Beautifully appointed and immaculate, this little garden cottage is perfect in every way. You’re in the middle of Tilarán but are tucked back off the street in a private garden. The kitchen is well equipped as is the laundry room with laundry soap, iron, drying racks, etc. The bed is comfortable with nice linens. There is a large TV and good Wi-Fi. Raquel is an excellent host and quickly responds to any issues. Raquel’s family who live in the main house are welcoming and generous. If you need a few days to rest, relax and regroup, this place is great. I’ve staying for the past two years and plan to stay again next year! It’s a short trip to Lake Arenal and Monteverde is also nearby.

Very beautiful place and property! The views are stunning everywhere you look. If you are looking for a peaceful, remote stay, this is it! Given its remoteness and surrounding road conditions, highly recommend a 4x4 and comfortable vehicle, along with groceries for a couple days. Diego + Christina were very responsive and provided great suggestions of things to do and see around the area and property. Don’t snooze on horseback riding with Hilario right on the property - it’s amazing and the views are very beautiful!

We loved our time at Heather’s place. You can literally sit at the balcony and lose hours in watching the howler monkeys, toucans, orapendola and more go about their beautiful lives. This is a fabulous location and Heather made us feel very very welcome with great recommendations and homemade bread. Thank you so very much for having us!

We are giving 5 stars to this accommodation and to the host. The place has a lot of potential and with minor improvements we could say that we would recommend this place and maybe come back. Sergio is a great and very friendly host and has excellent communication skills. The location is idyllic for watching birds such as humming birds. Sergio even gave us to try home brewed beer and some fruits. Thank you!

WOW. This place was incredible. The view of the volcano and lake arenal was absolutely stunning. The indoor/outdoor kitchen was really nice, and this would be an amazing place to host a group. Between the jacuzzi, unique seating options, and pool- there is no reason to leave the patio area, we ended up spending a whole day out there. There is such a magical energy in this area, and Justino’s house is the perfect place to relax and absorb it all. The location is wonderful, and there are activities all around! We loved this home.

My family and I had an amazing time at the blue house. We were in awe of the beautiful scenery not only on the way to the house but all around the house as well. The river was awesome and the private stairs giving access to the river was amazing. The house had everything we needed and Anisa was extremely helpful and accommodating. We hope to be back one day!

The place was even better than we thought because the soda next-door was so good and we were even surprised by the little garden in the back and the animals plus a great view of the volcano. Most of the place feels bigger than we thought.

Alexandra is an incredible host. We spent 10 dream days at her place. She is available, caring, kind and so on. The accommodation is functional, with jungle views. It's very quiet, perfect for a change of scenery and tranquility. It is essential to have a car because the accommodation is not close to the center and other activities. I would 100% recommend!

Keylin and her family were very lovely. They made us feel right at home. Keylin also provided us a hairdryer which was really nice. There was fruit left in the fridge for us when we arrived and they made us the Costa Rican dish Gallo pinto in the morning with their home-made cheese from the cows milk, it was lovely!! Definitely recommend x

Wow! We had a great time at Tavi’s home— comfortable furnishings, well stocked kitchen, and a beautiful view amid flowers and with the sweet songs of birds. The owners were so kind to provide information on the area, which was super helpful. We enjoyed so much the delicious food and experience at Casa Italia, we enjoyed it twice. The German restaurant also has a yummy breakfast. Thanks for sharing your home with us!

Quiet, idyllically located accommodation. Bed was very comfortable. Terrace offered a spectacular view of the forest and the volcano. The kitchen equipment was sufficient. Having a fridge is great, only at night its noises are a little annoying.

All I can say is wow! The photos, as amazing as they are, do not do justice to the views. The place was quiet and peaceful. We loved waking up to the sound of birds chirping and a cool breeze. Can’t recommend this place enough. It’s a good 15 minutes from the downtown MonteVerde area and a 4WD SUV is essential.
