Nishimura Residence is a traditional Nara machiya (townhouse) over 110 years old.I renovated “Grandma’s place,” where I spent a long period of my childhood, and opened it as an inn in 2019.Since the Nara machiya has been preserved in its original state, there are many inconveniences, and it is not a luxurious hotel where everything is provided. 　On the other hand, I think it’s the perfect place to soak up the “cozy, rustic” atmosphere that permeates Naramachi.In the hope of helping guests “reflect and rejuvenate” in an environment away from the hustle and bustle of the station, we provide books in the room and a vegetarian-style breakfast.(Almost all of the books in the room are available for purchase.) 　Please spend this evening in the tranquility of the Nishimura residence and Nara-cho, listening to the voice of your own heart.

This house belonged to a famous wood carver of "ittobori" - a traditional Nara technique of carving the wood. A projector and a record player will make your stay even more pleasant. Enjoy!

There are wooden deck besides living space, you will have relaxing time at the wooden deck with garden view. Electric bikes are rent for free. Our guesthouse is located in the old town called Nara-machi. There used to be many traditional wooden townhouses known as Machiya. We restored Machiya while keeping the original structure in order to provide you with a traditional Japanese experience with local atmosphere.This house is for only private use and has only one floor with Japanese style room, shower room, washroom, sink and small garden.
