The New Castle Inn

Upstairs efficiency apartment on Main Street in historic New Castle, Virginia. Convenient to everything in town. Microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker, hotplate, hair dryer, and ironing board are in room. Queen bed with a queen pull out. Smart TV has a few local channels with the ability to use your Netflix, Prime, or Hulu. 4G cellular service through Sprint, US Cellular, or Verizon. WiFi is free. Amazing handcrafted cabin located in the center of the "Roanoke Triple Crown" (McAfee's Knob, tinker cliffs and dragons tooth trails) just minutes from each trail head. Cabin is tucked away from everything. No other houses can be seen from the cabin. The cabin overlooks a beautiful pond with a small waterfall cascading in. Cabin was sustainability built with trees from the 20 acres it sits on. McAfee's Knob trailhead is 10 minutes away, Andy Layne trailhead to tinker cliffs is 9 minutes away.

Wineries, orchards, and hiking nearby. Friendly dogs may occasionally visit from my mother’s house next door. Built in 1939 as a fishing cabin by a gentleman who incorporated box cars as rafters and beams, dates still visible since removing the attic. By far the best place I've ever lived. I decided to share it with others who love to explore, who love listening to the voice of the creek or who come just to sit on the porch high above the creek with a spouse, friend, family, or alone. Their 2 bedroom 1 Bath home is located right in the Town of New Castle, where my granny was the Treasurer for many years. It’s fully furnished and features eat in kitchen, washer and dryer, and fenced in yard. Walking distance to town… and It’s not real far from Roanoke or Blacksburg. Close to Wilderness Adventure, and it’s less than 27 mins to the Furthest Trailhead in Va’s Triple crown!

Unwind in a spacious tiny home on a working farm with vegetables, herbs, fruits, dairy goats, sheep, and chickens. Enjoy the views, farm fresh food, local hiking and swimming holes, or if it's cold, cozy up by the wood stove! We offer sliding scale farm-to-table dinners on weekends. We love sharing our farmstead with guests and also understand if guests prefer tranquil time to themselves. We are a 20 min drive to Dragon's Tooth, and 10 minutes to VA42 (Kelly Knob or the Keffer Oak).

Virginia's Triple Crown Lodge (Shuttle)

This recently renovated barn loft is located a 0.3 mile walk from the AT and just off the Transamerica Trail (cycling). This secluded retreat is located within 20 miles of Blacksburg, Fincastle, Daleville, Salem, and Roanoke. The host is an experienced AT hiker and offers shuttle service to local trailheads, grocery stores, laundromats, etc. The first 20 miles are complimentary, with a $0.70 fee per additional mile.
