Beachfront vacation rentals in Colchester

This was our second time staying at Darcy's place, and we came back for a reason! Excellent location, far away enough to feel private, but still close enough to a lot of different towns and things to do. The cabin is cozy, clean, and well equipped for a lakeside getaway. As the listing mentions, this cabin is not insulated so it can get chilly. We were there on a pretty chilly fall week (40s and rainy), and found that the electric heaters and extra blankets worked just fine to keep us toasty. Just bring some extra layers to wear while they get running. The outside patio and firepit area were gorgeous, though we didn't get to take advantage due to the rain-- something to look forward to for the next stay!

Beautiful lake house! Beachfront area was wonderful for all water activities. Easy access to the Champlain Islands which had tons of fall activities going on. House is loaded with everything you need for cooking and clean up.

This place is so wonderful! Everything is provided for your comfort. Rayna was great in communicating an issue about one of the toilet is not working and offered a full refund if that would be a problem, which it was not at all. The location is great. Easy access to the lake for swimming or kayaking (kayak/canoe is available for use). It has a nice patio for sitting while enjoying the sunset view. This makes it to the list of favorite places to stay.

This exceptional lake house provided the most welcoming space we could have asked for to celebrate our family and to spend time together. From heated floors on the cool nights to the beautiful piano to the awesome "grown-up-sized" Jenga, we filled our days with settling in together and simply enjoying! We are so grateful for Dina to sharing this wonderful home with us!!

We had two perfect spring days. The cottage was a perfect place for us to explore from.

We stayed here in winter, needing to be in the area for family holiday gatherings, and it was very chilly that week (in the teens only!). The house is clearly made primarily for the summer months, but it is totally sufficient in the winter. The heat source is only in the front room, but we kept the ceiling fans on and there were lots of extra blankets! They used the space of the house very efficiently, especially downstairs with the bedroom off the kitchen (has a nice Murphy bed and sliding wall panels). The kitchen was sufficiently stocked for basic cooking/baking. While the water is drinkable, we found it does have a taste we didn't like, so we bought a jug of water to keep in the fridge. No issues with bathing or brushing teeth or dishes or anything. We did get to walk on the frozen lake, which my kids loved! There were people ice fishing as well. Overall its a cute little lake cottage! Heather was very responsive, flexible and helpful!

Great place to stay right outside of Burlington. (Visiting my daughter at UVM) Easy to get to and plenty around to do. The scenery was amazing- took some beautiful pics of the sunrise and sunset! Kitchen had everything you need to cook a nice meal. Beds were comfortable too! Would stay here again!!

Everything was great! Doug talked us through everything, was accommodating to the fact we had multiple bass boats to park & plug in, and it's a nice private little area. Right on the water, nice dock space and just being in a rustic cabin on Lake Champlain can't be beat. Fully equipped kitchen, nice screened in porch, a fireplace & wood, plus - lots of books and games to help end an evening or rainy day. We'll definitely be back!

We chose this camp because it was on the center line of totality for the 2024 eclipse. Neither the camp nor the eclipse disappointed! The camp is on the shore of Lake Champlain. The sunsets on the lake were incredible. Because we were there so early in the season there was no one in the neighboring cabins. It was so peaceful and quiet. Fabien was a great host. He adapted to our travel changes and met us at the camp when we arrived. He had already lit the wood stove. The camp has sulphur smelling water but Fabien provided us with about 7 gallons of bottled spring water to get us started. We thoroughly enjoyed our visits to Saint Albans, Burlington and Grand Isle. Don’t miss Niquette Bay State Park. They have many enjoyable and scenic hiking trails. They are moderately challenging with some elevation change and rocks and roots but nothing requiring specialized gear. Devyn’s Creemees was great! Lines out into the parking lot every evening for maple soft ice cream. Yum!

Ana's cottage was a perfect place to get away for a weekend. I had a destination wedding and when I told people the price and the fact they provided a canoe and kayaks because it was located on the water there were in shock because their hotel room was double the price. Definitely would stay there again if I ever travel that way.

Beautiful location and great house. Hard to beat a private, fenced in yard on the water for dogs and small children.

The views are breathtaking! Quite little cabin well worth the stay!

Charles was a very good host. The cleaning crew did not show up, but we were notified in advance and it was cleaned personally by his son. The vacuum didn’t work so the floors weren’t clean, but other than that it was a great stay! This location is so charming and is close enough to Burlington to go over for the day/night to explore!

We had a wonderful long weekend on Mallet’s Bay! The house was amazing with tons of amenities, private beach, large kitchen. Plenty of room for the five of us. Brian was an exceptional host and gave great local recommendations! All in all we had an incredible stay!

James is a wonderful and knowledgable host who is willing to do whatever is needed to improve guest experience. He was incredibly responsive to any questions or requests and was very courteous and friendly. As other guests have mentioned, he offered to go out and pick up some food for me when I first arrived. I was fortunate to have a few conversations with James about Essex and the history of his AirBnB during my stay, and I really appreciated how informative and kind he is to guests.

Chris's place is really nice with a beautiful environment. We felt very good as a family celebrating Christmas there. Chris is very responsive and always ready to help

It had everything I needed and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Anne Marie even had a fire going in the fireplace for my arrival. Even though this spot would be ideal in the summer because it's right on the lake, I found it to be very beautiful and comfortable in the dead of winter. It was plenty warm, and easy to get in and out. I couldn't be happier with both the home and the host.

Thank you, Palmer for an enjoyable stay at your beautiful lake house. We came up for a college tour of UVM and the location was perfect. It took us only 20 minutes to get there and then at the end of our day we came back to relax and unwind at your comfy and spotless home. Every room was beautifully furnished , comfortable and really just felt homey. The kids enjoyed hanging out downstairs watching movies while the adults enjoyed cocktails and talking all while taking in the amazing view of the lake. We had a wonderful time and would certainly return. Only two minor issues, one of which just might have been our own unfamiliarity with the home. The living room gets really warm and even though we turned down the thermostat, it kept creeping up. But it could have even been the fact that it was so sunny one of the days we were there. A minor issue. Outside, the railing to get down from the deck to the yard is a bit wobbly in places and may be due to be replaced soon. Also, no big deal.

On our last day we saw a spectacular sunset which was indicative of our whole stay. The star was of course the wonderful setting on the lake. It was enhanced by how tastefully the house was renovated, decorated and fully supplied with everything we needed. It truely exceeded our expectations and made for a memorable experience in the beautiful state of Vermont.

We absolutely LOVED our stay at this beautiful property! We visited over the Easter Holiday and opted to stay in and cook instead of going out,just to enjoy the beautiful home over looking Lake Champlain! We attended Mass at St. Ann's in Milton, a very welcoming, beautiful church. The hot tub on the third floor balcony was amazing!! The master bedroom had huge walk in closets to stay organized during our trip. It is peaceful, relaxing home! A nice area to take a walk or ride a bike. This is a very clean, well equipped property. The host was very responsive and friendly! Milton has a very nice locally owned grocery store, Georgia Market, everything you could need was available at this family owned store, it felt great to support the local economy! We will definitely be back! Thank you Errin!

Place is clean and modern. View is amazing. Bruce and Virginia are great to work with. Only drawback is the close proximity of the road. Not comparing value to only Vermont so possibly unfair but when compared to other places in the US as well as multiple other countries it could be a better value. We enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful Lake House with plenty of amenities in the home. The host was super responsive, friendly and knowledgeable about things to do in the area.

Staying at the Lakeshore drive cottage was delightful even though it was too cold in early April to go out on the water with any of the many available boats. The fireplace on the porch let us sit out and look over the water even in the chill, and the great chairs and fireplace setup by the water let us watch the sky change colors in the evenings. The house was clean and lovely, with windows everywhere. The hosts were responsive when we had an urgent question, and the house itself had even more amenities than were listed on Airbnb. A lovely week long stay through sun and rain and snow. Minutes away from the Colchester Island trail, and the Burlington greenway and many beaches above and below Burlington. Minutes from Winooski as well, and only 45 minutes’ drive to Waterbury, with Stowe a few minutes down the road. Highly recommend.

Stunning yard. I live a few miles away, northern north hero and I love this little strip of land and the ‘farm cottage’ feel of the house. I had a group up celebrating our 50th reunion from high school. They stayed at the place and also loved it. We would love to rent it again
