Farmstay vacation rentals in Cumberland County

We had a girls weekend in Maine, where 10 of us stayed at Krystal's home in Old Orchard Beach. It was the perfect location, close to Portland, Cape Elizabeth, Kennebunkport, and the beach itself in OOB. The home was minutes walking to the town and beach which was perfect! The 3 floors were spacious and every room in the home had its own charm making it the perfect gateway! We even changed some of our plans to stay in more and enjoy the beautiful home! There were plenty of beds and bathrooms for us 10, and have two separate fully stocked kitchens was also a huge bonus! We particularly loved the large dining table space and ate all our meals in there together. While the home made our trip, thee hospitality and responsiveness of Krystal helped make the travels that much easier and seamless. They were very communicative of arrival plans and departures and went above and beyond by stocking the fridge with beverages, sharing helpful recommendations and tips, and a lovely note!

Thank you, Patty and John, for hosting us at your lovely place. We stayed at the Scatter Good Farm for four nights during Bowdoin’s commencement weekend, and it was absolutely perfect. The setting was peaceful and serene—just what we needed. The house was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. Our daughter especially loved making friends with Lucy the dog and the goats—it added such a sweet, personal touch to our trip. The farm was just a short drive to Bowdoin, which made getting to campus events easy and stress-free. The hosts are wonderful, welcoming and super responsive. If you’re looking for a quiet, beautiful place to stay near Brunswick, this is a true gem. We would absolutely come back!

Windbrook was an extremely beautiful, comforting, inviting, relaxing place. It was close enough to Portland and other places to be convenient, yet far enough to really provide a calm, peaceful environment surrounded by nature. John and his wife Julie were great, they thought of everything. The cabin itself had a lot of character, and in particular the bed was extremely comfortable. We slept very well. We definitely would like to return, as I'm sure other seasons of the year are just as beautiful at that location.

We had the best weekend here! Paul was so responsive and helpful. We enjoyed having the option to go down to his brewery and hear the live music or just hang out at the yurt / by the campfire! It was a quick drive to Kennebunkport too. We would love to come back, it was awesome!

Cozy cottage with very comfortable bed. It was nice and warm despite frigid temps. Hosts were very responsive & accommodating with plowing the driveway. Beautiful grounds I’d love to see in the summer. We would definitely recommend staying here

The apartment is cozy and just a few minutes away from the beach. It is fully equipped with everything needed and offers more than enough space for 2 people. There are a few restaurants nearby but a car is needed. Can definitely recommend this place :)

The cottage was very comfortable. While there were many other houses/cottages on the street, it was fairly quiet (especially after Labor Day!), the walk to the beach was easily accessable, the salt marsh behind us was full of egret activity and very relaxing to just sit and watch the natural habitat. We had a wonderfully relaxing week, enjoyed the seafood and went on a couple daytrips to see lighthouses. A great vacation - just what we had hoped for!!!

My friends and I had a great time staying at this Airbnb. The host was very responsive and made everything easy for us. Our favorite part of the stay was definitely the barn. It was spacious, cozy, and perfect for hanging out and playing games. Highly recommend!

What a wonderful location for our family to celebrate Bowdoin Class of 2025! Rob's house was beautiful, peaceful, and plenty of room for our family. We loved having a bedroom on the first floor for elderly parents. The dining room table was a favorite gathering spot to visit with family. Unfortunately the weather was rainy and we were not able to take advantage of the beautiful gardens and outdoor space. We LOVED watching the robins nest from the living room window - so fun to see the babies! Thank you Rob for being a great host and so responsive to any questions we had.

My girlfriends and I had an amazing time staying at Tara’s farm. It is in rural Buxton which is a bit secluded, but it made our stay so peaceful and relaxing. When we wanted to go out on the town, it was about a half hour drive to Kennebunkport and 45 minutes to Freeport, which was easy, scenic drives. Tara was so kind and helpful from the time we booked to the day we left. She was communicative about things to do nearby, how to check in & out, and we even got to chat while we watched her take care of her horses. Overall it was such a fun first stay in Maine and we will be going back in the future!!

We loved our stay, private but not too far from town or Pleasant Mountain. The place was warm clean and comfortable. Our host was responsive and hospitable. we hope to stay there again.

Dan and Jane have a beautiful home. They were extremely kind and I can’t thank them enough for allowing me and the kids to meet their horses. It is a wonderful property on a serene landscape. The pictures don’t do it justice. We will certainly be back.

If you're looking for a beautiful rustic place to stay in Maine and get away from the city and its light pollution, I highly recommend Stephanie's listing! Being surrounded by trees, the sounds of farm animals, and the stars at night was so lovely. Stephanie was friendly and also prompt with replying. I would definitely stay here again if I came back up to Maine, esp at the price point.

It was lovely to stay at a proper old-school B&B, and Amy is the perfect host. The breakfast was delicious, and the chickens, cats and goats were a highlight. I particularly appreciated Amy accommodating my coeliac disease for breakfast. Would recommend!

This was the perfect place for the 13 of us! Plenty of sleeping space, generous and flexible hosts, and lots of things to keep a big group entertained! Kitchen was also well equipped to feed a big group.

Second visit- and still a great place to stay! We last visited during COVID and were impressed at how clean and cozy the place was. This time we came back and used the house as a home base for hikes and adventures in the area. It was as nice as we remembered and we spent a wonderful long weekend there.

Our family had a wonderful stay at Flanagan Farm. Our kids loved exploring every nook and cranny of the barn connected to the house, and even created a special "kids club" in the upstairs area. The kitchen had everything we needed and we ended up making a beautiful dinner one night with fresh produce from the Portland Farmers Market (on Saturdays). Mike was very helpful and responded quickly to all of our questions. I would highly recommend anyone to stay here!

Seth and Maura’s place was perfect for my needs. The apartment is roomy, comfortable, and bright. I felt right at home preparing meals, relaxing on the couch, and getting good nights’ sleeps in the large and cozy bedroom. Access to the trails on the property is a wonderful bonus, with winding loops through a variety of habitats and tons of bird activity. To top it all off, the Saturday morning farmer’s market on the property is a wonderful way to provision yourself for your stay, with lots of local providers of veggies, meats, cheeses, breads, and flowers. I also enjoyed watching and hearing the farming activity, from mowing fields to loading trucks with produce. Overall, a great experience that I hope to repeat.

Had an amazing time, house is absolutely beautiful. The area is super quiet as well which we all appreciated. All 6 of us who stayed there this past weekend highly recommend staying here. ☺️

We had a fantastic stay at Luke's place on Chebeague. Unbeatable location, steps to the boat yard. Cozy cottage with all the amenities you need for a great stay. Biggest surprise of the weekend was the screened porch - spent hours enjoying meals, cocktails, card games, and other memories out there without bugs/ with a lovely water view. Overall, a magical weekend on the island and hope to be back soon!

We can’t say enough good things about this stay. We came for our honeymoon, and were met with flowers and a few other treats from the host as a gift. How sweet! As far as the property, the cottage is perfectly sized for two or three, and is designed delightfully. It is on a shared lot with the family’s primary residence , but feels very comfortable and private. A close by walk to the water as well. Inside, you will find everything you could ever need from pots and pans, spices, towels, and the best recommendations for the area. We’d build our own version of this cottage to take home with us if we could. We hope to one day be back and will always remember our amazing time in Harpswell.
