Bed and breakfast vacation rentals in County Offaly

Perfect very classy two night stay near the end of our holiday. Christina’s breakfast was absolutely delicious. Real plunger coffee. Really nice sitting room and dining area. Beautiful garden & very nice pub for dinner nearby. Christine phoned ahead and made a booking for us at the castle in the “pub library“ for dinner on one night. Christine also gave us an idea for a superb 7 km hike on the Castle grounds, that we accessed via a short walk from the B&B.

Put simply, you can't ask for a better location in Athlone! It's a bit of work to get your car parked somewhere that doesn't make towing your bags to the BnB a bit of an issue -- but that's because you are, literally, in the heart of the town. Once parked, there is no need to touch your car again. From Anthony and Vinny's, you are a five-minute walk to Sean's Pub (and many others), Michelin-level restaurants, fabulous shops, historic buildings, a beautiful river view -- the list goes on. The accommodations are cozy, to say the least. My husband is a big guy and we had to do some navigating around each other -- but other than that, rooms are incredibly clean and comfortable. The shared lounge area was very handy for making tea and coffee and/or for storing some of our own snacks. Wonderful addition to the BnB experience. Stairs might present a bit of an issue for older folks getting luggage up/ down -- but Vinny met us at arrival and was there to help out.

Thank you Rosalind, I had the most amazing time in Tin Jug studio. Firstly, the location is very central in Birr, 6 minutes from Kelly’s pub for Traditional music night, very close to Sanjay’s Indian and Tony’s diner, and 1 minute from a lovely river walk and park. If you need a private place to stay in Birr, this is it. Rosalind provides you with the utmost courtesy, tending to any need you may have and giving great local recommendations. On top of being a great host Rosalind is an incredible person, full of warm energy and patience. Tin jug studio is so full of character, and the photos do not give it justice. The second you enter the magical courtyard you are in awe, immediate feeling serene and safe. Rosalind left me some lovely treats for my stay, all enjoyed on the beautiful treetop balcony. The bed is very comfy, fits two people easily. The shower is great, and lots of floor space for yoga and movement. This place is seriously enchanting and makes your creative energy flow!!

John and Mary were so lovely and welcoming! The room was very clean and the perfect amount of space for the two nights we were there. They gave us a breakfast which was perfect, and answered any questions that we had about Portlaoise! Portlaoise is a quiet town and it’s hard to find things to do if you don’t have a car, but our stay was great! John and Mary were wonderful and I would highly recommend this place to anyone passing through Portlaoise!

I've stayed with Bernie twice now and I absolutely love the space. It's a short, easy drive from Tullamore and other amenities. The breakfast and sitting room gets such nice light in the morning and afternoons, it's very hard not to tarry there longer. The ensuite and room are as listed and very clean. Hairdryer and flat iron provided with small vanity mirror. Bernie is a wonderful host, responsive and thoughtful. Highly recommend to others looking for some quiet space in the country.

Jeans BNB was very relaxed and I felt right at home there.Jean was so welcoming and friendly.The room was spotless and the bed was very comfortable.I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
