Vacation rentals with lake access in Thunder Bay District

This was our second stay at Monica's wonderful cabin and it was as perfect as the first time. House was clean, roomy, homey, we felt like visiting an old friend. Surrounding is spectacular, and we had great time cross-country skiing at two trails near Thunder Bay. The sauna is the best we've been to, clean, with absolutely gorgeous view toward the sunset; it heated very quickly and kept heat for a good amount of time. Kitchen is like home, with everything needed for family cooking. Monica even left eggs, milk, and and local pancake mix for us to enjoy -- thank you! Overall it's been our absolute best place to visit with my aging parents who enjoyed not having not having stairs in the house.

Amazing town, amazing airbnb

We LOVED our time spent at Highlander Cottage! I agree with others that the photos don't do it justice - it is even more wonderful in person! Such a unique setting in an absolutely stunning location! We joked there was no need to even leave the deck ;) We sat for hours just taking in the view! Bonzi is just wonderful and the effort and heart they have poured into the cottage is incredible. Many thanks to you Bonzi - we cannot wait to return!

I really enjoyed my stay at the Lakehouse on Nicol Island. Peaceful, private and spacious for my family. Very luxurious and the hot tub was great. The view was beautiful as well. We explored around the area, taking in the views. Thank you so much Lisa, and Lydia

We had an incredible stay at this lake house! The view was absolutely breathtaking, and the house itself was everything we hoped for – peaceful, comfortable, and perfectly situated by the water. The fully equipped kitchen was a wonderful bonus, making it easy to cook and enjoy meals without needing to run out for supplies. The host’s communication was amazing, providing clear instructions and quick responses to any questions we had, which made everything seamless. This place is a gem, a diamond in the rough! So much character and natural beauty. Hosts allowed us to host our intimate wedding vows on short notice and it was just exactly what we envisioned!

Our stay at this Airbnb in Terrace Bay was absolutely perfect! We traveled during the holidays to reunite with friends, and this place was the ideal setting for our getaway. The home was cozy, and had all the amenities we could ask for. The hosts were incredibly welcoming, providing thoughtful touches including a beautifully decorated Christmas tree that made us feel right at home. It was a wonderful place to relax and catch up with friends. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful, comfortable, and memorable experience in Terrace Bay. This beachfront cottage was everything advertised and more. Comfy beds, strong hot water, really well-equipped kitchen, fire pit…and the VIEW. We went in early October and the leaves were just turning. The cottage was a perfect central spot for all of our scheduled day trips to the provincial parks and sights in the area - even close to downtown. Mike was SO kind - welcomed us warmly and gave us local insights and tips about our planned stops. He even took the time to message us and point out the northern lights on two separate nights. 1000% would come back.

Fantastic location, especially if you plan to visit the Sleeping Giant. Huge outdoor space with multiple deck levels, all lit up at night both with solar and motion lighting. Cozy cottage with everything we needed, including a really nice hot tub after a day of hiking and biking. Great stop - would definitely stay again!

This is a lovely spot to stay on the peninsula. It’s close to both lakes so you can canoe anywhere. The August long weekend was a little busy on the lake but then it got quiet on Monday. Michael is very friendly and was a great host. All cooking and bbq supplies were available. It was a week to remember for us. Thank you Michael and Julie.

We had a beautiful stay at Ny and Kristy’s place. It was perfect for myself and my two kids, and my nephew. The lake view was awesome and it was a quiet, beautiful location. We are definitely going to book again next time we come out this way! Wonderful.

Great spot and get-away! Leeza & Ian were superb communicators and gracious hosts. Their camp was as described and super relaxing location on the water. Easy in and out, and a laid back town/neighborhood. The beach was shallow and made for exhilarating swimming. It was super easy for us to grill and hang out side on the spacious deck. Fully equipped kitchen to cook and make yourself feel at home. We especially enjoyed the proximity to some beautiful parks and excellent hikes. Conveniences close-by (we found Terrace Bay to have all we needed). We will certainly keep an eye out for an opening to stay again when we make it back to their neck of the woods again.

My family absolutely loved this camp. It’s so spacious and beautiful. Waking up every morning to have my coffee overlooking the peaceful lake was a dream. We used the floating dock and supplied floats. I also really appreciated all the outdoor seating Mike had not old down at the beach but by the fire place .

Definetely felt like home… had everything you might need or want… for a short stay or a long stay. The king bed was awesome… so comfortable and cosy. Great little find in a fantastic little town with so much to offer!
