Anchor Inn was so close to the best sides of Leelanau peninsula. Located just outside of downtown Traverse City, but within 30/45 minutes of more small towns like Suttons Bay, Northport, Empire, Glen Arbor, and Leland . Great hiking at Sleeping Bear National Park and wineries/ciders galore along the way. Of course I went off season, so planning the trip was a lesson in availability of open places.. but it’s so quiet and beautiful the peace was welcomed. Anchor Inn was clean, restful, and the cooler April temps made the fireplace the best amenity. Thank you for the amazing stay.

This place was a lot bigger than I expected based on the listing pictures. Is in a great location on the property for dining, running in to town. The host was very helpful when I decided before arrival to extend my stay a day. Very quick with communication response.

Two floating docks extend over clear waters, with a kayak in each of two vibrant colors paddling nearby. A kayak sits on the shoreline next to a pair of white lounge chairs positioned on the dock, inviting relaxation while enjoying the scenic view.

Drew and the staff at the Whaleback were great!! I’ve been coming to Leland my entire life and this was my first time staying at Whaleback (I know, we couldn’t believe it either) and it was nothing short of excellent! The cabin was so cute and clean and the complimentary coffee and muffins in the morning was a great touch. Our favorite part was sitting on the porch overlooking the water. Such a beautiful area. We can’t wait to come back!

I was planning to visit Sleeping Bear Dunes, and this place was conveniently located on the way, not far from there. I stayed at The Woods for two nights, and I couldn't have been more satisfied with my experience. The room was incredibly spacious and impeccably clean, providing a cozy and comfortable environment. The design of the space was delightful, with thoughtful touches that made it feel warm. Alicia was an excellent host, always helpful and accommodating, ensuring that I had everything I needed. I highly recommend The Woods to anyone!

Charmingly refurbished rooms with entrance hall parallel to road (MI 55) that made road noise minimal. Very clean, comfy, memory-foam mattress, and small but functional bathroom. We stayed here as a waystation to northern Michigan. A very nice place if in the area!

Amazing place, right near Arcadia Bluffs. I left a few things in the room upon leaving. Contacted the host who made very easy arrangements for me to pick it up when i was done golfing and before heading home. The host went above and beyond, just like tbe room. The rooms feel just like home, very comfy, clean and freshly updated.

We ended up staying at the Leland Lodge for my husband's birthday. The staff was very friendly, and it was an awesome location, walkable to most everything. The only complaint I would have is that the room smelled a little like mildew. The lodge has not been updated in awhile, but was cozy and has everything you need. Fishtown is a very cute area and I would highly recommend visiting

My boyfriend and I had a great stay here. It was relatively located to downtown TC, while also being within an hours distance to all The Leelanau Peninsula has to offer! The room was EXTREMELY clean. I was really pleased with our stay and will definitely be back in the summer.

This Air BnB is a beautiful and well maintained old historic lodge. Steps away from part of the AuSable River fly fishing area. We sat on chairs on a small wood deck by the river. Beautiful and peaceful. The lodge’s main floor is very nice and has multiple well appointed rooms where we could chose to sit and enjoy the beautiful old woodwork, fireplace and room decor. Terry is the manager. She is friendly, very nice and sweet. The breakfast was really good as Terry makes it herself. And she also makes cookies every day for the “Cookie of the Day” jar. Well done Terry. The rooms are well appointed while still keeping with the historic feel. Even our double bed was very comfortable. The front porch and the balcony above it are very roomy. We highly recommend this Air BnB for those who love peaceful surroundings, beautiful old historic lodges and a place where no tvs are included. We spent most of our night having wonderful conversations with the other guests.

Alicia communicated very well whenever I had any questions or requests. The space is nicely laid out with plenty of space to store gear during the stay. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pots, and pans for cooking. It felt very "at home". The entire stay was very comfortable and nice. This is a great place to stay while doing activities in the area. We really enjoyed our steelhead fishing trip as normal.

Great location near the mountain! Shuttle service available, but we didn’t use it. We got a lot of snow while there and the property manager was quick to clear our sidewalks. Loved the entry way closet for our gear before entering our unit. Everything was super clean!

After a horrible experience at a hotel in the area, we needed to find something else quickly. We decided to try Airbnb for the first time and Riley and Jason made the experience amazing. Quick to respond and they had very helpful answers to the questions. Also being completely pet friendly was such a huge deal for us. I would stay again anytime I travel back to Traverse City. Friendly, positive people and positive experience on top of a super clean and roomy place to stay! Amazing experience.

Our stay was great! It is challenging to find a place to stay that will accommodate our dog and the room fit our needs perfectly! It was so cozy to warm up in front of the fireplace after a cooler afternoon walking the VASA trails. Megan was very good communicating with us about our stay which was helpful. We would definitely stay again!

Beautiful home nestled in tranquil setting. Living area is new, clean, and comfortable. Loved the short walk through the woods to get down to the dock/beach. Kayaks available to do a bit of exploring on the lake (great fishing too). Walt and Daphne were GREAT - friendly, responsive, and genuinely wanted you to enjoy your stay.

We had a wonderful stay at the Anchor Inn! The cottage was adorable, clean, well-equipped and a great location for all things Traverse City and Leelanau Peninnsula. George was friendly and responsive. If we'd had more time, we would have checked out the sauna. We will have to try it next time, will definitely be back!

We absolutely loved staying at Motel Bear Lake. We had to change our weekend plans last minute due to a family emergency and it was stressful to find a clean safe place to stay last minute. Let me assure anyone that is weary of the affordable price - this place was perfect! It was clean, pet accessible, convenient, comfortable and had more consideration for its guest than more expensive chain hotels. My partner and I have already planned to come back and stay here. Maybe start a family tradition! Thank you for letting us stay here!

Very cute spacious room! The only thing that would have made the experience even better was if I didn’t get trapped in the bathroom haha. The doors are old and get stuck haha. It was a great trip though we will be back!
