Great place to stay and at a very affordable price. Location is a bit far from the city but other than that it was wondrful experience.

Jan and Tim were so wonderful. it felt like home away from home. always so helpful, responsive and super friendly. Always offering and asking what to eat and giving many options in breakfast.Easy check in and check out. They had amazing house, loved the room where i stayed for 3-4 days. so comfortable and cozy. If i will come back to chicago again, i will stay with them for sure. 200% RECOMMENDED 👍💙

This country house is well located, quiet, off the beaten path, but easy to reach. The rooms are super clean and well appointed. The Hosts are very social and take great care and interest in their guests. They are great communicators, and appreciate all feedback. Best advice to potential guests....must like dogs and good conversation,( and movies). And coordinate plans closely with hosts to take advantage of their local tips and advice. and Respect for house rules will make for a smooth stay for everyone. Travelers can not go wrong choosing to stay with Laura and Mike, they were/are the best.

Nam was responsive, friendly and engaging. if there was a question or problem she and her team addressed it immediately. The living room, bedroom and bathroom were spotless and very well decorated. the couches were really comfortable to watch TV. I'd stay again!

John’s place is very clean and warm, John is very friendly and helpful, the other guests in the house also very nice and quiet, I feel very comfortable as John’s place, it’s very cold recently in Chicago, John provide me extra blanket and an extra heater, I would like to come again if I come to Chicago

The house is a little gem in Chicago! While the house is older and the amenities (kitchen and bathroom specially) are vintage, it is decorated with very good taste, and they left lots of treats, so we felt right at home. There are no doors apart from the bathroom but it worked ok for us. Niki and Sean were very friendly. The house is in a great neighbourhood and there are lots of restaurants around. It is only 15min away by car from downtown Chicago! Will likely come back when we return to Chicago!

Always a great stay! This is our 3rd year staying here for our annual Chicago trip, and this has become a little home away from home for our group! Don’t want to stay anywhere else whenever we are in Chicago! The bnb is clean, updated, and in a safe area. Easy access to the highway and groceries and food. Prime location!

Jenny went above and beyond! She was super communicative & very friendly. She even let me check in before checkin time, which I greatly appreciated. The apartment has literally everything you need. All the little details and small things you could want, are there. I would highly recommend staying here for a longer extent of time, as you would feel as if you’re in your own home.

Very nice place to stay by myself on a weekend! The place was super clean and well-equipped. There were three flights of stairs to climb to get to the apartment. The place was located less than a block away from a bus stop. Would stay here again if I come back to Chicago!

Well equipped and clean Instructions are very clear

For the price of a hotel room, we got a whole apartment plus a rental car. We could make our own meals or find restaurants within an easy drive (also walkable probably outside of winter weather). A comfortable place on a quiet street. The kitchen is well equipped.

We really liked this place! A hidden jem. It's in a really nice, convenient location in a safe quiet area and is a comfortable homey quiet space. As a longtime landlord, I can tell that the owner has given a lot of thought and takes pride in presenting a well thought out, well-stocked place. It has a good selection of needed kitchen implements & equipment, with extra stuff that is seldom available elsewhere but always needed ( e.g., tupperware and ziploc bags...nice!). Provision of the little things (butter, creamer for coffee, eggs, soft drinks, beer, water, jellies/jams and homemade banana bread and more) so you don't have to immediately go grocery shopping. A perfect selection of spices needed for basic cooking. A nice quiet backyard with your own shady spot for morning coffee, a convenient location not far from the "L", this place is one of my favorites and I hope we can stay here again.

James was a great friendly host who gave us more than i expected. Leaving snacks, amenities, and entertainment accessible to us. Any accommodations you may need he will definitely be supportive of it. 10/10 can’t recommend enough.

Everything was perfect! Enjoyed the room and breakfast. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

A lovely room, clean and cozy, in a great location. Very walkable! My room was first floor street-facing and I didn’t notice any outdoor noise (expect a little rumble from the train). Laura was incredibly responsive and helpful. I’d stay here again. I didn’t want to pay for parking, and I’m familiar with the neighborhood, so I chose to park several blocks away.

Fair value for the stay

It was a wonderful stay with a very hospitable host. We loved the access to the beautiful kitchen with instant hot water for tea. The homemade baked goods were a delicious treat in the morning. The room was immaculate. The back rooms face the tracks for the busy Chicago Transit Blue Line, so if noise bothers you, ask for a room facing the street.

Mary's place was a great location for our short trip to Chicago! It was a short Uber drive from the airport, and a short drive to the All-State Arena. We did arrive late at night due to flight delays and opted for an Uber versus the train. I am glad we did cause it seems like the train station is under construction for the side we needed and would have been a bit more of a walk departing from the other side, but definitely not a dealbreaker or anything. The house is a short walk from this breakfast place that we actually went to twice during our short stay, with other options nearby. Overall, the house felt cozy and clean, but we did struggle with getting in the bathroom first thing in the morning with the other guests in the house during our stay. Mary was very responsive and a great host to us during our stay. The bed was comfortable as well and the room had amble space for a large suitcase, a carry-on, and two large bags with space to spare for two people.

This is my new favorite!! Patricia and Joaquin were the best hosts, from their hospitality to sharing their beautiful home and a wonderful homemade breakfast. Honestly, I did not want to leave, and do hope to return.

Nice chill spot

Nazneen and Mehtab went above and beyond to make my stay exceptional! I was a long-term guest while finishing my travel nursing contract, and this home was the perfect location for my commute to the hospital. The house itself is like an art museum. It’s full of color, charm, and rich with history. During my stay, I had the pleasure of creating several unique items with Nazneen’s Pursenality Specialty Handbags, which added a special, creative touch to my experience. Another thing I loved was the sound of the train in the distance. It was very cozy and helped me sleep better at night. This stay made my final weeks in Elgin truly enjoyable, and I would gladly return in the future! Thank you for treating me so kindly and opening your beautiful home. Even when I was sick towards the end, I felt so taken cared of with the hot teas you both made for me. Also, your cooking and food is so delicious. I left inspired to cook more after the meals we shared. Thank you so very much:)
