Relax on Rata

SamRating, 5 stars18 months ago
We absolutely adore this home and property, this is the third time we have stayed here and we will continue to do so when we visit Otematata. If you’re looking for a quintessential kiwi Bach which is cosy, clean and tidy then look no further. The outdoor area is amazing for a cold beverage or morning cuppa and the BBQ is great. Lesley is a great host and we can’t thank her enough for having us in her great Bach.
The exterior of a charming two-bedroom home is featured, showcasing neatly maintained gardens with rounded hedges. A sign reads '29 Buller Crescent,' providing a welcoming touch. The sky is clear and blue, enhancing the inviting atmosphere of this character-filled retreat.

Classic Otematata Bach

We loved staying at Fiona’s place. It’s a typical New Zealand holiday home (bach/crib) and is well-equipped with everything you might need. It’s nice and homely and in a very quiet area of Otematata. We stayed for three nights and used the house as a base for cycling parts of the Alps2O cycle trail. We highly recommend Fiona’s place.
An open-concept kitchen showcases modern cabinetry and a large island with seating for four. Natural light illuminates the space, which features a dining table made of wood and leads into a cozy living area visible in the background.

Room for everyone!

Beautiful house to stay in with our family of 5 with room to spare. Great styling and lots of space. The kitchen had everything you need. As we were here for Christmas, the kids loved that there was a christmas tree in the living room. The house is only a 10 minute drive to the beach and playground. We were able to see the penguins at Caroline Bay at night. The playground is amazing too. Hayley was quick to answer any questions we had. Highly recommend this house to anyone looking to explore this part of NZ.

I recently stayed at this Airbnb, and I cannot recommend it enough! From the moment I walked in, I was struck by how clean and tidy everything was. The space felt fresh, well-maintained, and thoughtfully organized, which immediately put me at ease. The atmosphere was incredibly relaxing and peaceful—exactly what I needed for a getaway. The natural light streaming through the windows, the comfortable furniture, and the calming decor all contributed to a serene environment. It was the perfect place to unwind, read a book, or simply enjoy the quiet. If you're looking for a spotless, tranquil space to recharge, this is the place for you. I’ll definitely be returning!
