Having grown up in Van Buren county I was beyond excited to find such a great looking and cute place to stay! I was in town for the annual Forest Craft Festival but also to see family and friends. This home is an easy walk to downtown Keosauqua. Granted it is not a big town but everything is within a short walk or drive. I had a small issue trying to figure the heat out, it was operator error, and within 5 minutes of reaching out there was a knock at the door. Sonya’s place may become the location for an annual HS friend get together. Thank you for the lovely home!

Poppy's Place is lovely! We enjoyed our stay very much. The house was clean, bathrooms pristine, kitchen well appointed. The beds were great - very nice mattresses with comfy sheets and blankets. Plenty of towels and extra linens were available if needed. We were able to park in the garage, which is a real perk for a rental. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful, very near a Dollar General for quick supplies. Dixie was super responsive and left excellent directions regarding check in and check out. We would definitely stay here again!

Crista’s place is lovely! I had a great time. It was a quiet, clean and comfortable! So convenient to restaurants, bars and the river in the quaint cute little town of Keosaqua! This cute little place has everything could possibly want and more! Thanks for a great get away! I’ll definitely be back:)

We had a very comfortable stay. Convenient parking close to the cabin . Located on the river a short driving distance from Keosauqua, Lake Sugema and Lacey Keosauqua park. While we went out for our meals the cabin had plenty of amenities for preparing meals and an outdoor fire ring. We like visiting the area and enjoyed our stay.

A spacious studio room features two Queen size beds dressed in gray linen with decorative pillows. A light wood dresser is positioned nearby, holding a coffee maker and other amenities. A vibrant wall art piece adds a splash of color, complementing the clean, modern decor.

My kids live about 5 hours away in 2 or 3 directions. Stockport IA was a nice in-between spot. Van Buren county is beautiful even in November when the leaves are gone. I was able to book 4 rooms for 8 adults, 1 teen and 6 little ones. The old school building has been beautifully repurposed as apartments and Air B n B rooms. Hunters take advantage but it was also perfect for our little family get together.

We loved the location! We all grew up on farms so this was very comfortable and quiet. Sitting around the fire and watching the deer was relaxing. We really appreciated the quick response to the hall light bulb issue. Thank you! Would definitely recommend this location to anyone looking for a quiet relaxing stay.

This was genuinely the best stay I have ever had in my life. Better than any hotel, or any type of stay. The host had very clear instructions, after we checked in we were just left to ourselves! The cabin is beautiful. Peaceful. With great water streams nearby, and the Des Moines River. Incredibly quiet. Easy to access. The place was perfectly clean, with every little thing we would have wanted. All we had to do was bring some groceries, and everything fell into place. Just as described. A nice week of turning our phones completely off, and just exploring the local towns. Who says you can't vacation in small town Iowa? I highly recommend this place. Worth every Penny!
