Three labeled pump bottles are arranged on a windowsill. The containers are marked as shampoo, conditioner, and body soap. Natural light filters through the window, casting soft shadows on the bottles.

Well renovated and very well-equipped traditional house. The environment is quiet while having an entrance near the highway. Despite the language barrier, we communicated well with the owner who was friendly. We highly recommend this home for those who want to have an experience in a Japanese home.

The Airbnb is located in a peaceful town with absolutely stunning views of the hills, sea and rivers, and is a great getaway from the busy city life. The host was very responsive and welcoming, where she shared some snacks with us on our first day of arrival.
A dining area with a wooden table is situated beneath three pendant lights, enhancing visibility. Two simple chairs with woven seats accompany the table, while a decorative vase with dried flowers is centered on the table. A modern kitchen area is visible in the background.

We had a great stay, host was very welcoming, house is beautiful with lots of space and very clean. Host even left birthday present for our son which was very thoughtful. Would definitely stay again.
A traditional Japanese room features wooden floors and tatami mats, creating a serene environment. Natural light filters through sheer curtains, illuminating the space. A vase of flowers stands elegantly in one corner, while a low table and cushions invite relaxation around the tatami area.

It was a little far from the station, but I didn't find it inconvenient because I could shop nearby. The messaging was smooth, and the host handled our requests politely. I would like to use it again if I have the opportunity.

Naoshima Juju Kiseki House

PatriciaRating, 5 stars4 weeks ago
This beautiful, tranquil home is at the end of a quiet street but very close to the port and lots of good restaurants. The home is very charming with lovely art and a very authentic Japanese vibe. Be aware that while the ceilings are tall, the thresholds between rooms are approximately 5’8”. There are 2 separate bathroom spaces; one has a lovely shower room and sink and the other has a toilet and sink. The kitchen is well equipped. There is a 7-11 very close by and a co-op market also within walking distance
A serene view is offered through large windows, revealing a delicate rock garden with greenery and stepping stones. Plush blue cushions are placed on a wooden floor, providing a comfortable seating area to enjoy the tranquil outdoor landscape filled with carefully arranged stones and plants.

Contemporary Ryokan "Tenrai" in Castle Town

JonathanRating, 5 stars4 weeks ago
Takahashi is my favorite town to stay in when visiting the Okayama prefecture, and this is my second time visiting TENRAI. It is always very peaceful and serene with tons of natural beauty. It is a short walk away from Raikyuji Temple and the Former Haibara Family Samurai House. With a little bit of effort, you can even walk to the shuttle van stop that takes you to the Mastuyama Castle hiking trails. It is incredibly relaxing to spend early mornings observing the well-manicured private garden at TENRAI. Despite the lush surroundings being full of life, there were no pests within the accommodations. A highlight of this ryokan is the main house’s massive bath that looks like it can seat 4 people. The bath even has its own zen garden, which is incredible to observe while soaking.
