgian house set on a hill in Montpelier, Bristol. The owner lives on the top 2 levels of the property. The apartment has its own side door at the bottom of the side steps (with iron handrail) with access to a south facing terrace overlooking the garden. The terrace is for sole use of the apartment and access to the garden is allowed if there are children staying (there is a 2 metre drop down to the vegetable patch at the end of the garden so young ones will need to be supervised for safety) This is ideal for 2 people but there is a new small double sofa bed in the living room.(available for £25 per stay). There is also a solid fold out bed. There is a large travel cot available for £20 for the length of stay (payable after arrival). Also free of charge high chair and light weight buggy suitable for a toddler. The price for two people total is for two people sharing the bed in the bedroom. If the sofa bed is also needed when there is two people staying there is an extra charge of £25. (This payment can be left in the apartment at the end of the stay). There are black out blinds in both the bedroom and living room. Everything has been refurbished personally by the owner (and there is a lot of white!) so respect would be very much appreciated about the decor. It is 50 square metres in total area. The kitchen includes an induction hob and oven which makes cooking even safer, and there is also a slimline Bosch dishwasher. A fire extinguisher, carbon monoxide and a smoke alarm are fitted. The area is a resident parking and permit only area (between the weekday hours of 9am-5pm and free on the weekends and overnight. I will supply permits free of charge for your car only. If you are staying longer than a week please let me know if you need a pass for longer than a month as I might have to apply for more passes from the council. please let me know how many days you will need and I will organise the virtual permits once I have your car details. There are NO real fires allowed. Montpelier is a very tranquil, peaceful but atmospheric area. It is steeped in history including Cary Grant being one of its past residents and presently home to members of the group Massive Attack. The area is known for its friendliness and as a very arty, quite green, bohemian area full of musicians, artists, actors, students and with a rainbow of backgrounds and ages. There are great places to eat within a 5 minute walk: famous to Bristolians is Bells Diner a great tapas (also Pocos), then there is The Thali Cafe with live music on Sundays, Indian and tasty burger takeaways along with pizza places close by. A late opening convenience store just a couple of minutes walk away from the apartment and also 'Better Foods' an organic food store and coffee shop. There is a local bakers "Herberts" which bakes for many restaurants in Bristol and there is an abundance of eating places and trendy bars to choose from either nearby (10 min walk) on Stokes Croft, Cheltenham Road or Gloucester Road (15 min walk, which also has plenty of well known live jazz venues), St. Andrews and Montpelier Park are both close by and also there is a very enjoyable free city farm only a short walk through the allotments (with a great pub next door with garden aptly named The Farm!) There is also an impressive climbing centre in a converted church. Other than the huge shopping complex of Cabots Circus only 15 minute walk away including House of Fraser, Apple and all the other famous stores, you also have all the fun and quirky independent stores of Gloucester Road which are also only a 15 minute walk away. Montpelier train station can take you via a 10/15 minute journey to Temple Meads station, from where you can either take a 12 minute train journey to central Bath or straight to Cardiff if you fancy. If travelling by car, the apartment is 5 minutes from junction 3 of the M32 or a 30 minute drive to Bath or an hour to Cardiff. The apartment's street name means a 2 wheeled cart so it is very narrow, so even though there is parking it is wise to park on the next street up and walk 100 metres if you are wary of parking so close to a wall! Bristol airport is 10 miles (16km) away which takes 30 minutes by car or there is a bus to the nearby bus and coach station. From Montpelier train station you can go 10 minutes straight to Clifton, or even further to Severn Beach to see the Welsh bridges over the River Severn. Bristol has so many things to offer: Clifton Suspension Bridge, the Water Front, art galleries including The Arnolfini, museums including the At Bristol (science museum), Sea Aquarium, boat rides, SS Great Britain, an abundance of music venues, beautiful parks and The Downs, Hot air ballooning, kite flying, Bristol Old Vic and The Tobacco Factory, art house cinemas or just sitting down and people watching. Wales, The Cotswolds, The Wye Valley, north Devon beaches, The Forest of Dean and Oxford are all about an hour's drive so plenty of things to do, and places to see and walk. There is a minimal cleaning fee, but if left in a mess or rugs etc soiled there will be a charge for the extra cleaning and any broken items. Refurbished to a high standard, this beautiful, fully equipped apartment is perfect for a weekend away sightseeing, or for longer stays. The apartment's private entrance is accessed via a small courtyard to the front of the flat. The large open plan kitchen, dining and sitting room are at the heart of the apartment. The kitchen is fully equipped with Miele appliances - electric hob, oven, microwave, fridge/freezer and Nespresso machine and there’s a washer/dryer for those wishing to stay a bit longer. The adjoining sitting room includes Samsung flat screen TV with Freesat. The property has WiFi throughout. The large bedroom to the rear of the apartment includes a super comfy, king size bed including bedding. The bathroom has underfloor heating, large walk in shower, luxurious toiletries and towels. A car parking space is available during your stay, giving you freedom to explore further into the beautiful West Country. Guests will be sent the door access code the morning of their arrival and can check in anytime after 3pm (or earlier if requested). The apartment comprises the entire basement flat of our Georgian townhouse. We live upstairs and are very happy to provide advice and recommendations on places to explore, visit, eat and drink. Many of Bristol’s tourist attractions are within walking distance: the museum, zoo, Hippodrome theatre, aquarium, Victoria Room, and more. Clifton village is a 5 minute stroll offering a range of boutique shops, restaurants, and coffee shops. The apartment is in a central location making it easy to get around Bristol. Train: Bristol Temple Meads train station is a 10 minute taxi ride or the no. 8&9 bus drop off at the top of Park Street which is a 2 minute walk to the flat. Bus: Bristol bus station is a 10 minute walk. Air: If you are coming from Bristol airport, the Bristol Flyer Express bus runs 24hrs a day, stopping at the bus station, otherwise a taxi takes 20 minutes. Children are very welcome and we can provide a travel cot, baby bath, high chair and other tiny tot essentials.

This is a peaceful location but very near to the Mall, the Wave and the Zoo and only 6 miles from town - a perfect nights sleep on a SIMBA mattress and supplied with large fluffy white towels and everything you need for a night away from home . We also have a new TV with iplayer and Netflix’s, new washing machine and a decent non stick frying pan.

We had a great stay at Kate’s place and she is super responsive and helpful. One thing to note is that the stairs are quite steep and there is no shower only a bath - but this is clear from the other reviews. We had a lovely time and it is walking distance to some fab restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay.

Richard and Jessica’s place was great! We were staying for a family weekend and the house was everything we needed - walking distance to where we were going and big enough for us to cook and eat together with a large garden and an incredible view. Jessica was so lovely, friendly and flexible when communicating with us before we got there and they worked around what suited us best for check in. The table tennis table was definitely an added plus for us and the large garden with outdoor seating was so lovely. Definitely recommend!

This is my third time visiting Badgers Bothy and we've made it 4 for next year! It is a little peace of heaven, set in the most gorgeous setting. If you are looking for a place to relax, unwind and forget about things for a few days then Joe's place is perfect for this. It's beautifully decorated, beautifully clean and feels like a second home from the second you walk through the door. The wildlife is an additional bonus - sat in the living room watching a Muntjac walk past was just the cherry on the top. Thanks Joe for another lovely visit, we are very much looking forward to coming back next year x

Had a wonderful stay. Very spacious. Private. Felt right at home. Lovely massive bed in the main bedroom pillows and duvet also comfortable. Didn't use the 2 single beds but also a lovely room. The cottage just felt like it had a lovely atmosphere. You can leave the door open and windows without feeling like you have to have the door shut. Did Cheddar Gorge and Caves, Wookey Hole and Weston-super-Mare. Went to the Langford Inn and the Railway Inn plus in Cheddar had a lovely Indian at Rasoi and Milkshakes at Lion Rock Tea room. Jodie and Angus were helpful and friendly :-) Next time will definitely use the hot tub!

This property is in such a beautiful village, that we never wanted to leave! The space is bright and airy, w/everything needed to be comfy. There’s a binder w/everything you need to know, plus info about the 2 local pubs & dining options, etc. (Thurs. night at the Catherine Wheel is a MUST!). You won’t find anything remotely touristy in the village, which is why we loved it so, but it’s perfectly situated for easy drives to Bath, the Cotswolds, Diddly Squat Farm & The Farmer’s Dog (for Top Gear/Jeremy Clarkson fans), and so much more! Check out Soho Farmhouse in Chipping Norton for a truly fantastic outing! The Goat Shed has a double gate behind which you and your vehicle are safe and secure (although there’s no need for concern of that in Marshfield!). A grass lawn awaits your pet or children to play in, with zero risk of danger or escape. These 2 ladies from Canada and the U.S highly recommend a stay here (just bring a face cloth, as that was the only thing missing)!

We booked very last minute, and George was incredibly accommodating—couldn't thank them enough! The place was easy to find, and even came out to say hello in the morning—so sweet and friendly! The apartment itself was lovely, very private and comfortable, with thoughtful touches like snacks left for us. We really appreciated everything and would definitely stay again. Highly recommend!

We stayed here for 3 nights to celebrate our anniversary and daughter's first birthday. The apartment is in a prime location for exploring Bristol and has great places to eat close by to the apartment. Has got to be the best accomodation we've stayed in, everything was clean and set up for our daughter. It was spotless as well and we appreciated the milk left for us. Thanks again

We stayed at Norman's for two months while we renovated a house. Perfect location close to the city - Gloucester Rd, Whiteladies, city centre etc. Really lovely flat with private walled garden covered in rambling roses in beautiful Georgian Kingsdown. Flat very clean and comfortable and well equipped kitchen. Norman super helpful and friendly. We loved our stay here.
