Cottage vacation rentals in Tyler State Park Lake

I needed a place to just unwind and relax for a couple of days. I was looking for a place that was quiet, peaceful, surrounded by nature, scenic, and go fishing! This place was all of the above and then some. (There's also a very nice golf course just down the street) Mike and Sheryl make you feel right at home. They are both very friendly and kind. They kept their fridge stocked with drinks and breakfast foods. There is also a coffeemaker, microwave, and toaster in the common/kitchenette area. I even caught my biggest catfish off their brand new dock! (5lbs). I will definitely be back for another stay. I highly recommend staying at Mike & Sheryl's lake side house.

I would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND this place!!! This house was gorgeous and very well-kept! The owners thought of everything that travelers may need. They also had various snacks, movies, and games for the children. The grounds were beautiful and peaceful. The owners have bird feeders up, so it was really nice getting to see all the birds flying around the backyard. There were so many beautiful cardinals and we saw 1 blue jay. Stephanie and Jan were such friendly and amazing people! Whatever we needed, they always answered quickly. The home was very comfortable and we had such a good stay! We were even allowed to have visitors! Most of the Airbnbs that we have stayed at did not allow visitors, so it was nice to be able to have our family over. We will definitely stay here again!

We absolutely loved our quick weekend getaway, this place is truly a gem! I loved the vintage lake house decor/feeling, we felt right at home. The views are beautiful, the property itself is very well maintained, loved the landscaping and the big beautiful trees! It was so nice to just walk out and hop in the lake, rinse off and hop in the hot tub later, with views through the whole cabin! My fiancé enjoyed golfing near by, we cooked and ate our meals on the patio, and enjoyed the scenery. We were more than comfortable for our entire stay. Communication was great, and they stocked us up with water, snacks, and a bottle of wine - even had a pot of coffee made on our arrival. Grateful we were able to stay here! We will absolutely be back!

Such a great place to stay, I am so glad that I found it! Lisa was friendly, quick to respond, and accommodated all of our needs. This place was exactly what we were looking for. I would highly recommend, and we hope to return again in the future.

The place was so peaceful and quiet. The master bedroom had windows facing the lake so it was always a treat to fall asleep and wake up to views of the lake. The fishing off the dock was outstanding. At one point, there was a power outage in the neighborhood and the host was quick to update me as she received updates which was very nice and unexpected! I will visit again.

Great place to stay. The road was a little rough pulling a boat. But the house comfort made up for the bumpy ride. We will definitely book again for our next fishing trip.

5-Star Stay at the Perfect Fishing Getaway! We had an amazing stay at this cozy two-room cottage on Lake Athens! It was the perfect spot for a fishing getaway. The dock was ideal for tying up our boat, making it easy to head out early in the morning or relax on the water in the afternoon. The sunsets over the lake were absolutely stunning—something we looked forward to every night as we sat on the porch and reminisced. The kitchen was well-equipped for cooking up fresh meals, and the outdoor smoker was a fantastic bonus for preparing some delicious meals. The friendly neighbors even shared a few great fishing spots with us, which made our trip even more enjoyable. If you’re looking for a peaceful lakeside retreat with great fishing, beautiful views, and all the comforts of home, this is the place to be. We can’t wait to come back!

What a wonderful place. Very quiet, clean and comfortable. Caught a few fish in the pond all released. Very convenient to nearby small Texas towns. We loved it.

This beautiful home made us feel comfortable staying in all day, or going out on the town...very peaceful.

This was the perfect place to stay! Definitely enjoyed getting some peace and quiet by the lake just watching the water and wildlife. Everything was as described and exactly what I needed! Would love to stay here again in the future :)

Great people great place

This was our second time staying here and it keeps getting better. You can’t beat the lake view. It’s perfect size for a couple and we had a dog Ludo with us also. Highly recommend!

Very happy with this place on lake fork. The dock and boat lift made it very nice for use with our boat, didn’t have to worry about tying off somewhere. Nice private boat ramp at the end of the road as well. The house was good, well equipped with everything needed for a stay. I wouldn’t hesitate to book here again.

Our girls' trip to Canton Trade Days was a success because we had a comfortable place to land after each day of shopping. The beds were comfortable and the shower space was great since it had a dividing door that separated the shower from the vanity. The drive to the house was beautiful and the surroundings were very quiet and peaceful. Great place to stay.

We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful spot. The deck and porch are perfect places to hang out and enjoy the view of the lake. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful and we took advantage of the kayaks, paddle board and fire pit. Kyla is a wonderful host and was super responsive and the house had everything we needed for a great getaway.

I had such an amazing stay at Judy's Country Cottage! Michelle was a wonderful host very friendly and helpful, she put alot of thought into the decor and every amenity you can think of. The reclining sofa and bed were super comfy. When I walked in from a long drive. Homemade cookies and muffins were there and tasted amazing! Also met her super gentle and adorable pooch, he's a gentle giant. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Very clean space with comfortable beds, off street parking, and well equipped kitchen for cooking your own meals. Peaceful place with quiet nights for restful sleep. Not a lot to do in Bullard, but it's not far at all from Tyler, where there are plenty of restaurants and stores.
