Family-friendly vacation rentals in Butte

Celeste was an excellent host. She met us when we arrived and made sure we could get in. She mentioned if we had any questions to let her know. For a peaceful getaway I would highly recommend Celesta and her guesthouse. Would definitely rent out again.

Linda and Alan's description of their RV space is very accurate. I've just spent the last month there (June/July 2018), and enjoyed my time completely. Although there are residences down the hill from the property, it feels like being in the foothills of the Elkhorn Mountains. The views are quite beautiful, and there's ample hiking and biking opportunities from the site. As Alan and Linda describe, there was another party staying on the property during my entire stay. That did not impact my sense of privacy (which I enjoy). Linda and Alan were very friendly and helpful. They had suggestions for hikes and activities and kindly brought me drinking water. The bathhouse was available anytime I needed it, and was quite adequate. Their water supply is gravity fed (so no worries about water in a power outage). The water pressure stayed constant and the on-demand water heater worked perfectly. As described, the space probably wouldn't be workable for a large motorhome or RV, but it was great for my VW camper van. There was even room for my 4x11 ft utility trailer and touring motorcycle. The access Rd is dirt and rather steep, so I had to exercise caution on the motorcycle, but found it to be quite doable. The covered canopy and table was particularly nice as I took most of my meals there, and enjoyed reading in the mid-day shade. Jefferson City has no services so you have to make sure to get your groceries and supplies from Helena etc. If your rig fits the description of what will fit at this site I highly recommend it!

Silver Star ranch was exactly what we needed. It was private and peaceful and a great place to launch two weeks of exploring from. we hit the tobacco root mountains, Virginia, Nevada, and Bannack ghost towns (Nevada & Bannack were our favorites), pioneer scenic byways and scouted dozens of off grid camping sites for next year in the various national forest. For pets, one thing to be aware at the cabin is are the prickly bears (small cactus)... bothered our German shepherds feet some. Local vet in Sheridan was great and gave us a spray to toughen pads while we were out. it really helped. We climbed the area behind the cabin too...good workouts each morning. Jim was a great host and easy to talk to. Thanks Jim!

This is a beautiful spot! The hosts were very responsive. House was very comfortable. The best part was access to the water toys and playing in the water.

I reserved one of these beautiful cabins for my sister, her grandson and his friend. They were delighted with the cabin, and thrilled with the location. The family was very friendly with advice on where to explore and things to do. They even invited my sister to go along with family activities that may have been chores to them but so fun for a non-Montanan. My sister saw moose, elk and other wildlife during their excursions around Big Hole. The boys decided they want to go back to Montana! I don't think my sister could say enough about the right choice for her stay in Montana, and especially the family atmosphere she experienced at Big Hole Resort.

Such a cute historic home. Instructions were clear and helpful, and the area was so close to historic Butte but with easy parking and so quiet and peaceful. Ample amenities and a killer price for everything! The yard was great for the doggo to stretch her legs and we appreciated a full kitchen, clean space, and cozy bed. Would HIGHLY recommend if you're staying in the area. Wish we could've stayed longer!

Nice little cabin on a remote ranch with beautiful surroundings! We loved all the horses grazing nearby and saw lots of deer and even a moose by the river! The river was a bit further from the cabin than we expected, but still loved staying here and enjoyed some true peace and quiet! One thing to mention if you plan on using the outdoor firepit - bring your own firewood along since the owner doesn't provide any. The host was very friendly and responsive to all my questions and would definitely stay here again!

We stay in a lot of Airbnbs all over Montana, and we enjoyed this space greatly. Loved the rustic decor and the dog friendly layout. We walked up and down the streets and shopped, dined, and sampled beers at the brewery. We’ve been to Philipsburg before, but this is our favorite space. Loved the cozy wood stove, gas range, and comfy beds in the upstairs loft. We will return😊❤️

Fran was an OUTSTANDING host: kind, thoughtful, responsive, and available. The apartment was as completely described: spacious, unique, comfortable, and located near great restaurants (O'Donnell's and Saturday Donuts, to name a few) and walking trails (Montana's Copperway). Stunning views from rooftop terrace. Staying at Fran's was like staying at a close family member's/friend's place. Check in and check out procedures were uncomplicated and clear. Can't wait to stay at Fran's again!

This place was wonderful. I love historic homes and this really takes the cake. It is beautifully appointed and decorated. Super comfy, cozy, and perfect for my little birthday getaway. I lived in Butte for four years. It was great to be back and spend time immersed in history at the same time. Todd was super communicative, pleasant, and professional. I definitely recommend checking this place out AND Butte.

We’ve stayed here several times throughout the years and always look forward to it! The house is so cozy and just steps from all the spots in town. The perfect place for a weekend with friends and family!

Great little cabin on the Bighole River! Clean and comfortable . We enjoyed listening to the river from the deck, and the beautiful scenery. This is close to many outdoor activities , lots of options. We would definitely stay here again when in the area!
