Mae Sa Waterfall is an impressive eight level waterfall with a small plunge pool for swimming in. It is popular with both Thai’s and foreign tourists and can get especially busy on weekends with families. Entrance costs 200 Baht for foreigners and it is a good idea to pack a blanket or picnic and spend a day at the waterfall. There is a large parking lot with lots of street vendors selling grilled pork and sticky rice, fruit, bottled drinks and ice cream. Mae Sa waterfall covers a large area and if you climb up to the fifth or sixth level there are less people. At the top of the waterfall there are hardly any people so it’s a nice place to get away from the crowds.

One of the most famous waterfalls of Chiang Mai, with 8 cascades, and a nice pool to swim. Also a nice track through a natural environment. It is located inside a natural park, so entrance fees need to be paid (around 200 bht/p at the time of writing). But well worth it!
