At the house at the end of a fairytale forest road, you can BBQ, make a fire, boil a Goemon bath, and enjoy natural play that can only be experienced in the mountains. There are no street lights, and at night you can see the starry sky. Spending time feeling the mountain with all your senses, which can be seen in different ways depending on the season, reminds you of the rich, peaceful time that has been forgotten in modern times. Centered on a magnificent large pillar, it is an old house with earthen walls and built-in storage, but the first floor is covered with pure cedar boards, giving it a new feel. The water area features a newly built island kitchen and a large wash basin. The bath is a Goemon bath that uses both wood and gas, so you can cook with wood or use hot water. Outside the house, there is a friendly sign cat named Aosuke, who will come up to you if you are outside. It is located about 15 minutes by car from the Ishikari Mountain ropeway, making it easy to get to the mountains.

Of course, the entire house is rented out.It can accommodate up to 6 people. Shimonada is beautiful, with mountains as well as the sea. This house is a beautiful blend of traditional and modern making it convenient but also a unique cultural experience. Mountains and ricefields are beside you, the Shimanto River can be heard. The ground floor is all yours. It's spacious with a large tatami sleeping room. This room can be divided into two though in summer it’s not advised due needing the A/C. There is no central heating. Restaurants are within 10min or you can shop for local foods and prepare it all in your own equipped kitchen.

House is just a short walk to the regular ferry terminal to Okinoshima, and15-minute drive to Enkoji,NO39 Shikoku88. This house is old but nice spacious two-story . you can use whole facility for private . The ceiling of first floor is a bit low and the bath is small. but has a good ocean view.

For more active travelers, it's a good base to explore the area. We are 9 km from Shimanto City restaurants and shopping and an easy drive to activities on Shimanto River or the beach. We do require a 2-night minimum but highly encourage you to slow down and stay longer.
