That Wanaka Tree House - BEST Lake Front Location

This home is absolutely perfect for families or a large group. We could not have asked for a better place to spend a week together with extended family and friends. The place is huge and spacious both inside and out, with toys for the kids and nice rest areas for the adults to relax and socialise. The location is stunning, private and so easily accessible to the lake and the trail that takes you to town. We would 100 percent stay here again if we could! Julian is a fantastic host and always did his best to help if we needed it, which wasn’t often as the place is fully kitted out.

Highly recommend⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Sonia's house is very new and clean, kitchenware and all other necessities are provided. We stayed there for 3 nights, which was such an awesome experience that the family would be more delighted to stay longer. Sonia and Peter are very easy going and always willing to help. Thanks so much and hope to see you in China.

Emily’s place is amazing! It is as beautiful as the photos show. When we arrived there was a lovely note and treats left for us. Such a nice touch - thank you Emily! Everything is the best quality. From the bedding to the towels to the awesome kitchen and contents, it’s all top notch. She was extremely responsive to any questions we had and was very helpful in suggesting things to do in the area. Don’t hesitate to stay at Rockland’s Retreat. It is the best Airbnb we have ever stayed at!

Wow! What a place! The moment we arrived we felt relaxed and calm, the combination of the sound of the river flowing, the snow on the mountain peaks, the green grass and unbelievable views immediately calmed the soul. We loved the hot tub overlooking the mountains and the steam sauna just outside of the house. The house is spacious, the linen is sooo comfortable, it has everything you could want and more. we have traveled all over the world and Rebecca and Graeme’s Airbnb is right up there with one of the best we have stayed. Thank you SO MUCH for hosting us, we can’t wait to visit again next year.

We've had a wonderful stay at Sarah's place. The house is amazing, the furniture is beautiful with so much love for little details, a veritable little jewel. We loved to light a fire in the oven, to see the mountain range through the windows, to sit at the cozy wooden dining table, and to have fresh flowers from Sarah's garden on the kitchen table. It's very well suited for kids as well. In the immediate vicinity there's a supermarket and a delicious patisserie, as well as a beautiful river and a trail (Deans Bank Track). Sarah is a very friendly host and we felt very welcome. Thank you for sharing your lovely house with guests!

Stephen is truly a gentleman and the place is absolutely stunning! The hot tub was the highlight and Stephen was kind enough to get it ready for us when we wanted. Wanaka is short drive from the vineyard and there are plenty of other great places to visit nearby! If you’re looking to stay in this region, go for it !

This home is perfect for two families. we loved playing cards and having so many other games and books to keep us busy for indoor times. We had cars so the location worked for us, its not too far walking either but we have young kids so driving was a better option. the home is large and tidy. loved having a fireplace, outdoor patio and swing for the kids.

Fantastic home to stay - modern and perfect for our family . Loved being able to sit outside and walk / run to the lake . We used the community pool and gym which was a real added bonus . The range of items left was next level and really made our stay extra special and super easy . We all thoroughly enjoyed our holiday in this beautiful home - thank you Suzanna and Michael.

This house was perfect for our stay in April (family of 5) with 1 bedroom downstairs and kids bedroom (sleep 3) upstairs. Note that the bathroom is downstairs. Washing machine in bathroom. Comfortable unit with beautiful mountain view from the downstairs bedroom. Easy to find, with a code operated door lock. Easy communication with host on arrival. Located in a quiet part of town. Short drive to lakefront.

After 4 weeks of travelling around New Zealand this has definitely been one of our favourites! The location is perfect and the views are spectacular. Communication with Deb was great and despite a hiccup with the Wi-Fi we always felt fully supported . We were sorry to leave this holiday home and have very happy memories. Debs also gave us lots of recommendations for places to visit locally, all of which were fantastic….Rob Roy Glacier walk will always be a favourite. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

The home was immaculate and the view was spectacular. The home was comfortable and had everything we needed. The host was very kind and accommodating and responsive! We so enjoyed our stay here!

The location was great, but the house wasn’t quite what we were expecting. Quite an old place with dusty carpets. As long as you don’t have high expectations it is fine, but it was still a bit expensive for the level of house in my opinion.
