What's one thing you look for when you are searching for say a cottage or a cabin or a homestay? Quietness, serenity with a pinch of belonging. Property at birdwood cottages provide you just that, situated away from the hustle bustle of the city and also the crowded Mall road of Dalhousie, this place submits you to just relax. Great location, beautiful interiors, great caretakers who make great home made food of your choice. touristy spots are not too far away, ample car parking place, good wifi. The best part of the stay has to be the 2-3 km flat trail circuit in the woods to rejuvenate your mornings. i think late September to early December is the best time to enjoy the flora & fauna of this place before the snow engulfs the area.

We visited Archie's place in June '17. This place is in Barlow Ganj area of Mussorie and is secluded from the maddening crowd of Mall Road. It boasts of a breathtaking view from the sitting area and makes one feel very close to nature. The room interiors are done wonderfully and are of absolutely top-notch quality . A special mention is due here about the hosts themselves, Archie and Sanjeev. They made us feel at home and comfortable from the time we walked in and went out of their way to help us with suggestions and even transport arrangements. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is wanting to be in nature's lap and yet not comprising on luxury! All in all, a great stay.

Its an amazing peaceful serene place…. The cottage is so beautiful and d view is breathtaking…..walks around the cottage …. Relaxing in the cottage…. Everyting about that place is so beautiful……A MUST VISIT…. Jayati is extremely helpful and an amazing host… I’ll definitely visit again….Also Dharampal was an amazing help…. Отличная территория с пляжем, озеленением и прогулочными дорожками. Если вы с детьми - это то, что надо. На территории есть отличное кафе. За территорией тихо, зелено и чисто, проселочные дороги для пробежек/прогулок. Лагуна Сити в 11 км от трассы. До ближайшей природной достпримечательности, Григорьевского ущелья, ехать всего 40 минут, так как оно расположено прямо над Григорьевкой. По поводу самого жилья - всё как на фото, может, даже немного лучше. Всё необходимое есть. Для семьи из трех человек - в самый раз. Пару раз были перебои с Интернетом, но если вы приехали отдыхать, а не работать, для вас Алиман - очень дружелюбная хозяйка. Всегда на связи. По всем вопросам была готова прийти на помощь. Думаю, приедем ещё.

Our stay at Vienna Lodge was beyond wonderful—it honestly felt like coming home. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like family, not guests. The warmth, the care, the vibe—everything was just perfect. A huge thank you to Kailash Bhaiya, who went above and beyond to make our stay smooth and memorable. Always smiling, always helpful, and his food? Absolutely delicious. What made it even more special was having Sanjivani Aunty, the lovely host, right there. She took care of us with so much love—whether it was arranging ghee for our baby or sending us dal from her own kitchen. She genuinely made sure we were comfortable in every way. And then there’s Matilda, their adorable dog, who became our baby’s best friend and added so much joy to our stay! Our little one had the best time playing in the garden, exploring flowers, and just soaking in the calm, cozy vibe. We left with full hearts. Vienna Lodge has become our forever favorite in Nainital, and we can’t wait to come back.

We had a fantastic stay at this Airbnb, which was the perfect space for our young family. Our baby had plenty of room to play around, and the entire place was spotless. Ravi, the caretaker, was absolutely wonderful—he went above and beyond to take care of all our needs, running errands and ensuring we were comfortable throughout our stay. The kitchen was well-equipped, allowing us to prepare meals with ease, and we loved spending time in the beautiful garden and sitting area. The big trees and serene vibe made it a truly relaxing spot. The place has two levels..The upstairs unit is ideal for couples, while the downstairs unit is perfect for families—gorgeous and spacious. The location couldn’t have been better, with plenty of great places to eat and explore nearby. Rupi is an amazing superhost, incredibly kind, with amazing communication from start to finish. She made sure we were comfortable and had everything we need. This is a must-visit spot if you’re in Dehradun.

A perfect place for long stays. Located at the perfect distance away from the main city so as to have all the facilities without all the noise and traffic. The house is nice and cozy with a fully equipped kitchen. It has a large garden with a nice desk to work on. Lots of cafes nearby. There are many interesting spots nearby for exploring, like Sethan, Jibhi, Kasol, Sissu, and more, all of which can be done as day trips. I would highly recommend this place, especially for longer stays.

The stay went great. The place looks exactly like in the pictures and the location is very peaceful with good accessibility to shops and markets. Zakiya was a very welcoming and responsive host and she ensured that we don’t face any difficulties during our stay. I had a wonderful stay at this 1BHK homestay in Dehradun. The place is perfect for solo travelers, couples, or even small families. It includes a cozy bedroom, a clean bathroom, a comfortable drawing room, and a fully functional kitchen. The kitchen was well-equipped with all the basic amenities—utensils, gas stove and even an RO water filter, which was a great plus for long stays. Everything was clean and neatly maintained. The location is peaceful and safe, yet well-connected to main areas. The host was very responsive and helpful throughout the stay, ensuring a smooth check-in and being available for any queries. I highly recommend this homestay if you’re looking for a private, quiet, and homely place in Dehradun.

My stay at Anil's place was excellent. The room was very clean and the views from his property are fantastic. This is in a quieter area of Manali - but the market and the famous Mall road is easily accessible. Anil is a local of Manali and has been around for many decades - and is a treasure of local knowledge and a wonderful person to interact with. Highly recommended.
