Very beautiful place and property! The views are stunning everywhere you look. If you are looking for a peaceful, remote stay, this is it! Given its remoteness and surrounding road conditions, highly recommend a 4x4 and comfortable vehicle, along with groceries for a couple days. Diego + Christina were very responsive and provided great suggestions of things to do and see around the area and property. Don’t snooze on horseback riding with Hilario right on the property - it’s amazing and the views are very beautiful!

Tanyia & Rod were so wonderful! They were both so responsive and helpful. The house was perfect for a family of 4, and everything was comfortable. The location was great, and it was amazing to wake up to all the wildlife and scenery. There's a community pool in walking distance, and the club serves up an excellent breakfast (extra cost). I had Tanyia get us some groceries before we arrived, which was so helpful when you're traveling with kids. Restaurants and things to do are very close. Just make sure you use Google Maps! Thank you both for an excellent experience :)

We loved our time at Heather’s place. You can literally sit at the balcony and lose hours in watching the howler monkeys, toucans, orapendola and more go about their beautiful lives. This is a fabulous location and Heather made us feel very very welcome with great recommendations and homemade bread. Thank you so very much for having us!

We stayed at Winston's for 2 nights of our honeymoon and it was exactly as described. AC in the bedroom was nice, washer unit worked great, hot water heater for the shower, and he even left a little gift for us since it was our honeymoon which was very thoughtful. It was very close to La Leona waterfalls and other excursions that we did during the day which was convenient.

Breathtaking view of the Arenal Volcano and the lake from our room. The beautiful flowers & plants attracted hummingbirds right up to our balcony. The onsite restaurant had friendly staff and delicious food - recommend the natural juices and desserts! Loved having breakfast included. Our room was more spacious than expected. Our stay felt very safe, secure and peaceful. Easy drive to explore La Fortuna, hanging bridges and sloth tours.

We enjoyed our stay! It's a nice, clean home with scenic views in an authentic, safe community. We bought a few basics for breakfast (eggs, queso blanco, milk, coffee, juice) at the nearby community mini-market (a few blocks away) so we could make breakfast at the place. If you want fresh fruits & veggies, you should stop at a bigger market on your way (La Fortuna? Or El Castillo?). We ate dinner twice at the nearby La Terraza restaurant, which was good. We loved the batidos de fruta (fruit smoothies/shakes - 'de leche' ('of milk') . My favorite is the batido de papaya (de leche). My kids also tried the strawberry, pineapple, maracuya (and I think others, too!). We enjoyed the dishes we had there, too. Internet at the house can be spotty, but there's some cell reception, too. If you're on vacation and just checking your email from time to time and researching things to do in the area, it's fine; if you're looking to be a digital nomad, this is probably not the place for you.

AMAZING. Such a beautiful and peaceful place, the view is WAY better in real, the room are big and clean with hot water, really a piece of paradise!!! The only thing to know, there is a breakfast for a great price available. Otherwise you need to think to buy some food to eat. It is not far away from the little town where you have a few restaurants (maybe 1-2?), a little convenient store and a place to get meat but it is a bumpy road to come back to get it, so think ahead and buy it before you get there!

Wow what an amazing view! Also an amazing garden full of hummingbirds and other lovely birds. Friendly horse that came to visit twice and reached its head over the fence. Neighbor Lilander gave us a picturesque horseback ride with a gorgeous jungle hike to a private waterfall. El Castillo is a remote, steep village. The bakery is terrific and the little market is super helpful. We enjoyed La Ventanita and Fusion for dinners. Anna and the other hosts were incredibly responsive and helpful. Thank you!!
