Guesthouse vacation rentals in Bhimtal Lake

Everything was good.... Had an amazing lake view. The last 300m was steep drive, though we enjoyed the ride. Mohit (caretaker) was very helpful and prompt. cook was making limited but good food, as good as home cooked meal. All in all a good experience.

The place is simply awesome. It is located right on top of the hill overlooking the Bhimtal lake. Be prepared for an uphill steep drive to the Magpie Retreat ! It is just a KM, though! Surrounded by lush green forest and with many birds chirping around (Magbie, Treepie, Blue Jay, Paradise Flycatcher, Thrush, Spotted Dove, Plum Headed Parakeet, Grey Headed Canary Flycatcher, etc.) The place is aptly named Magpie Retreat. Certainly carry a good zoom lens and a binocular. One can take strolls around the place. Very serene, calm, peaceful. Ideal location for unwinding. Hosts are very thoughtful. Have taken care of little but important things - Books, Monopoly, Scrabble, Cards, Umbrella, et al. Wonderful caretaker (Mohit). Delicious home made food. In summary, it is worth the vacation and value for money !

Beautiful Location, Picturesque views from the place, exactly as described... Host Neha gave amazing suggestions and Mohit and staff gave excellent service... Food was delicious... Would surely recommend this place to friends !!!

Stay was good. Although restaurant is being set up by host. The property is close to mall road and walk is around 300 m (hill walk). Caretaker and staff was very helpful.

I stayed at Jungle House Binsar recently and the experience deep inside the jungle was awesome. The homestay is set in an atmosphere where one can identify oneself with nature and have a real feel of it with birds chirping all around, rumbling of trees in blowing wind and after darkness the feel becomes amazing with nature’s steps and fragrance surrounding you. The rooms are tastefully decorated, food is basic and conveniences limited but what else can you expect in such a place “far from the madding crowd”. The hosts Mr Aditya and Ms Kalpana are polite with great sense of hospitality with all effort to make your stay enjoyable and safe. Do visit this place even for one night and feel the stunning silence of nature. I wish Mr & Mrs Aditya all success in their activity.

Better than what we hoped for and we even extended our stay . Location is perfect and they have tried to keep the raw beauty intact with modern amenities. The hosts Mohan ji and Ankit are very friendly, easy to reach out and ensured we are comfortable. Food was amazing as well at the restraunt. Definitely will visit again 😀

The place is full of peaceful vibes and picturesque surroundings. You have to cross 1.2 km off road area to reach there, it was an amazing experience in itself. Situated in tranquility of nature and surrounded with flaura and fauna. I would definitely recommend this property to the people who want to enjoy peace. Homely feeling as the delicious food they serve is cooked with simplicity. Found this place at the very last moment and i must say that’s the best prompt thing it did. I visited with my family and they thoroughly enjoyed it. Thankyou to Aditya and his wife for being great hosts.

Had a lovely stay at The Foliage over the long weekend. The location in Sunkiya village is peaceful and surrounded by beautiful hills—perfect for a quiet getaway. The rooms were clean, cozy, and well-equipped. What made it truly special was the warmth and hospitality. The host was incredibly kind, always checking in to ensure we were comfortable. She even arranged a bonfire, which brought all the guests together—felt like hanging out with old friends by the end. Gopal, the cook and caretaker, was equally sweet and made delicious meals throughout. It felt less like a stay and more like being welcomed into someone’s home. Highly recommended—and I’d definitely love to visit again.

We were looking for a chilled out property where we could work during the afternoons, chill during the evenings and have safe arrangements for cooking food. This place met all our expectations. The room has an attached kitchen and it has a gas stove, all cutlery and cooking utensils. We were also provided with a Microwave so we were mostly self sufficient with things. The most favourite part of our stay was the Balcony! It’s been 10 days post our stay and I miss Nakshatra’s balcony every day! It has nice mountain view and you’d get to see beautiful civil twilight during evenings. This place also has a caretaker “BooBoo Jii” who is very courteous and would do everything to make sure you have a nice stay. Alongside BooBoo Ji we had a cook as well who cooked decent food. Lastly, we were 3 friends, and room was spacious enough to accommodate an extra bed. The only one thing that could have been better is the JioFi network in the rooms - but.. when you such a view outside why not sit outside and work with fresh air and the view! All the best Anurag. We stayed two nights at Nakshatra, and had a great time! The views from the place are stunning, the area quiet (you can hear birds chirping in the morning), the staff helpful, and the cottage spacious and comfortable! The staff cooked whatever food we asked them for, and even set up a bonfire on our request. Beautiful place!
