A federally recognized national wildlife park on Sanibel Island, the wildlife refuge is a member of one of the biggest undeveloped mangrove ecosystem in the US. President Truman signed and created the refuge in 1945. The refuge is known for it's vast array of exotic migratory bird population. Defiantly worth the visit! Additionally you can rent bikes or kayaks here as well for added fun!

Just awesome!!! Educator Center. Wildlife Drive. Nature store. Wildlife! Kids love it! Adults love it! Edu. Ctr. & nature store good for rainy days. Get your nature on and be WOWed. Free educational programs in-season. Walk bike drive. Photography. A premier birding site in-season, but also other species. Don't forget to inquire about Bailey Tract.

On Sanibel Island's back bay: Real Florida! A small nature center, a guided tour on a tram or drive through options. The birds here are amazing. Possible Alligator sightings (hint: usually seen on the left side of the road at one of the pull over stops) You can also fish in the refuge.
