It is located in a pedestrian area, so it is not accessible by car, but there is a convenient paid parking lot a 2-minute walk away and free parking along the road a little further away. Close to the most important places to visit! Access to the apartments is on a comfortable ground floor but the view from the balcony of apartment number 1 is on a high floor (magic of the Sassi of Matera!)

Trullo Nonna Pina

Ancient Saracen Trullo from the 1400s, recently renovated. In a single space, an area has been created with a double bed, a small kitchen equipped with everything and with a dishwasher, a bathroom with a large shower, and a private veranda with an umbrella, deckchairs, and a table. The trullo is not isolated but located in an area with 2 other trulli used for rentals (a very small village). In front of the trullo there is a pine forest with a relaxation area and plenty of space to walk .

La piccola casa in grotta ha un ingresso indipendente. è una piccola camera ipogea ricavata totalmente all’interno della massa tufacea . Le grotte hanno un loro particolare microclima che viene regolato da impianto di riscaldamento in inverno e deumidificazione quando necessario. Nello spazio esterno, arredato con tavolino e sedie, è possibile incontrare e fare amicizia con la mia gattina e con il mio cane, un dolcissimo Border Collie . Soggiornare in una grotta è un esperienza.

My house is a typical house in Stones of Matera, partly carved into the rock and partly built in tuff. The spaces have been furnished with a hint of reference to the history of the peoples who have lived for centuries in these caves, without removing anything from the comfort that modernity has given us. L'appartamento è incastonato tra le suites dell'hotel Grotta Palazzese, affaccia direttamente a strapiombo sul mare. L'alloggio è in zona pedonale fresco e dotato di ogni confort e vi si può accedere anche con i risciò o con l'Ape Piaggio (affittabili facilmente negli appositi centri).

Walking down the stairs there is fantastic cave where it has been created a bathroom with a totally hand-made bath.

The cave in Old Town

Experience this incredible space, rich in history, located in a picturesque setting. At the center of a seaside village away from mass tourism. Natural white stone all around the room and on the ground the typical ancient and original "chianca" (medieval term meaning stone slab). I tried to leave everything as original and rustic as possible to give guests the feeling of reliving the old days when an entire family of 10 lived in this room.
