Kildonan cottage

Johnshaven is so charming, and a great location for exploring the area. Kildonan Cottage was compact and very cozy, perfectly sized for our group of three. We particularly enjoyed the cottage garden and the Anchor Pub, as well as nearby Mill of Benholm and Pitmuies Gardens.

gorgeous flat with exceptional sea views!!! It was very comfortable with plenty space and well equipped for our family of four. We didn't realise there was no shop at all in Gourdon so don't leave essentials like milk until you arrive!! We had a great stay and enjoyed a lovely fresh meal and the chippy on the harbour! great communication and advice on where to eat from the host too!!
A spacious bedroom features a patterned accent wall and a large, comfortable bed topped with soft linens. A mirror reflects light from a window, while a wooden desk and chairs sit in one corner, providing a functional workspace.

Seagreens Cottage

GillianRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We were looking for a chilled break which also met our dog’s needs. The cottage is in a spectacular location, facing the sea with the coastal path right at the bottom of the garden. You do need a car to access this property which sits at the end of a single track lane, adjacent to the A92. The cottage was spotlessly clean, homely and very comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped for self catering. We were very lucky with the weather and were able to enjoy the enclosed garden area. The coastal path walk to Johnshaven is very pretty and only takes around 30-40 minutes where there is a pub/restaurant serving great food, excellent cafe..”Hidden treasures” and a lovely gift shop, the Starfish Studio, as well as the harbour. Claire gave us some very useful advice about other dog friendly eating venues around the area including Charlton Farm and Picsnax at St Cyrus nature reserve/beach. St Cyrus beach is stunning and is a must visit. We plan to return soon ..so much to see!

We had a wonderful stay at The Lobster Creel from 24–31 May. Returning to the area with my parents after 20 years made the trip extra special, and the cottage was the perfect base. It was spotlessly clean, cosy, and well-equipped, with beautiful, welcoming décor. The views over the harbour were stunning, and we were lucky with the weather, ideal for sitting outside and watching the tide go in and out. The location is fantastic: right on the harbour and a short walk to the shop, cafés, and The Anchor Hotel, which served excellent seafood. The lobster toasties from the nearby lobster shop were a real treat! We also enjoyed a lovely coastal walk to Gourdon, with amazing fish and chips at Quayside restaurant. Johnshaven is peaceful and friendly, and the nearby beaches at St. Cyrus and Lunan are breathtaking. This was such a relaxing break, we loved every minute and would absolutely return.
A spacious kitchen area is shown with a wooden dining table surrounded by multiple chairs. Modern appliances, including a refrigerator, are visible against the wall. Natural light shines in through a window, and ceiling lamps provide additional illumination, creating a bright atmosphere.

The Lookout

RuthRating, 5 stars3 days ago
Found the property with no problem, instructions were perfect. Managed to park on the street nearby. Walked up the stairs, into the flat and then discovered the sun room. Within 30 seconds we saw dolphins swimming by and fell in love with the place. The flat is fantastic and well maintained. Nearly everything you need is provided including a pair of binoculars. We had meant to buy a pack of cards and leave them for future guests, but completely forgot about it. (I blame the sun room) Good starting point for your morning run and the power shower is great for afterwards. The only problem is that you find yourself constantly sitting in the sun room staring out to sea with no idea what you were meant to be doing. The lookout is incredibly relaxing and the perfect spot for exploring the area. The whole family can’t wait to go back. Top tip: Check out the Yett on arrival and familiarise yourself with the recycling bin setup.
A well-lit bedroom features a spacious bed with a patterned duvet. Natural light streams in through a large window, complemented by dark curtains. A wooden nightstand and a full-length mirror add practicality, while a simple wall decoration enriches the room's tranquility.
