Farmstay vacation rentals in Barlavento Algarvio

What a fantastic, authentic, charming, comfortable and hospitable place to enjoy the Algarve. We wanted to find somewhere that was in reach of the beaches, but not a dull apartment and something with character. We found this place in the search and it looked too good to be true - lovely character, a pool, off-street parking, outside dining and close to the big towns on the coast. We thought that we would need to travel a long way in land to find it, but this was so ideal!! Just 15 mins either way to Albufeira or Vilamoura/Quarteira and just 10 mins to Falesia beach! Easy access to tourist spots, but then we could return to a quiet, farmhouse idyll with its own pool to relax. Manuel is a terrific host and was waiting to meet us, even though I was late due to issues with my car rental. He showed us around and was helpful during our stay. Ignore other reviews about the Wifi, it is perfect and I worked on it all week. Also, I got a nice, sharp knife for the kitchen drawer, so sorted! :)

We had the best stay at the wine fame of Guillaume. The apartment was very cosy and had everything we needed for us and our 10 month old baby. The location was great. Close by the city center and the cliffs but very quiet and rural. Guillaume and his assistant Paula where super nice and friendly. We definitely come back some day. Obrigada!

Unique location close to the castle hill. Beautifully renovated old house where we felt like home. Walkable distance to nice cafes and restaurants. Easy drive to stunning Atlantic Coast. Good WiFi connection and great facilities when you need to work remotely. Very approachable and friendly hosts. We can highly recommend this place.

The house is beautiful and had a nice stay. Enjoyed the house and the heated pool. Unfortunately, we were bothered by a power outage, so we had problems with that the first few days. They've done their best to fix it as best they can. The area is beautiful. We picked up fresh sandwiches at the supermarket 500 meters away.

We had very nice days in the nice apartment. It is quiet and idyllic and the children had a lot of space to romp. It was stocked with everything we needed. Unfortunately we had some bad luck with the weather and it was cold and rainy. I hadn't seen when booking that there is no heating. However, we were able to heat the apartment very well with the fireplace and enjoyed the evenings in front of the warm fire. We would mist definitely visit again. Thank you for the beautiful days and the delicious homemade fruits and vegetables!

Monica’s place was great for our stay. It turned out that we had rain much of our 6 day stay and it was damp. Monica’s unit had wall mounted heaters (in the bedrooms and main room) that worked well. (These provide air conditioning in the hot months). Additionally the unit was spacious, clean and well laid out (which gave us space). The bed (we used only the primary bed) was comfortable and there was an additional warm blanket in the closet. (This speaks to the thoughtfulness.). The location is quiet (for sleeping) at night and is very convenient to tour (drive) around the Algarve.

This beautiful house was a wonderful little gem overlooking the picturesque Silves. Getting there- Research your route and you will find the house just fine but if you’re hiring a car we would recommend something that can happily drive you “off road” The House- Beautifully presented just as seen in the photos. The view was breathtaking from the moment you walk through the doors. It had everything you needed, including space between rooms for privacy, individual bathrooms for each room, plenty of cooking/eating spaces and a nice size pool with a fantastic view. It is very private so you can really relax in to your holiday. Our host- Andreia and her team were great! She provided instructions and knowledge as we travelled to the house and was readily available at all times. We had a lovely friendly welcome from the whole team! We’d highly recommend ditching the package holiday, booking this air bnb and supporting the locals and the wonderful things they have to offer!

If it was possible to give 10 stars fom 5 I would do so. We directly felt at home and Willliam was the perfect host. We will definately come back.... Fantastic place. We had great stay!

What an amazing place. The stars, the nature, the hosts. We barely left the place as it was too good to miss and such a tranquil, well thought out space. We will most certainly be back, as soon as we can. It's a simple place, and you have to be prepared to do water runs etc. so a car is essential. But Chris and David will help and advise where necessary. Away from touristy spots, a truly unique place with the most serene vibe.

Sergio's Eco-Villa is a little paradise! We had a fantastic stay. The house was very confortable, clean and decorated with great taste. We really enjoyed the view from the rooftop terrasse. The land around the house has lots of interesting trees and wild flowers (very green at this time of the year!) and it was so nice to hear birds singing in the morning and evening. It felt like being in a little oasis of peace. Sergio and his team were very friendly and responsive. No regret to have booked this place to finish our holidays in Algarve. I can highly recommend it and we will certainly book again, it is such a unique place! Obrigado!

A nice place if you have a car

My Portuguese home! I stayed for two months - could have stayed longer. The vibe of this place is wonderful, it instantly feels warm and cosy. A place to relax and recalibrate. The gardens are beautiful with lemon trees welcoming you from the entrance, almond trees blossoming and roses surrounding you whilst you dine alfresco. Kathleen was a super host, responsive and attentive. Lilian looked after me on site impeccably, even saving me after I’d locked myself out! Adriano was super friendly when he came weekly to clean the pool and look after the garden. The kitchen is great for home cooking with everything you need. The main shower was delicious and the main bed was like a dream. Everything has been thought about and is setup as a home and not as a airbnb (or hotel). Thanks Kathleen, see you again soon!

Beautiful villa. Had a great time here with my family!

We were lucky enough to stay with Kjetil for a week with our entire family. Our conclusion: a 10/10! Communication before, during and after the stay was quick and helpful. In case of problems in the house, everything was taken care of immediately. We can more than recommend the house, along with the evaluation and location. You will have a great holiday!

Spacious residence for 12 people, jacuzzi and pool are excellent, especially with the heat. Well-equipped house, ample parking for cars. Well located, with lots of things to do and see around.

We wanted a place that was quiet where we could rest but still go places easily. The room was lovely and the bed mattress was very comfortable, which is important. We slept great! The outside was very unique and well decorated and also had many very comfortable places to sit to read or lay in the sun. Our host was exceptional in all the help he gave us in recommending restaurants and places of interest. He was caring and was easy to talk to. Their two dogs were very friendly and their flock was well cared for and beautiful to see. It was a relaxing and wonderful getaway for us, and we were not disappointed. :)

A comfortable, clean and well equipped little villa in beautiful surroundings. Extremely peaceful and relaxing and only a short drive to a lovely old town with shops, restaurants and history. Ideally located to explore the area - 30 mins drive to the coast and an hour from the airport. Would highly recommend a stay here if you like to get away from the tourist traps and enjoy being surrounded by nature.

This home is a beautiful farm house in the area - you feel right at home when you arrive and it makes you want to move in. The property is so peaceful, calming and great for kids and outdoor meals. The location is wonderful and right in the middle of all of the beaches in the area. The hosts are incredibly helpful and communicative (the best communication I've encountered with an airbnb) - always there to respond to you if you have questions and help with anything that comes up. The house is also incredibly well equipped for multiple guests and a longer stay - the photos don't reveal just how many dishes, pots and pans, and other supplies the home has. As well, the windows have screens which is a HUGE plus that many airbnbs in the area do not have. If you are there in cooler or wetter weather, the house does get a little bit damp if you are sensitive to that but that is pretty common for most places in the area and the hosts have put things in place to help with it.

We had an amazing and very inspirational stay at the Cuddle Farm. More than tourism or airbnb their place is really a life project of Femke and her family. We felt priviliged having been able to experience and enjoy their little farm and entanglement of nature and culture 🙂

Thomas was and is the perfect host. Super helpful, always open and nice communication! The house itself was just great. The size of the house doesn't really come across in the pictures - it's gigantic. You live completely for yourself and have complete privacy. Gardener and pool boy keep everything around the house in good shape. We worked from here for 6 weeks - Internet impeccable, workstations and numerous seating available for calls. A car is absolutely necessary as it is a bit outside. Galé Beach or Albufeira are about 12 minutes. However, an Uber doesn't cost much either. For shopping, we recommend the Intermarché in Ferreiras or the Aldi, which is only a few minutes' drive away. Conclusion: We will be happy to come back!

The first thing to mention was how friendly and helpful Carlos was. The pictures show something of the beautiful grounds though not too many of the inside. Actually the house itself was very comfortable and the stairs were no problem. Nice to be able to do a load of laundry. One reviewer mentions problem with a low bathroom ceiling but this is really not an issue. It’s a very peaceful and quiet environment and if the weather was more cooperative we would have loved to stay longer and hike the hills.

just the place we were looking for: huge surrounding with dozens things to do for the kids (chicken, private playground, fruit trees, big patio ...), huge apartment, nice interior, 2 lovely dogs and first of all wonderful hosts (easy going, many recommendations). the house is in the middle of nature. it takes 10 min to get to Aljezur and 20 min to different wonderful beaches. one of the best Airbnbs we ever had been to
