Vacation rentals with lake access in Dare County

We had a great weekend here. Place was very clean & cozy! We enjoyed the hot tub and how roomy the home was considering we had a big group with us. Location was great, as many restaurants & activities were in close proximity. Nancy was very responsive with any questions/concerns and even recommendations for the area. We would stay in a heart beat whenever we travel to OBX again!

Beautiful home above a garage surrounded by amazing oak trees. Very quiet. Not directly on the water but easily accessible with access on the dock, kayaks, and paddle board. Kids and I enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others. Close to beach and good restaurants.

Stayed during a duck hunt and worked out perfect. Everything with the house was as listed. Check in was easy and instructions were clear.

This was our second time staying at Joyful Dolphins and it’s a great fit for our active family of four. The bikes were a hit and the host was helpful and responsive when we had a couple of questions. We love the easy access to the trail along the sound. The beds were comfortable and we appreciated and the additional blankets since the evenings were cool. Thank you for a great spring break trip!

Sheila’s place is exactly as described and was a perfect getaway for our small family. We had our two young kids and the abundant space in the main living area was perfect for play. The view and sunset was spectacular. Will definitely return!

We had a great stay, and highly recommend this space! Vjollca was exceptionally responsive and helpful. It was a great perk to be able to park under cover and walk right into the unit. It’s a cozy little space perfect for two!

Really enjoyed the condo it was a perfect base camp for a variety of activities in the OBX. There was a well stocked kitchen which was great as we did a lot of home meals. The condo was nicely decorated, and the beds were super comfy! James was easy to contact and communicated back quickly if asked a question. Was a great stay.

We loved No Ordinary Sunrise! Thomas was a great host, and we would definitely return to this beautiful home again. It was spotless and the location is great for anyone looking to adventure around the Outer Banks.

My wife and I stayed with our two kids and my parents (and their dog) and had a great time! The house is cozy but comfortable for 6, with a good amount of living space including a very nice sunroom. Amy was friendly and helpful in our communications and proactive at checking how things were going, and helped ensure we had a nice stay the whole time. Staying on the sound was beautiful, especially the sunsets. The house is right on a great multiuse path which is perfect for walking or biking to the nearby coffee shop or for exercise. Grocery stores and restaurants are close too, as are destinations like Jockey's Ridge and the Wright Brothers memorial. Two little things that made me happy were walking past the Muscadine vine in the front yard, and the color of the mailbox: a light blue which made it unique and easy to find when driving down an unfamiliar street. If your group is the right size for it, Safe and Sound is a great place to stay, and Amy is an excellent host!

Our second visit in three months, my husband and I returned to the Best Box for a longer stay between Christmas and New Year’s. Five nights was perfect and let us forget all our troubles. Amanda has thought of everything you could need. Even some lovely Christmas decorations that blended it beautifully with the rest of the interior design. Amanda is a super host - so thoughtful and responsive and wants to make sure you get the most out of your time at the house. Whether you want to be active on the water or chill out with incredible views, this is the perfect home to do everything and nothing. We can’t wait to come back to this very special place.

This cottage was perfect for our family's spring break trip. It was peaceful, quiet, and a quick walk to the beach! The cottage itself was wonderful--clean, decorated wonderfully, and surprisingly spacious!

We enjoyed our stay and found the home well equipped. The turtles are fun to watch. This is a very unique home and a short walk to the beach. We would stay there again!

Great house and great host. Had to make a last second change from a previous house we were staying in and Michelle was able to fit us in the night we asked and even before our allotted time. Made sure we had everything we needed and was always responsive. Very appreciative for her and her flexibility. Home was clean and had everything we needed. Would recommend to stay here.

Our family loved spending the week here! The incredible kitchen is so well stocked and fun to cook in, the beds are all very comfortable, and the location is great - easy beach access and beautiful views. It’s walkable to a lovely coffee shop and movement studio, and close to any and all amenities you may need while still feeling private.

We totally understand and agree with Tanya being listed as a Super Host with 5+Stars! From making the reservation until checkout, Tanya made certain that we had absolutely everything we could possibly need for our stay, from extra toiletries, beach towels, sunscreen and even a sewing kit! She is responsive to messages, provides tips and suggestions on trips, places to visit and local restaurants! The house is pristine yet feels like home! We will definitely be making many more trips and this will be our “ home away from home!”

We enjoyed our stay at Michael's. Check-in was flawless and easy. We checked in just right before the sunset and the backyard view to inlet was the first thing that hit us all; it was beautiful. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. We loved the walks around the neighborhood, and to the beach with our dog in the morning. Michael's recommendations on restaurants and view points were very helpful. If you just want to relax and enjoy a quiet and peaceful break, this place will deliver.
