Vacation rentals in Breyten

We spent a wonderful Christmas week at the Flying Scotsman. The house is a gem with all the interesting light features, photos and memorabilia built around the theme. The layout of the house suited our needs with enough bedrooms and bathrooms for three generations. The amazing views from the stoep and every bedroom are spectacular and food for the soul. We saw many animals from the stoep and even an otter in the river. The house has all the amenities and facilities to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. We enjoyed the braai facilities and “jacuzzi” as we named the sink round swimming pool. The playroom/TV room was a treasure awaiting to be discovered by old and young. We did some fly-fishing, walking/hiking and visiting the lodge. This is truly a comfortable house for a family get together in a beautiful location. We enjoyed every minute.

Great stay on the farm!!

Willow Tree Cottage was a fantastic place to stay while attending a wedding at the Smitsfield venue (only 15 mins away). The cottage has a well stocked kitchen and bar, with plenty of glassware. The deck is unique and super comfortable to sit, chill and chat with friends. The location is serene and quiet with great sunrises over the dam and plenty of wildlife. Theresa is a fantastic host and answered all of my questions, quickly and effectively. And all of the instructions were concise and easy to follow. I was concerned about the mention of the dirt road to the cottage but it was very manageable in my Suzuki Swift (I just had to drive slow, especially considering it had rained). However, a vehicle with a higher suspense is definitely advised. I wish we had more time at the cottage and would definitely stay there again.

Such a lovely house. So much character and charm. The pictures don't do it justice. Really enjoyed our visit there, will definitely be recommending it to friends and family.

We had the greatest time! The place is serene with breathtaking views that made every moment feel magical. Esbie and Pieter were absolutely wonderful hosts; so warm and welcoming. Esbie went above and beyond, even taking us birding with my son and sharing the most fascinating stories about the farm. She truly became a friend to him, which was such a special part of our stay. We explored the area; which is a great respite from the hustle and bustle of city life. We loved the nearby restaurant Billiadboard, a must visit for a burger. There's also a charming little shop called Meer and Meet where we picked up homemade oils, teas, and some fun t-shirts. The neighborhood itself is lovely and the people are so friendly. This visit was just what we needed, and we’re already planning to come back in the summer. Highly recommend this gem.

We had an amazing time! Kitchen is fully equipped with everything you can possibly think of! Kitchen basics the works. Views are amazing and the staff are super friendly!! The one thing that was very disappointing was the swimming pool. It was dirty after the rain. We requested they come and clean and get the pump going but no one came. Fortunately we had cooler weather but had it been warm throughout our stay this would have been a big frustration since we have young children. Based on expectations created the pool should really recieve more attention.

Really lovely get away close to Joburg. Trevor and George were great, accommodating hosts. We had a fabulous time, with many bonfires, lovely hikes ans kids playing in the pristine river. We will definitely be back.
