We were so lucky to be able to stay in such a beautiful place! The beds were comfy, the surroundings were peaceful and beautiful... it was a lovely escape from the busy, city-center. We LOVED the use of the kitchen and the deck just off the kitchen. Hein was so good to have bikes available for us. There is little available directly near the home but a 10 minute bike ride along the lovely road and over the bridge gets you to all you could want. We were sad to leave our Amsterdam home and will hope Hein's home is available when we return.

The house itself is a gem, over 100 years old, yet fully equipped with modern amenities. It had everything we could possibly need, from kitchen essentials to cozy details that made our stay relaxing. The peaceful lake nearby added to the charm, providing a tranquil escape. Alie’s hospitality is truly unmatched. She was always just a call or text away, ready to assist with anything we needed. It’s rare to meet a host who genuinely cares so much about her guests’ comfort. This trip wouldn’t have been the same without her kindness and effort. Thank you, Alie, for an amazing stay! Highly recommended for anyone visiting Oudewater.

This house was a gem of a find! We loved staying right on the water (and despite the cold, our son loved swimming), having access to the boat (which we took to dinner one night!), and just the peace and relaxation of watching the water and boats go by. You feel like you’re in the middle of no where, and yet we were a very short drive to all that we wanted to do - Keukenhof, Zaanse Schans, Amsterdam, and even the coast! We walked to get coffee in the mornings and enjoyed the walk and the town. We also love that it’s dog friendly! We changed our minds last minute and didn’t take our dog along, but we were wishing we had. He would’ve loved the canal and boat!

Tolles Häuschen ruhig am Wasser gelegen. Für sehr empfindliche Menschen ist vielleicht wichtig zu wissen, dass die Nachbarsgänse etwas laut sein können und man die Flugzeuge schon hört. Nachts haben wir davon allerdings nicht viel mitbekommen. Wirklich sehr sehr sauber, neu und gepflegt. Sehr schöne Anlage. Die Gegend ist toll, vor allem mit dem Fahrrad zu erkunden. Das Meer und viele Städte sind innerhalb von 30-40 min zu erreichen. Wir waren sehr zufrieden!!!

Angelique is a super host, very responsive and on hand if you need anything answered or help with directions etc. I have not encountered a better air bnb host :-) The water cottage is peaceful and restful and has everything you need. For Amsterdam you must be either prepared to drive or happy to walk just over 1.3 miles into the town. Its a 45 min bus into Amsterdam which is pretty regular or you can drive 15 mins to a train station and make your way in from there. We had no problem with this at all but some might be put off. However the location and quiet peace by the water was super and worth it!

We had a wonderful stay at Ruud's houseboat. He was responsive and very helpful for our first stay in the Netherlands. The deck has a great view of that part of the lake and was perfect to watch the boat show and fireworks that were happening that evening. We would definitely stay at Ruud's again!

One of the most beautiful places I’ve been to. Fantastic nature, close to the major cities Utrecht and Amsterdam, cca 30 minutes by car to either one. The apartment is on the roof of the building, surrounded by succulents and flowers. The view from the apartment is breathtaking. The nature park part of the lake is a must see. The staff is very helpful and friendly, we will be back for sure!

Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit in Brunas tiny House. Es war sehr sauber und ausreichend eingerichtet, der hot tub war eine super entspannte Ergänzung zu der Unterkunft - auch wenn es ein paar Anläufe braucht, um die perfekte Temperatur zu bekommen 😊 Bruna war sehr hilfreich und freundlich. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Wir hatten wundervolle 2 Wochen in Frederikas Ferienhaus. Es war ruhig, idyllisch und der perfekte Ort zum Entspannen (vorallem auch für unseren Hund). Friederike ist eine tolle Gastgeberin :) Sie war sehr sympathisch und hat uns herzlichst Empfangen. Wir empfehlen diesen Ort definitiv weiter und freuen uns auf das nächste mal :)
