Danie and Narina are lovely guests, very easy to communicate with, very nice and accomodating. Their place is something special, in the middle of « nowhere », horizon as far as the eye can see, you can see the sunset and the moon rising at the same time, and their place is very well equipped ! The road to arrive is quite long and the wind can wake you up while you sleep but that’s part of the trip ! We recommend

Ben’s place is perfect if you’re looking for peace with amazing views. Ben also made bread for me, which was a nice touch! Highly recommended!

Words cannot describe how special Klein Riviertjie is. I chose it as the place to propose to my partner, under the starlit skies of the Karoo, and it was perfect. The house is immaculate with all the amenities one would require; think of it is a refined "cabin". We particularly loved the donkey geyser and fireplace, and the swing couches on the porch. Quarta and her family are absolutely lovely and ensured we were well taken care of. I hope we can go back one day, as it it will forever hold a place in our hearts. We totally recommend it! Some advice for those wanting to visit, the route to get there is a long stretch of dirt roads starting near Beaufort West. Some sections are not in great condition due to recent rains in the Karoo. We managed to get there and back in a small hatchback but it was not easy, and in hindsight would have made a plan to use a car better suited to those kinds of roads. Also, there is zero cell signal once you leave Beaufort West, so do keep that in mind.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Marina and Hans’ place. The cottage is spacious and well-kitted with everything you would need. Everything has been thoughtfully considered, from the immaculate cleanliness to the stylish and comfortable interiors and the peaceful garden surroundings. Marina and Hans were warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming without ever being intrusive. Communication was easy and they were always available if needed, which made the stay feel even more relaxed. The location is ideal, private and tranquil yet close enough to explore the area. I left feeling rested and recharged and would return in a heartbeat. Thank you again Marina and Hans, an exceptional stay in every way.

Ankommen, durchatmen, loslassen. Ou Waenhuis ist ein zauberhaftes Cottage, absolut ruhig und wunderschön gelegen in der weiten Landschaft der Kleinen Karoo. Gemütlich und geschmackvoll eingerichtet, mit vielen liebevollen Details. Nach einem langen Morgenspaziergang über das großzügige Gelände der Farm, oder entlang dem wundersamen Land-Art Pfad am Bach, lädt die schattige Stoop zum Verweilen ein. Hier entspannt der Geist, umgeben von der Schönheit der Landschaft und Heleens kreativem Ausdruck. Heleen und Karel sind die warmherzigsten Gastgeber, die einen aufs herzlichste willkommen heißen. Dies war unser zweiter Aufenthalt auf der Aswater Farm und wir werden wiederkommen.

Wij waren 3 nachten daar en ik hoop echt dat ik er ooit veel langer naartoe kan. Prachtig gelegen. Je hoeft eigenlijk niet van je terras te komen om te genieten. Maar er is ook zoveel te doen in de omgeving. Zowel dichtbij als vanuit Calitzdorp. We bezochten oa de winerys in Calitzdorp, ( ook een kleintje op westoewer)en uitstekende restaurants.We gingen rondrijden in de bergen naar de red stone hills. Maar gewoon wandelen in de buurt naar de rivier en de rondwandeling doen, is ook een aanrader. Het huis is net of de tijd is ooit blijven stilstaan ergens midden in de vorige eeuw. Maar alle moderne comfort is wel aanwezig. Zalige douche trouwens. Jack was meer dan behulpzaam en zijn reacties kwamen bijna onmiddellijk. In de ijskast stond een lekkere fles rosé op ons te wachten. Kortom volmaakt voor ons.
