The Bora-Bora Liquid Festival in December is an athletic competition which features contestants competing in the lagoon and often accompanied by many beach celebrations.

Mount Otemanu

Mount Otemanu is one of two peaks remaining of the extinct volcano in the center of Bora-Bora. Rising almost 2,400 feet over the lagoon, a visit to the island isn’t complete without a trip to the top of this mountain to take in the sights. If hiking isn’t your thing, never fear — there are many ways to experience Mount Otemanu, from four-wheel drives and boat tours to guided helicopter rides or walking along the beach.

Matira Beach
