Walking between the Cloth Hall (Sukiennice) and Saint Mary’s Church, one may not realise that hidden away a few metres under the ground is a treasure trove of knowledge about Kraków’s past. To discover it, you just have to step down into the Rynek.

Muzeum. The underground of the Krakow Market Square is a journey into the past, revived centuries by archaeologists. It shows Krakow and its relations with other European Cities. One can get there by tram or 30 minutes walk along Vistula Rive.

The archeological layers of the Main Square contain 1000 years of history. All incredibly presented in the underground exhibition. If you want to see how Main Square looked like in the late Middle Ages or in the time when Mikolaj Kopernik was walking about - one needs to go underground.
