Cabin vacation rentals in Chautauqua County

As in other reviews be prepared for sulfur water. The sulfur smell is horid. However, i believe the owner has done everything he can to try to elevate it. Filters work well but they need constant flow or they can be bad instead of good. I developed rash from it. I read reviews and knew about it well in advance. The place is very comfortable and quiet location. If you listen carefully you can hear the click clock of amish on the roads. The electric heaters heat the property astonishingly well. This week we had nearly 30 inches of snow. We were sick of the snow for sure. Plenty of grocery stores and shopping nearby. Restaurants as well. Beds feel hard at first but slept like baby. No stains on sheets etc as others pointed out. Over all enjoyed our stay. IF YOUR SKIN IS SENSITIVE TO SULFUR NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU. UNTIL A PERMANENT SOLUTION IS FOUND FOR THE ISSUE. We will probably rebook in 25.

Such an amazing lil' place to find home in the woods! Many might be hesitant not having a bathroom in the cabin, thought the "Shitter", was immaculately clean, no smell, completely warm and once you place the toilet liner in, do that business... and flush, it is gone! Hot tub very spacious and hot!!! (can adjust lower if need be). The guest kitchen, food prep, get your coffee area, was very accommodating and tidy. The whole scene, feel, and folks I encountered made me want to return again and again!

Cynthia's home provided amazing views and beautiful sunsets. Our family vacation was memorable because of all the spaces indoors and outdoors that enabled us to appreciate the lake and natural surroundings. Cynthia was responsive to all of the little questions that popped up and we got to take advantage of so many restaurants and fun activities on Lake Erie and Lake Chautauqua. Our family of ten would stay again in a heartbeat!

This was a really interesting farm-stay location. We were very tempted to try out the "Cowboy Castle" space instead -- we could see the "castle" from Shepherd's Shack, an impressive piece of custom construction sticking up above the rest of the house -- but we decided we might sleep better in a separate building. Read the listing carefully. It's currently accurate: "this is on a farm and there will be some mud during melting snow. it is a new listing and does have some things not finished." In particular there's no kitchen sink in the kitchen, and no shower, but a nice bathtub pretty much in the same room with the bed. This may well change eventually, for all I know. All the fixtures worked very well. There's siding, trim work, and ceiling finish work clearly still in progress, too. We didn't need to fire up the wood stove, but it's clearly very capable of heating the space! The furniture is eclectic but very nice in its way, including an old-fashioned four-poster bed.

It was so cozy. My family visited the area to see family and to enjoy the winter activities. It is down the road from Peek’n Peak, Findley Lake and Pine Junction. The Cabin was so delightful and peaceful. We got to enjoy nature from the porch. It’s a very beautiful and clean camp site. We enjoyed our stay. Thank you!

We loved every minute of our stay and would love to go back again. Prior to packing, I had asked about certain items at the house & the responses were clear and helpful for me. There was plenty of wood for the fire, along with firestarter sticks for convenience. There was also plenty of filtered water at the house. We always bring our own filtered water for trips, so that is good to know for the next time we stay with bringing one less thing. Our daughter enjoyed seeing the exotic animals as the property borders a little farm which features kangaroo, emu, cows, a zebra and more. We stopped by the farm on Sunday after we checked out and the owner of the farm was more than happy to show us around. If you do have small children, just bring a few baby gates as I wasn't able to get the dog gate at the house to properly work. If you are sensitive to fragrances like me, just bring your own linens or towels (including dish towels ) as there is a strong fragrance on them.

Private cabin made for a peaceful stay for me and, for my dog, an exciting place to run around wooded trails and sniff. I was impressed with how communicative and responsive the hosts were, and that they were helpful in letting us know what to expect and what to pack. The cabin is truly off the grid but with cell reception. No water or electric, though they had a battery powered light, composting toilet, firepit to cook outside with wood provided, and inside stove to stay warm. Bring everything as if you were camping, minus tent/sleeping mat. What a great upgrade from camping to stay in a real bed! You can pack heavy, as the hosts will give you a ride to/from the cabin on a wagon pulled by their tractor. It’s maybe a half mile along a rough terrain road between the cabin and where you will park your car, so far enough back in the woods to feel very private and peaceful. We enjoyed our stay and would love to visit again to explore more of the trails.

Fabulous stay in Gray Birch! They really thought of everything! We didn't need many of the amenities during our short stay, but the kitchen was very well-provisioned for eating-in and all the spaces had thoughtful touches. I loved the cozy lantern lights in the bedroom and the lantern and headlamps by the door, and there was even a spot to hang the lantern by the picnic table and fire pit. I wondered if it might be a little loud with other "campers" nearby, but it was very quiet during our stay. My favorite part was sitting on the screened in porch in the morning and evening, enjoying the peaceful surroundings. The ceiling fan on the porch was just perfect on a humid night. Sadly, we didn't have time to make a fire during our short stay, but the picnic table, grill, fire pit and Adirondack chairs looked great. Several of the cabins have the fire pit on the side of the cabin, but I Iiked that Gray Birch's was in the front (if you park at the back).

Stayed here twice now. Jon has been a great host. Tons of space, beautiful setting and has always been clean. Would definitely stay again

Had an amazing time! Our host was very gracious & we had a wonderful time snowmobiling. Easy access to fuel up & hit the trails right from the cabins! Cabin was tidy w/ all the essentials. Will 100% return for more fun! Thanks!

My friend & I wanted to do something special for the eclipse. We found this cute little campsite online thinking it would just be a place to stay the night before, but it highly exceeded our expectations. We loved the little camp ground, our pristine adorable cabin, and our overall stay! The layout of your entire campsite is well thought out for maximum enjoyment, comfort, and fun! We loved the rec center and got to use the fire pit. They made everything so easy, even providing the wood! Most importantly, while MANY establishments on the path of totality were price gouging, we appreciated the reasonably priced accommodations and the fact that we could rent for just one night. Our stay was short lived since we got up early as we were on a mission to #DriveToTheSun (which we found in Dayton OH!), BUT we will definitely be back to take advantage of the screened in porch on the cabin, live music in the pavilion, & cute little coffee shop! 10/10 experience. Thanks again!

Perfect for the long weekend and the location is close to the places we wanted to be: Midway State Park, Bemus Point, the lake etc. We enjoyed using the grill. Also appreciate the extra things they provided like air mattress, firewood, bug spray etc. It was a great first cabin stay experience for our toddler!

We couldn’t have planned a better weekend getaway. The grounds were beautiful. The cabin was clean and comfortable. Leigh and Matt are friendly and accommodating hosts who wanted us to have the best experience they could offer and they met every expectation we could have imagined. Absolutely beautiful and wonderful! This is our 2nd consecutive year visiting the Lakefront Log Cabin during February. It's a beautiful location that is friendly for your canine friends! Plenty of room and tons of amenities. It's definitely a quick and timely getaway from the doldrums of winter in NE Ohio! Can't wait to visit again next year.

Wonderful private space, no tv makes it a great space to reflect and get away. Wooded area with plenty of state forests near by makes it a great place if you’re looking to explore. Love how updated the cabin is and just how clean it felt. Will definitely return!

Jenna's place was just what we needed! Peaceful, cozy with a wood burning fireplace was everything and more than we had hoped for. The babbling brook and beautiful surroundings were absolutely lovely and we were sad to have to leave! We will certainly be back!
