Welcome to my secluded, peaceful hideaway. The studio is a large open plan space. Large sliding doors completely open up the front of the building onto the deck, giving you a feeling of always being close to nature. Surrounded by trees, orchard, lawn and garden, the studio is a quiet retreat space. The sound of the sea and bird song are always in the background. It's 50m from our house and well hidden by trees, so you'll feel very private. The best beach in NZ is a 15 minute walk away!

My place is close to beaches, bush and the famous Motu cycle way. You’ll love my place because of the friendly welcome, the little extras AND the comfy bed!! Only 2 hours driving from either Tauranga, Rotorua or Gisborne - a good resting point. Lovely quiet cottage set on lifestyle block with many chickens and sheep. 3 minutes driving to fabulous Waiotahi beach and only 10 minutes into Opotiki for cafes and shopping. Peace and tranquility - leave the city behind.

The DogBox @ NZ’s favourite beach - Ohope Beach NZ

Our guesthouse is perfectly located at Ohope Beach between Ohiwa Harbour and the South Pacific Ocean - less that 1 minute walk to each. You can hear the ocean while lying in bed :) 'The DogBox' got its name when my dog Cooper (RIP) refused to come into our new house when we built it, preferring to sleep in the guesthouse. We had a lovely couple of days staying here. The place is a small guest house just off the main house at the back. Small, but perfect for us, had everything you really need and the kitchen was very well equipped for cooking nice meals. The bed was extremely comfortable and we slept very well. We especially liked that tea/coffee was provided, as well as some bread, butter, muesli and spreads for breakfast - it's the little things that count. The place had tonnes of character and charm and felt 'lived in' - in a good way! Glen are her partner are lovely hosts, please do pop round and have a chat with them as they have some great stories! Ohope Beach itself is just amazing, just embrace the peaceful nature of the place and wander around and you'll have a great time. 10/10 can't recommend this place enough.

Our stay at Ash and Vanesch’s unit was great, very central for the things we wanted to do. The beach was just across the road and the Ōhope club well within walking distance, their menu was good too! We would recommend this stay to anyone however be prepared for a little road noise. Maybe we noticed it because we live in a quiet cul de sac. Thanks Ash and Vanesch.

Jnana was a fantastic host, incredibly responsive and accommodating., we were also able to check in earlier than we expected, so that was wonderful. Prefect place for a family, beautiful little loft it felt like a treehouse for the kiddies so many cool things for the kids to do there. Lovely relaxing stay at a classic Kiwi bach. Family holiday with our three kids and we all had a great time kayaking, trying to catch fish, having more success catching mud crabs, going for hikes on the headland, and just relaxing offline. Host Nik is super friendly and responsive, place was exactly what we were expecting and hoping for, and we will be back!! Highly recommend to others who enjoy old school device-free outdoor kids family holidays :)

The hosts were very helpful and the accommodation was lovely with a great fresh pine smell. It is very close to the beach and I loved falling asleep to the sound of waves on the shore. The morning shower was lovely with good pressure for an on-demand hot water system. Everything we needed was provided for a great stay.

Perfection…in every way. Great communication and Paul was very responsive and accommodating. The place was a slice of heaven and we will definitely be using it every time we travel to Whakatane. Super close to town, with 180 degree ocean views and very respectful quiet neighbours. 10/10 for anyone looking for an amazing place to relax and unwind. Thanks Paul & Nikita and your lovely pet goat Balaagi.
