Two thumbs up for this rental! It's in a great location away just a short drive away from the town itself with a nice view on the veranda. The place itself is cozy, well appointed, and a great value. Three separate sleeping quarters, including three single beds in a loft and two separate bedrooms. Ideal for families or small groups. Communication with the owners and also the on-site help was excellent. They were quick to respond to a couple minor issues and even bailed us out of a more significant problem. Great service! Dont hesitate to book this rental :-)

We had a beautiful and peaceful stay at the Horse Cottages. Nathalie and Johanna are both so helpful, easy going and sweet. The horses and the property are very peaceful and the feeling there is magical. Sarteneja is a stunningly beautiful and friendly village and the shore is just a quick walk from the cottages. We would absolutely stay there again! Thank you!

We had a wonderful few days at TREES. It’s a beautiful place, an organic farm, ecology research and education centre. We stayed in a great cabin surrounded by nature. We cooked some of our own food but also had good meals in the main building. It was a great opportunity to meet ecology specialists who were doing research and students. We went on a fascinating night forest walk looking for tree frogs. If you like peace and tranquility, this is the spot. There is a yoga area, a library, walking trails and a swimming hole. Buses stop right outside the door and we used TREES as a base for visiting the coast. We bought food supply’s on route but meals and drinks are available. A lovely, friendly and interesting place.

A really cool location along the hummingbird highway, this unique place has a lot of land to explore and is a short drive from a lot of cool places along the highway. The staff is very nice and knowledgeable about the area, especially the biology of the area and the land is full of wildlife and cool plant life with great views of the surrounding mountains. Overall a very cool experience!

A very warm and welcoming place, it doesn’t look like much from the road but once you get inside it’s incredible. Cool staff and awesome accommodations. Can’t recommend enough. Loved it.

I was enchanted by the setting on the jade green Mopan river. I appreciate the setup quite a lot. The cabin itself is well appointed and comfortable. The communication and support was responsive and warm. It is about a 15 minute ride into San ignacio, with the unpaved road and all. Good restaurants there and I often used delivery services. Internet was largely reliable but not 100%. I got a tourist data plan as backup and I was all set, as I was working remotely a fair bit. Aliana’s was a great find for me.

The restaurant consistently provided delicious food and ample service at a reasonable price. This is important as there are no other dining options within easy walking distance. But I did not find that to be a problem at all during my stay. Vanessa was especially helpful getting me connected with a local tour operator so I could go cave tubing in St Herman's Cave (a unique experience! )

Marcela exhibited remarkable hospitality. Furthermore, she extends that warmth not only towards me as a host but also to other guests. Additionally, her friendliness, warm welcome, and readiness to assist in finding excursions and restaurants was truly exceptional. Moreover, the accommodations were beautiful, lush vegetation, a pool, comfortable beds and plenty of free drinks offered. Marcela’s place is truly an oasis that we will gladly return to.

Dominic, his wife Rebecca & Martha took amazing care of us on the ranch, starting with a large portion, delicious breakfast (included) & dinner ($7 US if requested & worth so much more) which catered to our diet restrictions (no gluten, rice, corn or dairy - has almond milk for coffee) with engaging & educational conversation which we thoroughly enjoyed. The experience of the property is very restful & peaceful where you are engulfed in nature. We enjoyed how close it is to Xunantunich ruins & the botanical gardens (has a shuttle for pick up/drop off) & it's a nice stay on your way to Tikal and Caracol ruins. The owner's a farmer, but accommodations are like a Garden Villa with lots of beautiful flowers & greenery with a unique family feel - property has been in the family over 100 years. We booked a wonderful horseback ride along river to Xunantunich at a discount through their family/neighbor - St. Leonard's tours get your guide com $20 shuttle from Belize can take you to ranch

What a wonderful place! I can't say enough great things about San Lorenzo Farms. The cottages are quaint and comfy. We stayed in one with a little kitchenette that was stocked with everything you would need. The view from our cottage was amazing 🤩. The sunset could be seen sitting on a bench on a hilltop of an old covered Mayan Homesite. From here you can even see El Castillo of Xunatunich! Morning was magical, being able to see the misty rolling hillsides of the jungle. There's roosters crowing, as this bnb is located on a working farm that's been in the family for over 100 years! We even saw some toucans and some parrotlets. Dominic is an amazingly friendly host and a joy to get to know. We spoke about a bazillion interesting topics. Breakfast at the bnb was super delicious and very hearty. It definitely set us up for the rest of our days travels. Both my husband and I wished we could have stayed longer at this fabulous bnb!

This rental offers an absolutely unique and pleasurable experience. It's like renting a hacienda with a pool in the Garden of Eden. Each morning the hosts brought us a variety of exotic fruits and veggies straight from their plantation. The house was immaculately clean and well stocked. Beds were very comfortable, AC worked great. Les is an exceptional host! He was very attentive and fulfilled each and every request we had. He stocked up our fridge with food. He organized a monkey river tour at half the price. He provided detailed information about the area, things to do and explore, suggested best restaurants and offered to make reservations. He was “on call” for us 24/7. We couldn’t ask for more. Most afternoons we were out exploring or playing in the pool, which is brand new and gorgeous. P.S. The photos do not do this place justice. Things are bigger and more spread out in person. We are definitely coming back!

Dominic's place is amazing, we really regret just book for 1 night . He is a great host, the room was super clean and we was able to see one amazing sunset. he give us great advices about our next stops, we really appreciate his hospitality. and the breakfast was delicious 😋 for sure we will back!!

Far enough away from the city to have privacy but close enough to get to everything with him 5 minutes. Really good location as far as the city traffic.

We only stayed one night but I could have stayed longer had to.e permitted. Great space, good vibes, really nice people, lots of cute cuddly dogs and cats... Nice fresh food at decent prices.

Horse Cottage is a magical place. I enjoyed every minute of my three month stay. Miss Nathalie and Miss Yohan are gracious, friendly and helpful. If you’re looking to explore the area or relocate this is the perfect place to set yourself up.

Ash helped us a lot! He gave us food/activity recommendations. He would leave lights on for us since we’d be driving back late and it gets pretty dark out. We really appreciate everything you did for us during our stay! The Airbnb looked exactly like the pictures. We thought it would be a little hot since there is no AC but the ceiling fans were able to keep the room pretty fresh (at one point I even had to turn them off because I got cold). Punta Gorda is about a 15 minute drive from the place. Overall it was a great place for us to stay.

Adorable little place in the romantic location of Sarteneja! If you are lucky, you can get a local fish dinner made for you :)

Vanessa’s place is lovely; I stayed in the Jamal cabin with my family and my little dog. Vanessa is super nice and I was lucky enough to have dinner Christmas with them. It is quiet and beautiful

Judy's place is great. You're with a few minutes of Xunantunich Mayan Ruins, great local restaraunts, and about an hour from Big Rock Falls, Monkey Falls and Rio Pools. The check in and check out process is super easy and her and her father super accomodating. Whether just visting the area or making a stop on your way to or from Guatemala (which the border is only minutes away) i recommend staying here.

Rustic, very basic accommodations. If you want to stay in an authentic Mayan, Belizean thatched roof home, this is the place.
