Beautiful Relaxing Lake Verret Retreat for 8!

This was a perfect Lake Verret getaway! The boat launch was a short ways away--and there was ample parking for two boats! This was our second trip to the place--and improvements had been made since the last trip!

TWO New A-Frames by Rip Van Winkle w/ Hot Tub

ElizabethRating, 5 stars6 months ago
We had a WONDERFUL stay here. Our families got to stay together as there are two cabins on the same property. Drinking coffee in the hot tub was a highlight for the adults. The kids loved feeding minnows in the pond and exploring the woods. Most importantly my dogs loved running on the land.
A wooden dock extends over the calm waters, framed by lush greenery. A canopy structure is positioned at the end of the dock, providing shade. The water’s surface reflects the surrounding trees, creating a serene and natural atmosphere.

Waverly Schoolhouse Cabin

Driving past the beautiful oaks, you find this amazing historical home. Walking through the door was like transporting back in time! I felt like I was back at my grandparents home. With all of the old wood, antique furniture, farmhouse sink and amazing antique dining table mixed in with modern amenities - this was the perfect spot to relax. The front porch overlooks beautiful oak trees while the back porch has space to enjoy a meal outdoors. Jeanne was very accommodating and responded to all of my questions - even my curiosity for the amazing history of the property! We hope to come back and enjoy more time in the future. Right around the corner from downtown Thibodaux and a close drive to Baton Rouge or New Orleans.

Cottage with beautiful view of Vermillion Bay

CynthiaRating, 5 stars5 months ago
Great place to stay for us and our big dog. Did a lot of walking and exploring, looking for wildlife. did a lot of birding - it was awesome. there's a marsh behind the house and a bayou across the road in front. saw some gators and beavers paddling around. we also visited the state park just down the road. nice boardwalk and of course more birding and beavers. Did not get to see black bears. Maybe next time. Had everything we needed. got to watch a storm roll in over the bay. Really enjoyed our stay. Will happily return and highly recommend.

Bayouside Bungalow at Petite Anse Farm

ChristopherRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
My crew was doing a job in town and this place worked out great for us. The location was close enough to be to and from the job site quickly but also secluded enough that it was peaceful and quiet. The hosts were responsive and very helpful from us arriving late at and night and leaving a little early. This will be my first choice of houses to stay at next time we come back.

Everything was exactly as listed! Spencer was very accommodating our entire stay, which ended up having to be extended. Was given promo to save a little when we extended which was a blessing! Also reached out before bad weather to accommodate parking!! 10/10 recommend!!

The cottage was perfect. It was just as adorable as pictured, very clean and well stocked. The location was secluded and beautiful only a short drive to restaurants and activities. Tessie was a GREAT Host ! She was great with communicating and went above and beyond with all the extras. The cottage manual had everything we needed to know in it and the snacks she provided were wonderful. If we visit New Iberia again we will definitely be staying here again.

Barn On The Bayou by New Iberia

GarrettRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Very relaxing and peaceful stay right along the bayou. We loved the character and decor of the space. The hot tub and the dock outside were nice amenities. Beds were super comfortable and there is an oversized claw foot tub and plenty of hot water. Pet friendly and plenty of room for dogs to run. A couple of drawbacks to consider…the AC generally works well, but the bathroom does get uncomfortably hot in the afternoon and early evening. Additionally, the wifi wasn’t the strongest. Finally, it is very much an old barn and not all the doors and windows seal well, so you may get a couple of 6 or 8-legged visitors during your stay. Par for the course in rural Louisiana, but good for anyone squeamish to be aware of. Overall a great spot and would stay again.
