I would highly recommend Forty winks, to anyone who wants to get away from the hustle. It is the perfect home away from home, in the country side, with all one can need for a peaceful break. Peter was a gracious host, his communication was clear and he is such a friendly, warm person. My sister and i thoroughly enjoyed our break at Forty winks. The pictures don't do justice to the attention to detail. Having drinking water (the tap water is safe too), fresh rusks, milk in the fridge. Comfortable beds. Divine shower. Seeing the Zebras stroll by was such a treat. The surrounding area is beautiful. Nature at its best. Thank you Peter for a memorable weekend.

We unfortunately did not manage to get to Audrey's place due to heavy snowfall. But our experience of Audrey as a host was exceptional. Her communication was brilliant, she was very helpful and understanding of our situation. We have rescheduled our trip and look forward to our stay

A little hard to locate with the driveway overgrown and the sign was not visible so really difficult to find specially at night. The host was extremely helpful and drove out to find us and take us in. The location was simply amazing, peaceful and I highly recommend this to anyone visiting Mooi River.

Had a wonderful stay, and really enjoyed sitting in front of the roaring fireplace soaking up the magnificent view of the Drakensberg.

My family and I spent Christmas at Oakvlei Farm and we absolutely loved it! The house was perfect in every way. We were amazed by how friendly and responsive Carol and her team were during our stay as they never hesitated to assist us. I have to condone her for the extremely comfy beds and quality linen on the beds. We were able to bring our two little dogs in which they were able to run around the whole day, seeing as the big garden is completely closed off. If you are looking for a peaceful and spacious retreat with friends or family, I highly recommend Carol's place.

I had a beautiful stay at Riverside Cottage. A very well equipped accommodation in a bucolic environment. Kim was very helpful whether it be for the direction to the cottage or to make sure I have everything I need during my stay. The host have a great sense of hospitality and I thank them for that.

The nights are so still you can almost hear the silence, and mornings bring soft light, sunrise, and that endless view of the mountains. The cottage itself is simple, stylish, and thoughtfully put together—everything you need and nothing you don’t. Emma is a warm and welcoming host, and the entire place radiates calm. This is slow, soulful living at its best. We didn’t want to leave—and can’t wait to come back.

I sent my parents away for a weekend with 3 other couples for my mom's birthday, they loved every minute of this peaceful location and comfortable home. Simpiwe was extremely helpful and the group had a fantastic friends getaway!

By far the best place I've stayed in South Africa during a trip through the country. I don't want to go into detail because you might assume I only want to focus on a few things. Everything was better than expected. But I still feel like saying a few things. We had zebras right in the front yard. Never had this much room in an apartment. You feel like part of nature while having all the comfort that you need. The host is just lovely and gives you room if you want it but also helps with everything in case you need her. Thank you for making my trip even better.

Oh what a beautiful & peaceful place to be in. The pictures honestly do not do justice, it’s much more beautiful in person with gorgeous surroundings and the rooms are huge. The restaurant, playground and horse riding being in the same estate are a cherry on top. My family and I will definitely be coming back.

Robyn is the most friendly and responsive host I have dealt with. The property is amazing and wonderfully private. Great open areas for the kids to play and a game of Rugby was awesome on the lawn. We enjoyed the friendly horses and beautiful cows and the kids loved the chicken coop. The house was amazing loads of areas to braai with a large wrap around veranda and a fantastic pizza oven. All bedrooms look onto the mountain and were a good size. Huge kitchen and lovely herb garden. Royce the farm manager was lovely and helpful. The games room was a win. Kirsten the farm manager as even posted back a few items my teenager left behind - such amazing hassle free service. Thank you were had an amazing stay.

Cottage was actually better than the photos. Was lovely and clean, also very helpful to have Sylvia help out with cleaning etc, she was lovely. Comfortable beds and good linen. Fire not working which was a little disappointing the first night as it was chilly, not needed after that.. hopefully will be available in the future.

The house is beautiful and spacious. It has everything you need. There is a washing machine, a dryer and a dishwasher. The view from the house is breathtaking and there is a clean small lake one can swim in just a few minutes from the house. There was a rock pool very close by but I understand that now it belongs to one of the properties so is not available for everyone’s use. There are so many activities in the area so we had busy packed days horse riding bird shows and vertical rush. Internet is not great. It was an absolute treat.

What a stunning spot offering beautiful gardens, world class views, comfortable facilities and it is very well located. The birdlife is tremendous including a display from a pair of Ground Hornbills.
