It was a wonderful stay. The view is stunning and the hot tub was burning when we arrived. We had a lovely time!

A beautifully peaceful spot to stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our walks on the farm, and stargazing from the hot tub. The accommodation was clean and cozy. The kitchen was well-equipped, and the bathroom was neat with a large shower.

We had a wonderful stay at in La Florida and would definitely recommend for a relaxing holiday away. The house and gardens were exactly as shown in the photos and a wonderful place to relax. We really enjoyed the wood burning hot tub, we purchased additional wood from the Repsol garage. The drive to the house was steep but very manageable for a confident driver. Initially we were given keys to only one of the apartments however as this had two single beds we requested the keys to the second place as this had a double bed and Susana was very accommodating in providing these.

Came here last year as I grew up in the hermitage and brought my Thai fiance and she just fell in love with the place. The animals, nature, mountains and friendly people. Love it here and came back longer this time and will be back every year.

The pictures looked beautiful but were nothing compared to the real deal! A wildebeest was strolling past the cottage on arrival, with more wildlife gathering within 5 minutes drive. We watched a stunning sunset from the lookout point and then had spent time watching the stars from the hot tub. A personalised welcome letter and gift of rusk was waiting for us on arrival, along with a file filled with information regarding nearby places to visit and information on the local wildlife. I only wish that we could have stayed longer. We could easily have spent a week there without running out of things to do and see. So grateful for the experience!

We enjoyed our stay, it was peaceful and private. We loved the wood-fired hot tub!! The unit was clean and we loved the location.

We had an incredible experience tasting the local countryside life in a completely private location — we basically had the whole hill to ourselves, with breathtaking views of the forest and mountains. Sitting in front of the fireplace after soaking in the hot tub on a chilly night was just perfect.

We booked Penny's place at the last minute and she was more than willing to assist us. The space is lovely, we enjoyed meals in the open plan kitchen with a view over the valley. The kitchen is well equipped for self catering. The shower was piping hot and clean which was superb on a rainy cold weekend. Full dstv bouquet allowed us to enjoy the UCI XCO races. All in all, an incredibly pleasant weekend. Thanks Penny.

Zuikerboschfontein was a little slice of heaven. We had the most wonderful Easter weekend there with our dogs Toby and George - not sure who enjoyed the trip more, us or them. Martinette is a spectacular host and didn’t miss out on one step with the cottage. It was both adorable and full of all the essentials - we loved the touch of the homemade soap. Definitely have to come back soon!

We visited over the Easter Weekend, and it was a joy to be away from the busy crowds in town. The interior of the cottage is absolutely stunning and spacious. We also loved the private outside area with a braai and 3 areas to relax. Privacy from the bedroom is not great, especially with the doors open. Don't let the lack of seaviews put you off. You feel like you are on a farm, highly recommended!

A perfect stay for a weekend away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Beautiful and peaceful surroundings with a gorgeous view of the mountains. We enjoyed the Mountain biking trails and had a wonderful meal at the local hotel. The cottage was just perfect - being spacious, well equipped and tastefully decorated.

Loved our stay! Robert was super friendly, beautiful garden, so serene and relaxing. a lovely place to chill out and relax surrounded by nature and two friendly dogs! Was sad to leave, gets chilly once the sun goes down so bring some cosy clothes to be extra comfy! Definitely recommend 👌

Pandokke is a charming and rustic cabin deep in the wilderness of Schoemanskloof. The stone cabin is well appointed with amenities. There beautiful walks to the waterfalls nearby. Pandokke offers an opportunity to stay historical cabin that once was a stopover for the travelling pioneers of the 1880’s., to the area. The road to the cabin is steep and narrow and does require a car with high ground clearance or a 4x4. A peaceful escape.

There is no better place to stay in Akosombo! This was our 7th trip and we enjoyed it as much as the first time. We have also recommended River Cittages to many friends/colleagues who also have seen that this is a hidden gem. Don’t hesitate to spend a peaceful break here!

John was a wonderful host, letting us in before check-in time so that we could get rid of our trailer. He was very informative, interesting facts regarding the furniture/doors that he made himself. Bought some of his lovely wine and olives too!

Our second stay with our two kids in this beautiful house. As before, we love the wild surroundings, the cozy and comfortable space and the amazing views and night skies. We’ll be back!

While we had a shorty stay, Michelle made us feel right at home. She had so many thoughtful touches that I haven't had in an Airbnb in a long time. She left a personal note and a welcome basket full of treats from her garden, and some much appreciated basics like bread/butter, honey, jam, tea, coffee, and milk. Michelle was lovely and warm, and provided such a great respite from our long travel days. The views are also incredible.

A beautiful cottage in a stunning setting. Very clean and well equipped, we will definitely visit again.

Really enjoyed our stay at the milk cottage. The cottage itself was very beautiful, well layed out and equipped with everything we needed. There were also books which our 2 year old son enjoyed reading and playing with. The property was also amazing with play areas and lots of toy trucks and a deck where you get a spectacular view of the maize plantation and the drakensberg.

Such a cozy house in the woods — we spent a week here and totally fell in love with the place. Peaceful, beautiful - the perfect place to hide and disconnect from the world. Big thanks to Mia and Teegan, everything was great!
