The host is very friendly and has an amazing English, which helps a lot for communication. It is a true experience of Japan's countryside and literally minutes from an amazing promenade across the local landscapes. If I ever go in that region again, I will book there for sure. One must be careful when booking at Sunada-san place to plan their travel to there early, especially if they have wheeled luggage, because it is a remote place and the bus does not pass after a certain hour. Also, I recommend to bring your own food, because there is only a few places at walking distance where you can get some. Overall, this place is very charming both at the house and in the near environment. A must do? Go to Watarase no Sato Onsen which is at walking distance and enjoy the warm baths and delicious food!
The entrance to the guesthouse is softly illuminated at night, highlighting a welcoming façade with large windows. A gravel pathway is bordered by subtle lighting, leading to the inviting wooden front door. The exterior combines natural elements with a modern design.

自然と共に暮らす宿|Stay in a Nature-surrounded Room2

After spending a month at StayAozora in Fujioka, Tochigi, I can honestly say it was one of the best Airbnb experiences I have had. Nestled in the countryside, it is peaceful and quiet, so a good choice if you want to relax around nature. From the first day I arrived, Sunada was incredibly welcoming and made me feel at home. I took a private room because I had to work in the mornings, so it was a comfortable choice at an affordable price. During the day, I often also went for runs/walks around the area and saw many animals. Sunada gave me many recommendations about the area, including delicious restaurants where I was able to eat yakiniku and udon. One thing I admired was that he was always open to suggestions and actively worked on projects to improve the quality and aesthetic of his home. He is one of a kind! If you want to make memories with new people and learn more about this beautiful country of Japan from a friendly native like Sunada, then StayAozora is for you!

Staying at Sunada was one of the best experiences I have had in Japan. The house is friendly, you meet people from all over the world. And Sunada takes us to discover good restaurants when he's not the one having a barbecue! Recommended if you want to experience the Japanese countryside!
