Family-friendly vacation rentals in Christiansted

My husband and two teenage kids stayed for four days. The beach view from the condo is amazing . It is so peaceful , we were often the only ones on the beach! It was like we had a private beach. Downtown is an 8 minute drive with tons of restaurants and a pier. This was a great place to stay with very responsive host !

The view from the deck is absolutely stunning and includes views of the ocean on both the north and south sides of St. Croix, including Christiansted harbor and Bucks Island. This place is located high on a hill, and the warm breezes make the deck even more wonderful. Great for stargazing and sunrises. Very private, very secluded location. Nice landscaping. The house is comfortable, thoughtfully appointed, clean and well equipped. You will need a car to get around the island. The host was responsive to all our inquiries.

Very quiet and peaceful weekend with my son. The staff were very friendly.. the place itself was exactly as described & very clean. Very simple check in & check out. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating as well.

Our family had a wonderful stay and we would highly recommend this stay. The location was ideal for us, as we could go straight down to the main road. Close to a great grocery store, pizza place and airport. You will need a vehicle for the bumpy hill. This location was perfect for getting to North Shore, easy or west of island. Pool was amazing and unique. The kids loved it. Very clean and felt very comfortable for us. Kitchen had everything we needed and there was plenty of space. View was spectacular! We will definitely stay here again. The hosts were amazing, friendly and detailed. We appreciated the hospitality. Amazing stay!

The house is in an excellent location near to Christiansted. You can sit and watch the waves all day and night. The pool is refreshing and relatively shallow if you are traveling with littles or poor swimmers. The host is super nice and responsive. We needed a few things and the host immediately responded and got them for us and was very kind. You get the entire downstairs apartment to yourself, which is nice. It's not exceptionally fancy, but it is nice. What to know: The beach is a walk away, but it's not a swimmers beach. There are sea urchins and rocks in the water. However, it's a great beach for exploring tide pools, watching hermit crabs, finding sea glass, and relaxing while watching the waves. Bring water shoes! You probably want to rent a car if you want to go into town and/or around the island. Get four wheel drive so you can travel to the rainforest and feed the pigs a beer. Go snorkeling at Buck Island; swim at the Buccaneer, Hotel on the Cay, and/or Rainbow Beach.

My teenage kids and I have adopted Gabrielles place as our home away from home. When we ponder staying elsewhere the thought is quickly dismissed as it just wouldn’t feel right to be anywhere else! From getting to know downtown Christiansted and the Boardwalk intimately -rich with restaurants, shops and personality to sitting in her peaceful Courtyard either quietly on our private patio or visiting with Gabrielle and other guests at the community table the space is perfect. She truly has created a magically warm and welcoming space as a home base for your visit.

We didn't know that all airport car rental companies run out in high season, no uber or lyft, taxis not searchable online. Kathy literally saved our trip by connecting us with a small rental car business. Also, she gave us the option to stay at her other property, that had swimming pool and walkable to many sights, while it wasn't booked, so we could be on the west city when exploring there and the central city when exploring there and the East side, no extra charge. She was easy to reach for any question, and had great advice on where to go based on our plans, and how to avoid burglary while snorkeling.

Gabrielle was the best host we could ask for! She was very helpful, accommodating, and kind. I definitely recommend and would absolutely stay again.

Great experience first time using airbnb

Our stay at Alyx’s home was amazing. We loved having our own little slice of paradise and made friends with all of the animals that reside on the land! We were definitely sad to miss out on mango season but we made sure to stop by some roadside vendors (they had such amazing fruits! Some of which we hadn’t tried ever!) - so definitely check them out! Because you’re out on the land (and it’s an island) *non-toxic* bug spray was our bestie, so heads up! We loved making our meals in the full kitchen, hanging in the living room, used the snorkel gear and had our morning meals outside with the friendly chickens (whom love quinoa!) overall, we highly recommend this location as it is near so many things while still feeling intimate. Can’t wait to return!

Debbie's place worked out very well for us. It's nice and quiet there too.

This place is a hidden gem in the heart of Christiansted. We really enjoyed being in town and would pick a beach excursion each day. St Croix has some of the most beautiful beaches we’ve seen. We really appreciated the non touristy aspect of the island. The guest house exceeded all expectations, plenty of room. My son slept in the extra room which has a trundle that pulls up and he made into a double bed. He was quite comfortable. My daughters slept in the main house bedroom which is not really attached to host’s living quarters. Huge bathroom for them was great. Perfect set up for our family. Everyone had privacy and also so many wonderful places to gather. The pool was perfect to take a dip in the morning or after a long day at the beach. The guesthouse was beautiful, so many nice touches in decor. Stocked with anything you could possibly need which was greatly appreciated. Barb and Dav were extremely helpful but unobtrusive at the same time. We fell in love with their rescue dogs. This is definitely one of our favorite Airbnb experiences and we’ve had many. Can’t recommend highly enough. So cool to stay in a historic home that has been so lovingly restored to its prior glory. Loved it.

Gentle Winds is a great spot! I’ve stayed at this complex a few times, Barbara’s place is one of the nicest I’ve stayed at yet! This was the sentiment of many in my party. It was updated, and very clean. The condo had everything we needed for my family to be comfortable. We especially loved sitting out on the porch in the morning for coffee. Barbara and her cohost were super helpful with all of our needs, and very responsive. I would definitely stay at this place again, and I would highly recommend to anyone, if you’re thinking of staying at Gentle Winds, that you stay with Barbara.

Candace was a great host! Super communicative and so nice. The location is perfect - easy walk to shoys beach, 10 min drive to downtown, 5 min from a seaside market, 20 min to point Udall / Issac Bay. The property: beautiful ! the kids absolutely loved the yard. They ran around it all day! The sea breeze and the trees kept them cool and could easily escape the heat under all the trees. The pool was great too. The house: very spacious and clean. A few things needed to be looked at while we were there and Candace was right on top of it! Definitely recommend. Nothing super fancy - really just great spot for easy, enjoyable vacation time. Our flight was delayed and Candace let us stay another few hours which was SO HELPFUL. We were able to nap the baby in a bed vs. the airport. Really appreciated that!! Thanks again!

My husband, son and I stayed here in early April. We were very pleased with the peacefulness of the location. It’s a little remote so you definitely need a car, but we were steps away from the beach and the ocean. My husband loved snorkeling in the ocean and he saw some really neat aquatic life. Marsha was extremely communicative both leading up to and during our stay. We would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful place!! The host went above and beyond what was needed! Fantastic view but I was there for work. On a side note I wanted to take the mattress home because the king bed is so comfortable. One last thing the breezes are amazing and at night just turn the fantastic AC on located right in the bedroom. Would definitely come back!!! Thanks guys!!!!

Christina was great. She was even flexible when our flight was delayed!! Location was fantastic! Views from the pool and the sounds of the ocean were serene!!

Kate’s condo is beautiful.! The condo is spacious, clean, and with an incredible view. The kitchen was well equipped and we had so many groceries and spices to be able to get cooking right away. Overall, the condo is better than the descriptions and the photos. Also, the access to all the amenities is literally steps away. Kate is extremely responsive, helpful, generous and kind. We’ve stayed at a bunch of Airbnb’s but she stands out as a great host. She answered all our questions, accommodated our requests, and gave us so many tips and hints to make our stay on St. Croix unforgettable. We’ll be back to this Island and to this Airbnb because of Kate and her amazing condo!

We had a lovely stay. Laura was quite responsive to my questions and was accommodating. Her home is lovely. The view is so serene. We would definitely try to stay there again.
