We had a great time at La Cabaña del oso. Our host was very helpful and communicative from before we arrived. The finca is a gorgeous place and the cabaña is very comfortable and cozy. Some reviews mentioned warmth but we felt every bed was fully equipes for the cold. We especially enjoyed the orchid area and exploring the property. The views of the night sky through the large glass portions of the wall from the inside of the cabaña were breathtsking. The only bad part was that we were only able to stay a day when would would have like d to stay for 3.

If you’re looking for a place big enough for a family, with adequate space and facilities, Sandra and Timo’s place has it all! We were just two guys, but really enjoyed the space and amenities. One room has a King bed with loft, the other two twins and loft. Fully stocked kitchen with full sized fridge and gas stove and fast internet if you need to work. Gorgeous grounds, with beautiful gardens filled with birds. Marcela, Sandra’s sister came to make delicious dinner and breakfast and you should definitely take advantage of her skills! We only had a couple of days, but brought our bikes for a nice ride one day and then hiked up to Cascada Escondida the other. The river is said to be one of the best for kayaking and rafting in Ecuador, and the area has some of the best birding as well. Horseback riding, coffee farms, cheese making-there are activities galore! You won’t want to walk to Baeza or Borja, but that’s k d of the point, isn’t it? Will definitely be back to explore some more!

This is a great little cabin in an extremely beautiful valley. The views alone are worth the stay. The terabita over the river to access the cabin is fun, and unique. The cabin is not large, and is a little tight for 4 people, but certainly possible. It is well appointed, clean, and the local town is easily accessible, with restaurants, etc. Lots of hummingbirds in the garden at the deck. We enjoyed out time here, and would certainly stay again.

We have been using Airbnb for over 7 years in several countries and have never been in such a good place, easy to get to, well designed, well equipped (especially the kitchen), with a Jacuzzi that worked perfectly!, the incredible reception of Mrs. Suzy and Miguel's effective and timely communication.... TOTALLY RECOMMENDED! Before returning to Brazil, we will stay a full weekend!

Our cottage stay was amazing! We really enjoyed preparing our meals in the kitchen, which had everything needed. The jacuzzi was a real luxury, perfect for relaxing at the end of the day. And the view… just spectacular. Definitely an experience to repeat. Thank you for everything!

The house is well located, close to a shop, with a fireplace, two bedrooms, a bathroom and the entire kitchen. Check in was easy and smooth, no physical contact. There was a problem with the light when we arrived, but very quickly they sent a technician who solved the problem. Papallacta is VERY cold, and there is no califaction other than the fireplace in the house, but the blankets are very warm, and I slept very well and comfortable the truth.

Perfect spot for birders/nature enthusiasts! The cabins are simple, but incredibly comfortable, with a great view of the area and flowering plants with hummingbirds. Eladio and Toni are super! Eladio was very accommodating with preparing a super early breakfast for us before we left for birding near San Isidro lodge. The hummingbird feeder setup on the property is INCREDIBLE! Over 10 species, all showing spectacularly. What a special and perfect spot for budget-minded travelers. Easy access to many famous birding areas nearby. Oh, and the WiFi is strong! I'll definitely stay again, hopefully for longer next time!

+Surroundings beautiful, to the town a bit far for walking but with taxi only 2 dollares~ and all the places in the near like Baeza, San Francisco de Borja are very beautiful, lots of waterfalls and very relaxed atmosphere. Owner, his wife and Marco(housekeeper), super friendly and they really want that you have a nice stay. room simple but cozy and clean - the only thinks "negativ". water in the shower was not soooo hot. and the bathroom smells a bit because of the drain I think. ---- but all in one, total recommended

SUMAK Cabin, Los Arrayanes

Our stay at SUMAK was simply wonderful. From the moment we arrived, we felt like a true paradise. The cabin is luxurious and perfectly located in the middle of the trees. The view of the river is spectacular. We rented horses and visited a beautiful 60-meter high waterfall. The tour was awesome. Miguel's recommendations are very good and that's how we got to the "bird concert", where it was amazing to see so many species flying around us. We even had the unique experience of hummingbirds landing in our hands while they fed. All this is very close to the cabin. The cabin's privacy and security made us feel completely comfortable, which is a big plus. The sector looks very safe. They also have agreements with some local restaurants that bring food to the cabin. We definitely recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a quiet getaway surrounded by nature.

We had a great stay at Mamallacta. It was decorated so cute. Very unique and eclectic. Great community spaces for hanging out including ping pong table, dart board, fooz ball etc. The location was right by the hot springs, just a short walk. There were beautiful views. It was along a strip but back off the road so it felt secluded. The staff were very friendly. The food was great. Best breakfast we had on our trip.
