Everything was good. Close to everywhere. Free car Park. 2 bathroom, 2 bedrooms. Perfect 100% dark blinds on the windows, so you can sleep even during the Day.

The Snug met our needs exactly, and Alison had thoughtfully left many extras in the kitchen to make our stay comfortable. We were sad to leave! Perfect location for exploring one of the most scenic stretches of Hadrian's Wall, very convenient for some of the best sites. We are already planning to book again next year.

Absolutely loved my stay here! The place is beautifully decorated with so much character—stylish, comfortable, and full of thoughtful touches that made it feel like home. The setting was perfect too—peaceful, charming, and a great base for exploring the area. What really made the experience stand out were the hosts. Super friendly and welcoming, with incredible local knowledge that totally upgraded my trip. From hidden gems to the best spots to eat and explore, their tips made all the difference. Jay's Nest it's a great place to stay. Friendly hosts, convenient location, close to the centre of the village and many beautiful walks on the doorstep. Perfect base for those who wish to explore Lake District. The flat has home from home feel. The kitchen has all essentials and no need to wash up, dishwasher does it for you. Clean, working washing machine with dryer if needed. The seating area very cosy with nice views through windows, you can relax after a long day walking. Big bedroom with comfortable bed and plenty of space for storing your gear/clothes etc. Again, super clean, couldn't ask for more. Fair size spotless ensuite with good size shower. Plenty of space to keep what you need in the bathroom. Sadly, due to the weather, we were not able to use the outside area where having a morning coffee or evening drink must be super enjoyable. It was our first time in LD and we will be back to Jay's Nest, that's for sure. Needless to say, we highly recommend Jay's Nest!

We had a lovely 3 nights at The Stable ,the accommodation was very clean and good value.Situated in lovely surroundings for walking and touring.The local pubs offer great food.Maria could not have been more helpful and freindly

It was a lovely flat in a quiet location. Lots of walks direct from the door. Close to the centre and shops. Instructions for parking and access first class with photos.

What a fabulous few days me and my boys had ..I’ve never seen them so relaxed (ages 35 and 37 )x I think it was the lovely energy we felt in the beautiful Nest xx looking out over the river each morning set us up for the day. Would recommend 100% , we had everything we needed ..I couldn’t fault it ..the bedrooms immaculate and the beds /bedding were soft clean and extremely comfortable. We enjoyed the gym and pool offer also x staff there were lovely at the Swan Hotel. Thank you xx

Superb detached house, in quiet location with a cosy feel despite being very large. Amazing views and spacious gardens ideal for adventurous kids. We had a lovely time here with extended family and the hosts have thoughtfully included everything needed for an easy home from home feel. Would highly recommended staying here.

We had a lovely, comfortable stay, and the accommodation was clean and very well equipped. The location was great as it was approx 10 minutes' walk from the centre of Ambleside in one direction and about the same fom Lake Windermere in the other direction, and there were scenic walking routes from right outside the front door. We went by train and bus, and with a pre-arranged delivery from a local supermarket, it all worked really well.

The venue is stunning, the photos do not do it justice! Everyone has everything the need in each room with their own en suite and the grandness of the building is something else! You have so much space, the large garden area wraps around back and side and is beautiful with stunning views! Everything you could need in the kitchen and welcome bottle very kindly provided by our hosts! Plenty of entertainment and eating areas! When leaving one of our cars broke down and they were very understanding and accommodating! Perfect location, made our stay extra special!

What an outstanding Airbnb! The property itself was super stylish, incredibly well thought out and had everything you could have wanted for a few nights stay. The bed was incredible comfortable and so was all the linen and towels. Deborah was a wonderful host who had left a folder with great recommendations - we tried some of them and they were great. I don't normally spend too much time in an Airbnb but we felt so comfortable and at home here, that we spent an evening watching a movie. The location is also perfect - a short stroll to restaurants, pubs and the heart of Hexham. Great parking for 1 car too! I'd stay here in a heartbeat!

We had a fantastic stay at this beautiful lodge in Capernwray. The location is stunning, with breathtaking views that we enjoyed every day—it was the perfect setting to relax and unwind. The lodge itself was spotless and incredibly well maintained, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The host, Luan, was excellent—friendly, helpful, and always quick to respond to any questions we had. It made the whole experience smooth and stress-free. With space to sleep six, it’s ideal for families or couples. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway in a beautiful location.

Great location and very well equipped cottage in Cockermouth. The host Neil was very responsive and gave us loads of tips for the area. The cottage was comfortable especially the kitchen with a cupboard full of condiments and good crockery, utensils and glasses. Everything was as described and we would throughly recommend for any future guests. David & Liz

Lovely little bolthole, incredible location in the heart of the village. You’re a minute walk away from most of the restaurants, pubs and sights. Getting checked in was super easy and the place was spotless, thank you Nia!

lovely apartment which was well equipped and spotlessly clean. Great central location with fantastic public transport near by. Lottie had sent some reccomendations to visit and places to eat. Like most places Mondays are tricky finding a restaurant open. Everything was great and Lottie was a kind and responsive host who left us gorgeous local goodies to ear, much appreciated

Great airbnb as advertised, incredibly clear instructions meant checking in was easy!

We really enjoyed our stay here at Whitbarrow. The apartment was lovely, with the special addition of the balcony overlooking the beautiful views, which we enjoyed with a cuppa or two. Our boys loved the toys and the drawing that was available to play with but, of course, their highlight was the pool. Local distance to Lowther, buttermere, Penrith, pooley Bridge, Keswick etc so lots to do. We’ll be back soon! 🙂

We had a lovely four night stay in Lawyers loft. The apartment was perfectly positioned on the Main Street in Hawes, it was spotlessly clean and really well equipped. It was lovely just being able to sit in the lounge, log fire burning and watch life go by on the street below. And even though the apartment is just off the Main Street it’s so tranquil- there is hardly any noise. We look forward to returning in the future and thoroughly recommend Lawyers loft.

Nice place off the highway. All amenities are available. Good value for money. Easy to get to Carlisle city centre if you’re driving 9 minute drive.
