Vacation rentals with a pool in Castelo de Vide

This was a lovely retreat near Marvão. The house has all the amenities we needed and the pool was amazing. It was around 38 degrees when we stayed and having an electric fan was definitely a need for one of the rooms, however there was always a fresh breeze in the early evening that cooled the house down. Mosquito netting over the windows also helped keep the bugs away. Oriane was a lovely host and attentive to any needs. Because of its location I would recommend a robust car to negotiate the final 500m of gravel road which has plenty of potholes and rocks, drive carefully! Highly recommend a stay here.

Ideal stay to escape the city clutter. The conditions of the surroundings give opportunity to recharge.

Spent three weeks in this charming house. Absolutely unique place. Situated in a hidden valley with beautiful surroundings. Lovely walks directly from the house, nothing other than natural sounds make relaxing in the garden a real pleasure and the lack of light pollution makes for stunning star gazing. Daniel is an excellent host for whom nothing is too much trouble. We loved staying here and would recommend it unreservedly.

We had a fantastic stay at Casa do Alto. The weather was really bad so we spent a lot of time in the house, getting cosy and enjoying the views. The kitchen is well equipped to make your own meals. The host is very responsive. The path to the house is very narrow and was quite slippery. I'd recommend taking the first road into Escusa when coming from Castro de Vide.

Everything was perfect, we loved the accommodation, it's perfect for disconnecting and being able to do activities nearby. Recommended

Great place to stay with a group of friends. The underfloor heating makes the house very comfortable in winter and the kitchen is well equipped and has a large hob which makes cooking a breeze.

We spent a week at Peter and Rosemary's lovely BnB and we could have stayed longer! The home itself is beautiful with a fully appointed kitchen, comfortable beds and a cozy atmosphere. We lucked out on warm weather, so we spent most of our time on the porch, with gorgeous views of the surrounding area, and in the pool. What a great way to relax after a day of touring local towns and riding horses through the countryside. We also found the local hiking trail that provided a fun way to see the history and beauty of the countryside. It was walkable to the trail from the BnB. Peter and Rosemary are amazing hosts. They welcomed us so warmly and made us feel at home. We enjoyed their friendship and their hospitality. We would absolutely come back to their place when visiting Portugal again.

This is our second stay at this property. It is situated in a lovely area below the hilltop medieval town of Castelo de Vide. The grounds are spectacular with trees, plants, rock work and charming details. There are several exterior spaces for quiet reflection as well as dining. There are views both large and small. A rooftop terrace is perfect for morning coffee accompanied by chirping birds, the tinkling of bells from the necks of sheep grazing near by, and the sound of the fountain feeding the pool. Or for cocktails at sunset. It is heaven! The house is quite large, with ample space for gathering both indoors and out. Suzanne, the hostess, is very responsive and helpful with suggestions about places to see, local restaurants and events. We will be back.

Wow, what a beautiful place to stay. Had everything you needed. Great sized pool and garden, all the amenities you could want and very relaxing. Various trips out you can do or just stay by the pool.
