The most beautiful place, exceeding all expectations. The views are spectacular. We breathed in peace and tranquility. A fabulous place to celebrate my 80th birthday with the whole family -- 16 of us. Everyone was comfortable in the space. In addition to being the perfect host, Samantha provided surprise extras which was such fun! Just a few of the highlights: S'mores at the firepit, lobster dinners, seals, bald eagles and fireworks. She made our stay truly memorable. My family gives the place the highest recommendation.

A great house and location right on the water. We arrived well after dark, Tom came and met us at the property to make sure we got situated. Plenty of room for a family of four and more. We enjoyed the boats and fishing and hiking in the area. The game room was nice to have on a rainy day. The kitchen has everything you need. Really enjoyed our long weekend here.

Was a great place for a weekend get together with our family. Right on the water and a great throwback feel but with all the amenities.

It’s a lovely cabin, the hot tub is a plus. It’s also fairly private since it’s last cabin of the property.

This was perfect for me, my daughters and granddaughter!! It was close to so many things and to Old Orchard Beach and the Pier. We had a great time there and would stay there again in a heartbeat!! Thank you!

Perfect for what we needed for a weekend getaway. So peaceful and a lot of interesting wildlife. We saw so many different types of birds! The hot tub is spacious and easy to use.

We’ve stayed in a lot of Airbnbs across the country and I’m not exaggerating when I say that Lydia’s place was one of the cleanest and most well-maintained homes that we’ve been in. The property and scenery are breathtaking. The numbers of birds and chipmunks that entertained us while we sat on the back deck was surprising. We ate all of our meals with the exception of lunches at the cabin and had everything we needed to prep and cook our food. This trip was all about relaxing and Lydia’s home was everything we needed.

Wonderful,private, well equipped cottage on pretty pond. Owners quick to respond to our texts. Relaxing hot tub and fantastic sauna! Many restaurants and breweries within a 30 minute drive. Book it ..... you won't wanna leave!

We had a great stay for a few days on our way to Nova Scotia. Cottage was clean and had everything we needed.

We had a fantastic time at this cute and cozy cottage! It’s within 15 minutes of basically anything in the Portland area and the cottage itself is so charming and inviting. We only wish we had planned to stay here longer!

We had an amazing time at the Aslan house with our dogs. It has a beautiful view of the lake and just a short walk to the beach. It is peaceful and quiet, super clean & cozy. The host was very friendly and we can’t wait to come back again. Thank you!!

We felt right at home at LInda's place. It is beautifully furnished and decorated and there is plenty of space. Everything was spotless. Having a washer and dryer really made a difference. The cottage is close to a busy road so there was some road noise outside, but in the cottage it was quiet and peaceful. Linda is very friendly and helpful and had put out welcome muffins for us, which was such a nice touch. I would definitely stay here again!

Beatiful cabin on the water, thoughtfully decorated. I loved the layout, plenty of seating areas and lovely decor. There is only one small bathroom which may be an issue with more than 2 or 3 guests, but worked out perfectly for us. We saw deer twice when driving down the trail to the house which was exciting! Loved using the firepit outside. The only bummer was that the dock wasn’t in the water yet. I still managed to use the kayak but would not advise attempting without the dock lol. Wonderful host, David was very responsive and had a nice bottle of wine waiting for us on our arrival. Would 100% come back

We loved it, we have stayed here in the past. We love the new kitchen island, plus the basket of snacks was very nice.

This cabin was very comfortable with great amenities (cooking ware, laundry). The beds and linens were very clean and quite comfortable. We were each given two fresh white towels. The cabin is on a dead end street surrounded by A-frames and little cabins, pretty close together, but no so much thst it felt crowded. Its licated across the street from a lake. There is lake access about 5 houses down - a few minutes walk - down the road. We stayed in May and it was very quiet at night. Mostly, we saw no one, (being somewhat pre-season). But we met one neighbor on a walk who was very friendly and took a moment to say hello and pet put dogs. The local grounds were clean.

Perfect little Maine cabin getaway! We enjoyed our stay so much. The cabin was clean, easy to find, and had everything we needed for four people and two dogs. Cannot recommend enough!

This was my second time staying at the cottage, and I’m looking forward to going back .

We are three friends who wanted to go to the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens to photograph. We were there over a 3 day weekend in early May. Nancy's house was in a great location for us and only 10 minutes from the gardens. It is located at the end of a road. The view from the living room of the Sheepscott River was quite nice. The house was very clean which we appreciated and had all the amenities for cooking that we needed. The house is in striking distance of Boothbay and East Boothbay Harbor and Pemiquid Point. Highly recommend two restaurants: The Water Street Kitchen and Bar in Wiscasset and King Eider Pub and Restaurant in Damariscotta.

We stayed at the cottage for about a week in late September and it was a perfect spot to get away from it all. The house is on a serene pond with trees reflected on the water, classic Maine. The cottage was clean and well kept with most everything you’d need. It’s in a very quiet neighborhood, so not a party spot, which worked out fine for our quiet family. We’d consider coming back to visit family. Thank you for the comfortable stay!

A very cozy, charming cottage right on the ocean! Beautiful! Would definitely recommend to all that want a secluded, private area to stay in!

I stayed at Liz and Alex’s stunning place at the beginning of September. This was either my 3rd or 4th time and I love being there. The quiet and the utter peacefulness of being literally on the banks of the estuarial river is amazing. Although I was only able to be there for 2 nights this time, I was recharged and ready to go back home when I left. On other visits I’ve taken advantage of being near the delightful town of Damariscotta, Pemaquid Point Lighthouse, Hidden Valley Nature Preserve, Muscongus Bay Lobster dock, the Audubon preserve in Bremen, and so many others. On this visit I stayed put, letting the inward and outward flow of the river soothe me while I read and wrote. On this visit I also had a nice long chat with Liz, a remarkably talented woman. See her book and ask about her films when you go.

We had a great stay at the cottage, it was the perfect size for two people. We loved going down to the water to explore tide pools and seeing the lighthouse.

We felt truly comfortable and at home in the Knotty Pine Cottage. We spent 19 days there! My husband was working again in the area and the job site was 5 minutes away. On his days off we took advantage of hiking the numerous Boothbay Region Land Trust properties. We highly recommend Porter Preserve, Oven's Mouth Preserve and Oak Point Farm. We loved walking around beautiful Ocean Point and an afternoon on Popham Beach. We also spent an afternoon reading our books at Barrett's Park. The house is well stocked with everything you'll need to prepare meals and there is a Hannaford Grocery store 10 minutes away. We recommend The Thistle Inn in Boothbay Harbor if you enjoy crabcakes that are made from scratch. We're looking forward to our next trip back to Southport and hope the cottage will be available. Many many thanks to our responsive hosts! They made us feel welcome and comfortable in their home!!

Very quiet and cozy area to spend our holiday weekend! Plenty of space for the family to hang out and play games, and a kitchen we were able to cook in almost every meal! It was a very comfortable and clean home that we were grateful to get to enjoy on vacation. Not every day we Michiganders can find a place as beautiful as here at home to spend time away, but this cottage and the aesthetic in southwest Maine in general is a place that certainly measures up!
