Family-friendly vacation rentals in Cephalonia

We had an amazing week at the end of May, the pool and view are just incredible and even better than they look in the pictures. Having a local shop and restaurants within walking distance was a complete bonus too. Would recommend boho for breakfast, Trapazaki bar and restaurant for food or a few drinks and Gefri (we didn’t try any others close by). Lovely beaches are also within a 10 minute drive. The air con is also super effective if you’re worried about the heat.

The villa is absolutely beautiful. It looks just as it does in the picture with the incredible view and clean, considered interior. But what you can’t see is the beautiful construction. Every detail is perfect. Kothreas is at the top of a mountain but it’s easy enough to drive to the delightful seaside villages of Fiskardo and Assos and the extraordinary beaches in northern Kefalonia. The mountain village is charming and rustic with walnut, fig and pomegranate trees, stone buildingd and surrounding hillside that smells of wild thyme & oregano and where you hear goat bells. Nearby there are authentic and excellent mountain tavernas and larger villages like Maganos. The pool is absolutely lovely. We paid to get it heated which was money well spent as our kids stayed in it for hours. Foula and her team were incredible hosts. So kind, informative and welcoming, and it was amazing having a housekeeper every second day. Thank you so much - we hope to be back! Efcharisto!!

Ionian Breeze is a quiet beautiful house in a lovely location! We had a wonderful time exploring all the local areas by foot and with a car ( much needed on this island to get full benefit) Christina recommended some amazing walks, we found some wonderful places en route- ate in some great restaurants- Extraterrestrial in Exogi (book in advance for evening and not for the faint hearted drive!) Nostimon in Frikes ( can walk to ) Calypso in Kioni (great service and food, very pretty little harbour) Delicious in Stavros ( great local food and very interesting historical village, better to go in car) Found a great beach on one of our walks Marmagas, it was a little bit of a hike from Frikes (or do the whole circuit from Ionian Breeze ) there is a cabin there and the most delivious food! To come back to Ionian Breeze was a bonus !! Thank you

This was our second stay here and we knew what to expect. The changes made since our last stay were exceptional. A warm welcome, a responsive host who made every effort possible to ensure our stay was exceptional. Would highly recommend staying here

We hadden een heerlijk verblijf hier! Zelfs als we niet op.pad waren gegaan zouden we hebben genoten van het mooie uitzicht vanaf het ruime balkon op de mooie tuin, zee, de (huizen trgen de) bergen, en boten.. Ook de woning zelf vonden we erg fijn en sfeervol ingericht. Extra pluspunten waren o.a de warme ontvangst, dec aparte fitness-kamer voor privé gebruik, fijne bedden plus gevulde koelkast en de lieve herdershond Lila die steeds aangelijnd was en vrijwel niet blafte. Ook de omgeving was mooi met een leuk strandje en het centrum van Lixouri op loopafstand en andere mooie plekken goed te bereiken per auto.

Very responsive host ,location was perfect for Myrtos beach and nearby amenities . Driving in this part of the island is also good, with reasonably good roads.

We had the most amazing stay here last week. It is so quiet and secluded with only their home on the road after us, but at the same time, just a 5-minute walk (if that) down the hill, and you're in the center of the village. The house was spotless and contained everything you would need and more. They even filled up the fruit bowl and fridge with snacks and drinks for our arrival! They were also so accommodating with our flights as our arrival and departure times were a little unusual, but it was no problem for them at all. We've come back so relaxed, which is exactly what we needed, and we already miss the view every day. We already cannot wait to get back. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay

Wow. What a fantastic stay we had at this beautiful villa. The views really are incredible, the villa is clean and spacious and the outdoor spaces are also lovely giving you some options as to where to sit and relax. We were a group of 9. My brother and his family were on the ground floor, us on the top floor which meant we could all be together but also have our own space and not be woken up by each other's early rising children! George was helpful in his communications and Daniel, the property manager was on hand for check in and gave us useful local recommendations. Swimming pool was pristine. There is also one beautiful small beach within walking distance with a lovely calm bay. Plenty of other beaches and restaurants within 15-20 minutes drive. also recommend Anna's tavern for traditional food which is a 7 minute drive. Highly recommend this villa!

Heaven on earth!!..Breathtaking views..so peaceful & surrounded by nature..A bright light pristine space indoors & outdoors is a space to chill & soak in the views for hours..Can’t rate it highly enough..& Natalie is wonderful & so helpful..We just fell in love with it!..

Es war eine sehr schöne Zeit in der Unterkunft. Die Gastgeberin Maria hat sich sehr bemüht, es uns so schön wie möglich zu machen und stand für Fragen immer zur Verfügung. Wir haben dort das Osterfest verbracht und wurden von Maria zu einem tollen Fest eingeladen, bei dem wir uns sehr willkommen und wie Freunde der Familie fühlten! Vielen Dank Maria!! Der Strand in Pessada ist etwas schwierig über einen steinigen Küstenweg zu erreichen. Aber die Insel ist wunderschön und es gibt traumhafte Strände. Ein Auto sollte man haben.

I had a wonderful stay. Communication was perfect. I was greeted by a beautiful Dutch Shepherd and the cutest cats. When I walked into the accommodation there were snacks and a bottle of wine set up waiting for me. There were plenty of towels and beach towels. Shower caps, a sewing kit, body wash, face wash, etc. It was so thoughtful and kind. The garden was my favorite space to spend time, I watched the cats play, lizards run by, all kinds of beautiful birds. In the evening I was visited by an Owl. I can’t recommend this space enough! I had such a beautiful stay and hope to come back soon.

Costas’ place was excellent, and we loved our stay in Kefalonia. Though we hired a car, we stayed, for the most part, around the Air BnB for five nights, and had a great time. There is plenty locally: bars, cafes (Cleios is especially good), restaurants and, of course, the beach. (A car will help you get to the beach in 3 minutes, rather than having to take the reasonably tiring walk back up the hill, so we’d recommend that.) Costas and Christina were brilliant hosts: attentive, flexible, and generous. One morning, Costas even sent us, delivered, a selection of Greek pastries. We couldn’t recommend it, and Kefalonia, enough!

We loved our stay at the cottage. The silence is almost deafening only interrupted by nature & the sounds of goat bells. The cottage is well equipped with everything you need & more spacious than it appears in the photos. You definitely need a car for this location. Tasos is an excellent host, very quick to respond to any questions we had & extremely helpful. I would highly recommend him as a host at any of his properties.

Wonderful and peaceful place. It was clean and tidy. Zicos was very kind to us, leaving some welcoming fruit and helping with tips for beaches, villages and the necessary hot-spots to enjoy Ithaki. Sunrises and sunsets in the terrace looking at Cefalonia were overwhelming and made us stay at the place more than we thought. We’ll repeat for sure.

Ο χώρος ήταν εύκολα προσβάσιμος και οι οδηγίες της κ. Λαυρέντιας ήταν πολύ κατατοπιστικές. Αρχικά το δωμάτιο είχε ιδιωτικό parking, που μας έκανε μεγάλη εντύπωση και ήταν ωραίο που το αυτοκίνητο μας φυλασσόταν σε κλειστό χώρο. Το δωμάτιο ήταν υπέροχο, καθαρό, πολύ ευρύχωρο και ακόμα καλύτερο από τις φωτογραφίες. Η κ. Λαυρέντια, ήταν ευγενέστατη, μας υποδέχτηκε με χαμόγελο και ήταν πολύ εξυπηρετική. Μας παρείχε και άλλο σετ από σεντόνια-πετσέτες και μια μέρα μας έφτιαξε εκείνη πρωινό, με προϊόντα από τον κήπο της. Το πρωινό ήταν υπέροχο και υπερπλήρες και μια πανέμορφη κίνηση προς εμάς. Το δωμάτιο απέχει μόλις 4 λεπτά, με αυτοκίνητο, από την κοντινότερη παραλία, τις Άμμες και μόλις περίπου 15 λεπτά από το Αργοστόλι. Ήταν από τα πιο όμορφα δωμάτια που έχουμε διαμείνει και θα το προτείναμε ανεπιφύλακτα. Επίσης η κ. Λαυρέντια ήταν πολύ επικοινωνιακή και μας βοήθησε σε ό,τι κι αν χρειαστήκαμε.

A great, peaceful place. Here in late June- early July but always able to get a lounger by the pool. Lassi only 10mins walk away, Argostolli also close. The family who run the place could not be more helpful. They helped us so much when our flight home was cancelled.

Fantastic villa, very well maintained in a beautiful part of the island with easy access to lovely restaurants and great beaches! Highly recommend.

We had a wonderul stay at this villa. The location is perfect with easy access to Fiskardo and all the lovely coves nearby and the pool was spotless and so refreshing. We really enjoyed the expansive outside space and the host was very responsive. As others have mentioned, the master bed was fairly hard (and we're not normally fussy), but otherwise the villa was so well equipped and had everything we needed. The beach toys they bought for our children, was a very kind touch.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 7 night stay at the villa. Stefanos was a wonderfull, accommodating host. He greeted us at the villa to show us through and explain how everything works and provided recommendations for restaurants and site seeing. He also introduced us to taxi driver Makis, who was amazing. There are no walkable restaurants/cafes near the villa so I recommend hiring a car otherwise taxis are available. I can highly recommend staying at the villa and Stefanos is a great host who will ensure you have an enjoyable stay.

The hosts were so lovely and helpful. They very kindly gave us a welcome hamper of food for our first morning and gave us early check-in and late check-out. They even gave us a hamper with nappies and some supplies for the baby which was so kind and thoughtful. The villa is beautiful, clean and is even nicer than the photos can show. We hired a car as there isn't a huge amount in the immediate area but it's so peaceful and it's really easy to get taxi's if you don't have a car. We will definitely book again on our next visit to Kefalonia. Thank you again x

We had a fantastic stay at Stella di Mare, the hosts are very welcoming and warm. It has a unique location with everything you could expect from a vacation housing. The only downside is that the road to get to the building is narrow and steep. Otherwise everything is perfect.

Beautiful villa in a beautiful location. Well equipped with all you need for your stay. Amazing space indoor and out. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this villa and will definitely try to get back next year. Thank you Nikos & Athinaida 😎

We were in villa “Christin” at Leventis Villa’s… that’s the first one of three identical places before you reach the pool complex. The villas are quite old now, so probably need a bit of an update, though everything you need is provided (apart from maybe a microwave), and our host (also “Christin”) continually checked if everything was okay for us. She was very, very helpful when Nespresso coffee machine went wrong and made sure that her weekly linen change and cleaning was done around our needs. We spent a lot of our time there simply chilling out on the veranda in the shaded Sun, or inside when things got too hot, as the interior does keep cooler. Lovely and peaceful generally as we were lucky that there were no noisy neighbours during our stay. Pool is large and clean, and it was just us laying around it most of the time. All in all, a lovely place to stay… and truth be told, could be even better if/when the villa is modernised a little bit.
