Kominka with a stove | Kawa no Ie | Campfire | A somewhat basic accommodation for 1–4 (5) people (Kawa no Ie Suian)
This is an old house from the late Edo period located in the mountains. It is a self-catering property where the kitchen and common areas are shared with other guests. This space can accommodate anywhere from 1 to a maximum of approximately 5 guests. There is a traditional kamado grill, so you can enjoy spending time doing things yourself, such as making a fire to cook rice, boiling water, or having a campfire. Due to its traditional design, which is gently partitioned down to the wood grain, sounds and movements are transmitted softly. It is not a completely soundproof space like a hotel, but rather suitable for those who can enjoy the atmosphere of an old house, including the presence of other people. This is an old house that has everything you need, but it's not overdone. The house is not modernly appointed, but that means it is close to the elements of fire, water, wind, and nature. A river flows right next to the inn, wild plants are sprouting, and you can sometimes hear the sound of deer in the nearby mountains. The stars are very beautiful at night, and you can enjoy a quiet time. You can enjoy a nostalgic experience unique to a place where old things remain. This place may not be suitable for those looking for convenience, modern amenities, or hotel-like comfort, but I think it would be a good fit for those who value spending time in nature and enjoying the experience of making a fire with their own hands.
