Large Nature House NEW A/C & Renovated 2024

Stay with local hosts in this spacious and serene space that is just moments away from quiet beaches. You can often hear the ocean waves at night as you sit on your patio or enjoy the fireflies dancing in the extremely large, enclosed and gated garden. This house is a rare find in Sri Lanka. It is recently built which means there is absolutely no mould or damp smell. The house is freshly painted with new A/C units installed (July 2024). It is tastefully furnished and comfortable.

Once you drive through the gate and drive up the road it becomes quite clear that you are about to arrive at the place that you were hoping for! Pictures cant explain what you are about the experience its far from an ordinary villa, so it has been named a private resort. Its all about adventure, a mix of architectural styles, relaxation, action & party vibe. This stay was peacefully surrounded by rice fields - only a 15-20 minute walk away from the beach and main road. You get a private, standalone house with well-equipped kitchen (can always ask for more equipment from their professional kitchen in the main house) and very expansive bathroom. The wifi is well enough to work online and do video calls. In the shared lounge area you can also find a peaceful spot to read or do some work at a dedicated desk. The pool was cleaned multiple times a day and the staff was respectful and kind. Sampath managed the place with kindness and hospitality. He reacted very quickly to our messages and requests. He even helped us out to do groceries, offered to do take-out for us when we had to work one evening, recommended restaurants in the area and connected us with a place for our visa extension. You never felt that you were bothering Sampath and he came by to discretely check if all was OK for us each morning and evening (without being intrusive).

We were four friends staying at Johns beautiful house and had an absolutely fantastic time. John very kindly allowed us to check in early as we were jet lagged. We booked it to have a few days chilling out after our arrival in Sri Lanka and it was the perfect place - four big bedrooms and a bathroom each, a big swimming pool and a fabulous garden. Lahiru cooked for us most days and with Krishantha kept the pool and garden fresh and clean. They were helpful and friendly without ever being intrusive. We had intended eating out more but his food was just good - he even taught us how to cook some Sri Lanka dishes. would thoroughly recommend Johns house for a family or group of friends.

Dear Lahiru, and Uncle, Just a heartfelt thank you for a wonderful stay at your villa on Lake Koggala, truly one of the highlights of our trip. Peaceful, relaxing, and full of unforgettable moments. The setting was magical. Waking to the sounds of wildlife, watching bats sweep across the sunset sky, it all felt alive and special. The variety of birds was incredible, and the monkeys made us feel like nature was putting on a show. The pool was a favorite for both me and our 12-year-old—simple joy at its best. The food was another highlight: every meal delicious, full of local flavor, and clearly made with care. After days of exploring, surfing, and touring, returning to the villa felt like stepping into paradise. The sunsets over the lake and the peaceful energy helped us slow down and truly soak it all in. We were blown away by the beauty and serenity of Villa Ovita in Talpe, Sri Lanka. This stunning villa was literally a paradise on earth, surrounded by lush greenery and an incredible array of animals. From the moment we arrived, we felt like we were in a nature lover's haven. But what truly made our stay special was the warm hospitality of our host, Damith. He was incredibly welcoming and kind, and it's clear that he's poured his heart and soul into creating this beautiful oasis. His hard work has paid off, and we felt so grateful to have been able to experience it. We spent our last few days in Sri Lanka at Villa Ovita, and it was the perfect way to unwind and relax. Also Mirissa is only a short tuk tuk ride away with its larger beach and many restaurants. The host, Ranga, and his family did everything to make our stay wonderful. Thank you

Ruwan’s place is a great find. The location is peaceful in the middle of a quiet street. Not too far off from the main road. Easy access to a supermarket close by. The villa and the pool is well taken care off and the staff is friendly and very helpful. The rooms and the bathrooms are large and spacious. It was perfect for our 17 member group. The staff made the best breakfast for us fresh everyday. With some local treats as well. Price was very reasonable. One night they organised a barbecue for us with fresh meats and fish. The pool is the best part of the property. The staff helped us with booking cars and bikes on rent. We had a great Christmas break thanks to Ruwan and his friendly staff. He is very responsive and flexible. It was a home away from home.

We have just got home after our trip to the Tropical Beach House in Hikkaduwa. What a totally lovely time away. Great communication with Gavin prior to the visit and out in touch with Darmith (house keeper) and taxi transport for arrival. We arrived at 2am to be met by Darmith and Saji (security) and felt at home straight away. Darmith had collected fridge essentials before we arrived so we were set up for the following morning. The house and gardens are lovely, the sound of the ocean 24/7 is just perfect and the house was spotlessly clean with good facilities. Sangrita helped to provide us with Sri Lankan breakfast foods, loved the Dahl curry and the hoppers but also gave us an awesome Brit breakfast of eggs and bacon! Chandra was on hand at night to cook a bbq which was tasty and varied. We used Tuk tuks to get out and about during our stay which were easy to find. Any issues we had were resolved quickly. Lots of local bars and eateries along the beach or further into Hikkaduwa.

We had a fantastic stay at Piers' place. The rooms and bathrooms were fantastic. We wanted somewhere that the 4 of us could relax,swim and be close enough to all the local amenities, this fit the bill perfectly. The staff at the property were second to none, it would be rude of me to not mention how incredible Pushpa, Devika and Titus were. Pushpa and Devika made us incredible breakfasts each morning that were fit for a king, Titus kept on top of all the maintenance and helped with any bits we needed. We met Piers a couple of times, he is a really genuine and lovely chap who has a wealth of knowledge of the local area. I have got to mention the pool, it was mine and my partners favourite but, especially the slide. We stayed for 4 days but we wish we had stayed longer, if you can book a longer stay here I would strongly recommend it! There is so much to see and do in the area that it is hard to tick everything off the list.

First and foremost, the couple that owns this property are wonderful people! They were extremely kind and welcoming and did everything they could to make our stay comfortable. The location is very peaceful and quite (which is hard to find in Hikkaduwa due to the trains and howling street dogs). Having air conditioners in the bedrooms was great! The fiber-optic WIFI was very fast and stable, and perfect for a digital nomad. (100Mbps download, 100Mbps upload) The area is very walkable - takes about 20 minutes to walk to Turtle Beach. There are many great seaside restaurants and shops that are all in walking distance as well. If you don't want to walk, you can hail a Tuk Tuk with Uber and it's very reasonable. (Less than $1 USD to go into town from this AirBnB). If you're visiting Hikkaduwa, I highly recommend staying here. The locals are very friendly towards tourists and it's a great escape from the hustle and bustle of the big city!
