My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets). I do have a 50.00 pet fee per dog up to 2 dogs only. It is located just above the entrance to the Smoke Hole Canyon with great fishing, beautiful scenery along the paved country curvy road. You can drive through the canyon and come out on Rt 28 just below the Smoke Hole caverns and gift shop. Then continue to Seneca Rocks and hike the rocks or drive to Nelson Rocks for zip lining.

The house is 20 minutes West of Harrisonburg VA and JMU.

This is a basement apartment in the heart of Canaan Valley. Less than 10 min drive to everything: Timeberline ski resort, Canaan Valley ski resort, incredibly fun local XC ski area Whitegrass, art galleries, amazing food options, breweries, and even distilleries! We loved our stay at the cabin. The location was perfect for us. Everything was just as described. It’s a WELL stocked kitchen, clean bathrooms, comfortable beds and furniture, the solo stove and the hot tub were all contributing factors to our great stay. But the view and the property!! We couldn’t get enough of the beauty. The hike from the property was a favorite as well. The town of Davis was a perfect stop for supplies so that once we got to Patrick’s we were home for the night. Patrick was great to work with as well! Thank you for sharing your home.

We loved our stay here! We felt right at home in this lovely little cabin. It was especially wonderful to have our dogs welcome, with no hidden fees like so many other places do! The space was thoughtfully laid out, artfully decorated, and well provisioned! There were welcome extras like local meat for purchase in the freezer and a totally stocked pantry in case anything was forgotten. We plan to return!

Merry Jo's place was a beautiful, clean and comfortable mountain home with stunning views. It is extremely private and peaceful (I think we saw one vehicle during our stay), and a great place to relax, meditate, and refresh. True escape! We saw deer daily and enjoyed the hiking nearby. It is close to restaurants (Davis, WVa) but the kitchen was well-stocked and we did cook out a few times. Merry Jo is a wonderful host, and she is quick to answer all of our questions, etc. We highly recommend and hope to visit again in the near future.
